"Our future must involve repurposing and creating new things from what we already have. Imagine 'smart cities' being junked in favor of smart citizenry." -Point eleven of the manifesto.
I think this is a particularly poignant point, and an incredibly strong tie between the aesthetic realm of Solarpunk and the political realm of the libertarian left. We've had our self sufficiency and our community strength taken from us by capitalism. Replacement is held in favor of repurposing, and disengaged specialists are preferred to rounded, model citizens. Learning to break away from your dependence on the Capitalist system to meet your needs is another form of praxis indeed.

Not a perfect ideological match for me, but here's an organization to look into if you're interested in climate action.
And, needless to say, community organization is essential. (And unfortunately, it's something I've been slacking on.)
