This thread is from a reporter on the ground. A line of riot cops is now in place and a helicopter is circling overhead. This man was killed less than a mile from where George Floyd was killed.

A familiar sound for people in this neighborhood: helicopter. They were almost continuous in weeks following May unrest. Holiday looking a little like fortress. With officers lining driveway and at least one on roof. Haven't seen any chemical weapons used…

This energy. A angry gathered crowd pushes back a police cruiser on snowy streets at the scene of the police killing tonight. The unidentified man was killed during a traffic stop in the Powderhorn community of #Minneapolis less than a mile from where George Floyd was killed. Although the police claim gunfire was "exchanged, no officers were injured.
