The leftist counterpart to the normally apolitical Found. Openly a psyop.

Friendly reminder that "No ethical consumption under capitalism" doesn't mean "you are absolved from all guilt over buying from a shitty company," but that even "good" corporations are still implicated in an exploitative system.

Obviously, however, we also need to maintain the crucial nuance that people who can't afford *not* to buy from le shitty corporation are victims as well.

Good idea: organized action

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026/feb/07/california-monterey-park-stop-datacenter-construction

No Data Center Monterey Park organizers – working in tandem with the grassroots racial justice group San Gabriel Valley (SGV) Progressive Action – held a teach-in and rally that drew hundreds of participants, knocked on doors, and distributed flyers on busy streets.

They emphasized how the computer systems facility would strain the power grid, drive up energy rates and create noise pollution. A petition quickly amassed nearly 5,000 signatures. All the materials were shared in English, Chinese and Spanish – a concerted effort to reach Monterey Park’s diverse populace, which is two-thirds Asian and one-quarter Hispanic.

Real quick tangent about this:

I'm firmly of the belief that the reason AI art prospers (and why "modern art" is hated) is simply a profound lack of understanding of art as a means of communication and expression. If your perception of art is simply "mmm look good," without any care for what's being expressed, you're going to be fine with something that can replicate the appearance of art, but not its intent.

When we talk about media literacy, we're not just talking about books. Being able to examine deeper themes and expression is something that can be applied to *any* art form. A culture that is not willing to examine art in any depth is a culture that will make endless apologies for slop. Thinking critically about art is more important now than ever.

As said in the comments, it's also worth mentioning that the reduction of art into is aesthetic (and, by extension, into commodity) is a natural result of capitalism's nature of subsuming, repackaging and marketing any genuinely authentic statement. Spending time with art in a way that privileges deep thought and reflection reduces one's rate of consumption, which reduces sales and profit.
