Very informative interview on the criminal US invasion of Venezuela and criminal abduction of President Maduro. They address the question of betrayal within the Venezuelan government and the question of the seeming lack of any defense.

I recommend listening to the full conversation, and Canadians should tune in to the last bit.

Jesus Rodriguez-Espinoza
Jesus spoke of Chavismo in more depth when we spoke in 2019.

Jesus Rodriguez-Espinoza was Venezuela's Deputy Consul in Chicago from 2005-2008, and Consul General from 2008-2017.

In 2017, after the US suddenly ordered consulate staff to leave the country, Jesus returned to Caracas. In December 2018, he founded The Orinoco Tribune, an English website focused on news and analysis from Venezuela.

In March, 2019, in Caracas, I interviewed Jesus, discussing Venezuelan politics, economy, Chavismo and more. Jesus brings needed insight to those less informed on Venezuela.

Excerpt on Chavismo:

“It's a feeling that goes beyond ideology, like something that connects the Chavistas with Chavez. Chavez is a mix of socialism and patriotism, using the right concept of nationalism. The Latin American nationalism. Whenever Chavez talked about nationalism, he talked about the nation being from Mexico to Argentina. That's the Bolivar idea also.

Whenever we talk about Chavismo, we're talking about sovereignty, socialism, peoples empowerment—giving power to the ones that were usually excluded. That's very important, especially among the poorest Venezuelans that in the years before Chavez were invisible.

As we are invisible right now for the mass media around the world. It's very rare—one out of two hundred pieces that I read in English refers to Chavismo and what it means. In all the analyses that are made, they make invisible whatever is Chavismo.

They base all of their analysis on lies, because if you talk about Venezuela and you don't talk about Chavismo, about the millions of Venezuelans that are committed to not going back to what we had before Chavez...you will realize that your analysis is wrong."

"On the left, Maduro as a hostage after being kidnapped by the US on Trump's orders for "drug trafficking", without a single piece of evidence.

On the right, Juan Orlando Hernández, a drug trafficker convicted by the US after trafficking more than 400 tons of cocaine, being released by Trump.

This is the "law-based order" of imperialism, where the narcos really work for them and use drugs to finance their imperialist wars, at the same time they invade and plunder countries with false accusations of drug trafficking."

#Homs: Mass Dismissals Target #Alawite Employees at Construction and Development Company in Homs

A decision has been issued to dismiss approximately 400 employees from the Construction and Development Company, the majority of whom are Alawites, in the city of Homs, after 15 to 25 years of service.

The decision, justified under the pretext of “lack of need,” has sparked widespread anger and concern. Many view it as a sectarian measure aimed at economic pressure and collective punishment against the Alawite community, as part of what critics describe as a broader policy of marginalization and impoverishment carried out by #HTS since assuming control in Syria.

📌 It is worth noting that the sectarian authorities have dismissed more than 10,000 Alawite employees nationwide. In many of these decisions, only Alawite employees were targeted, while employees from other sects were excluded, an approach widely described as discriminatory and systematic.

"'They took everything: refrigerators, nightstands, cabinets'

Ukrainian Armed Forces militants in pickup trucks were removing electronics and furniture from the empty houses of Yampol residents, a refugee, Sergei Boldarev, told RIA Novosti."

Terrorists in Syria did the same, only more extreme: they stole piping and anything they could detach from the homes they invaded.

One example: the old city of Homs, which I visited in June 2014, one month after it was liberated of the terrorist "rebels" who slaughtered, destroyed and pillaged:

"...The arched interior of the St. Mary’s Church (Um al-Zinnar) bears the char marks of its burning by retreating insurgents. Like many others, the church was looted of objects and vandalised, with the insurgents leaving sectarian graffiti on the walls. “Symbols related to Christianity were removed. Even from inside houses. If you had a picture of the Virgin Mary, they removed it,” said Abu Nabeel.

..."Thirty-eight times they came to steal our food. The first couple of times, they knocked on the door, after that they just entered with guns. The last things they took were our dried peas, our cracked wheat, our olives, finally our za’atar (wild thyme). We started to eat grass and whatever greens we could find in February, 2014, and that’s all we had till Homs was liberated,” Zeinat said.

“The last time they came all we had were some spices. I was putting the spices on the grass and weeds that we were eating at that point, to give them some flavour. They even took the spices. They didn’t leave us anything.”

The insurgents also stole valuables. “Money, gold, and they took my passport,” Zeinat laughed. “What do they want with it?”

..."They took our personal belongings, our money, they stole everything, even the pumps used to pump water up to the higher floors. They stole the electrical wiring, the electricity meters, the taps in the kitchen and bathroom, the engine of the washing machine… they couldn’t take the whole machine so they took the engine. They took the ceiling fan, the wall tiles…"

This has long been the Israeli norm: trashing, shooting up, gleefully destroying Palestinian homes, usually abducting or shooting civilians, including children, in the process. It's psychological and physical terrorism. I saw the aftermath of such sadism…

I spent several weeks in Azzoun back in 2007. The town was constantly under "curfew", which actually meant Israeli army jeeps with horns blasting barging into the town, ordering people to remain in their homes or risk being arrested or shot (which they were even when they remained in their homes, including children).

The lockdowns paralyzed businesses and school, prevented those needing medical treatment from getting it, and terrorized the community day & night.
