I'm going to pull this quote out because it speaks to a tendency I've seen a lot in MSM. The idea that there's a clear distinction between "majority peaceful" protestors and "violent outsiders" is done to create a narrative that most people aren't out to take dramatic steps, and that those who are aren't really representative of the movement.

Don't let them divide you, peaceful protestors and non-peaceful ones both have a place in demanding social change, and should work in conjunction.

Anyone have any resources on dealing with this? I have some experience with handling them, but clearly it didn't work well enough.

Heard somewhere that the cops are gonna be out with riot gear tonight at the Hampton Roads protests, if you plan on going to those, try to avoid causing serious damage, they're mostly out there to protect the shopping districts.
