The leftist counterpart to the normally apolitical Found. Openly a psyop.

Climate change will be a string of disaster videos on your feed, until the day you're the one filming it.

Regardless of views or values, it is inarguably important to understand how the political system you live under works.

And that goes for those of us who want to dismantle them, too.

Because I like putting my money where my mouth is, here are a few things to know about how the US government works that I see a lot of people making mistakes on, or seem little-known:

-The majority of US towns and cities are ran by either or a mayor or a town council, although some have both.
-Excepting Virginia's cities and a handful of other independent cities across the country, every city's political body exists within and answers to the county's.
-Many cities and counties have more elected positions than typically thought, it's just most of these elections aren't as well known and/or competitive. For example, county clerk is an elected position in many places, something most people don't know, because it's not a position on most people's radars.
-The term lengths of Governors is decided within the state, as are any other additional rules, such as term limits.
-The US house of Representatives has 2 year terms, while the Senate has 6 years terms.
-A law needs to pass with the exact same wording in both chambers of congress to be sent to the president for approval. If the wording is changed in one chamber, it is sent back to the other to be voted on again.
-Congress is in charge of funding. While the president is capable of doing things other than funding to try and financially support things, (i.e. Biden trying (and failing) to cancel debts) money for any and all federal actions comes from the lower houses.
-The president has 10 days to veto a bill. Congress can override a veto with a 2/3s majority if the president does so. However, the president can also occasionally do what is called a "pocket veto." If a president has not signed a bill in 10 days, but Congress is no longer in session by the end of those, the bill dies.
-Formally speaking, the US states have the powers not granted to the federal government. However, states cannot do anything that stands in defiance of the constitution. Additionally, the federal government has other ways of getting states to comply. For example, the National Minimum Drinking Age act (which raised the drinking age to 21) was written in such a way that states that did not raise the drinking age to 21 would have funding deductions.

Obviously there are more things to talk about, but here are some of the big ones.

Elon Musk is funding antisemitic ads targeting Muslim and Arab American voters in Michigan, aiming to suppress Democratic turnout by highlighting Harris’s pro-Israel positions and her husband's Jewish identity.

Hello, Virginia followers.

I would like to inform you that early voting is tremendously easy here. Literally all you have to do if you're registered is go on this website, (https://www.elections.virginia.gov/casting-a-ballot/early-voting-office-locations/) select your county, and go to the address of the Register's office that's listed with your ID. That's all you need. They'll hand you an early voting ballot then and there.
