This is so real. I have to make such a big point for my students about how it's not weird to struggle with keeping up with things right now. Given the state of the economy, many of these folks are working 2 or 3 jobs on top of their lessons, so of course they're going to struggle. What matters is that I listen to what's going on with them, and make sure that I'm keeping their individual needs met whenever possible. It's just hard to see all the ways this country is letting down young people.
