I'd like to make sure we argue on the facts here. This decision still allows these laws to have gaps just like any other.
This just puts these laws on equal footing with most other laws by shifting the interpretation of the gaps in those laws from agencies like the EPA, to courts and judges and Case Law.
Honestly surprised this took this long (neg). I figured the Supreme Court would always have a bias towards courts interpreting legal gaps, and away from experts & agencies doing so.
Yeah it sucks hard but at least it's not just saying "if there's a gap in the law then you can do whatever you want in there and nobody will stop you"

BREAKING: U.S. Supreme Court rules Donald Trump has presumptive immunity for official acts, no immunity for unofficial acts
So, my understanding of this, on tentative research, is that they've declared Trump is immune to *some* things (if they can be considered official duties of the president) on the grounds that the president needs less restraint, so as to be able to respond to situations quickly.
What does this mean for the prosecution? Delays. Imo, this decision's biggest effect is that it makes things take a lot more time, as now there has to be additional decisions and hearings as to whether or not each specific action on Trump's behalf would fall under protection.

Not surprised by any of this, of course, I just figured I could save people some time looking things up.
But idk, saying the president is above the law in *any* capacity sounds like the next exciting turn in our rapid shift toward fascism to me, how about you?

Nancy Pelosi: It’s a 'legitimate question' whether Biden's debate performance was a 'condition' or just an 'episode'
Biden's debate appearance — which even close allies admitted was a setback — renewed speculation about whether he should be replaced as the Democratic presidential nominee.

This is your reminder that republicans aren't stupid. Republicans have an INSANE amount of resources at their disposal, far more than democrats do, and they would not be trying to push voter restrictions so hard if they did not see it as a threat.
