at 18 you feel Lost And Directionless™ and you feel like a failure because you havent figured out yet what you want to do with your life? you are feeling too old because you are too young
at 26 you feel like you still havent figured out shit and wow you are such a loser who should be a proper adult by now? incorrect. you are feeling too old because you are too young. at 26 you genuinely, sincerely, are still a kid. everyone is. and you wont realize how much until you've left 26 behind, so you will have to trust me, the weird internet stranger
by late (late) 20s to early 30s you start getting a grasp of what the fuck is going on with life. because indeed what the fuck is going on with life, what the shit, how does any of this make sense except suddenly you find out that it doesnt but you are fine, because you can tell "what the fuck is going on with life" apart from "what the fuck is going on with me", and you find that you can float in the sea of bullshit that is life without getting disolved in it.
when people reach the point of starting to get a grasp of shit, they realize that being 35 is still being young, and that really there is an artificial social pressure to be an adult by 20 but its the exact same as the social pressure to be thin or to be otherwise normative, only that it is talked about much less. by 35, you reach the point where you dont think "im too old for that change in my life", you simply dont give a fuck about society saying your age isnt perfectly normative for the activity
the people who feel like they are too old, are the people who are too young

no but really, there is virtually no discourse about how capitalism/society created a culture of immense pressure to be fully functional adults by age 20 and now every kid (millennials and below) feels like a fucking waste of oxygen because they couldnt fulfill what they were never told that are completely unrealistic standards
all teens hear about unrealistic beauty standards, but none of them hears about unrealistic age standards. and its a hardcore issue that could see A LOT of improvement beyond seeing a ten words meme every blue moon that only says some shit like "its okay if you havent figured it out yet". its not a thing to find in chill nice and heartwarming spaces, it is a full blown social issue causing a fucking lot of stress to a fuckton of people and there REALLY should be more ppl talking about it

I am making this post because I do not know what else to do in this situation.
okay so some updates
1. the news has been confirmed by locals from Bathinda on x and r/punjab that in Akalia Khurd village, around 90 kms away from border, an Indian fighter jet was shot down and [unconfirmed] 2 people died in an explosion.
2. Last night several mosques in Pakistan were attacked by Indian military killing dozens of civilians, including children.
3. around 1 hour ago I heard, from my home, what sounded like to me a fighter jet flying overhead my house going northwards (130 kms away from border). a friend living in a different part of the city has confirmed that it was noise of a fighter jet.
4. military drills by Indian military have begun in schools and other places.
I am very concerned. India does not want to de-escalate, Indian govt is out for blood. Pakistan is evacuating border areas and clearly retaliating.
I am concerned about my safety.
