Jews are celebrating the Sukkot holiday. In Israel and around the world, they have built their Sukkah (plural Sukkot) - the temporary hut we reside in during the holiday to symbolize faith in God who protected the Israelites in the desert on their way to the Holy Land.

I visited the devastated communities of the south of Israel soon after October 7, 2023 and have visited many times since. One thing that struck me was the Sukkot.

Whatever time of year I visited, these huts were still in place. Everyone else in Israel and Jews around the world had long taken them down. But in Kibbutz Be’eri, Kfar Aza and the other massacre sites, they were still standing. Because everyone there was either murdered, kidnapped or fled as refugees following the massacres.

Now, it’s Sukkot of 2025, two years later. And - we are told - the hostages will return by the end of the holiday. They will see the Sukkot standing, and for a moment - after the eternity of being in horrifying captivity in Gaza - it will be as if time stood still.

RT @IsraelMFA: No wonder the fake-aid Hamas–Sumud flotilla rejected all the proposals from Israel, Italy, and Greece to peacefully unload the aid for Gaza in one of the regional ports: after checking all the ships and yachts of the flotilla, the total “aid” we found amounted to barely 2 tons across 42 vessels.

This amounts to less than one-tenth of a single aid truck!

For comparison:
• A single aid truck entering Gaza carries about 20 tons of aid.
• Around 300 aid trucks enter Gaza every day.

The Hamas–Sumud flotilla was nothing more than a publicity stunt.

Isso equivale a menos de um décimo de um único caminhão de ajuda humanitária enviado por Israel e organizações internacionais. Cerca de 300 caminhões carregando 20 toneladas de insumos entram diariamente na Faixa de Gaza.

Ou seja, está cada vez mais claro que o objetivo da Flotilha Sumud era tudo, menos humanitário. Não passou de uma grande ação performática para sinalizar virtude. Na prática, serviu aos interesses apenas do grupo terrorista Hamas.

At 6:29 a.m. (Israel time) on October 7, 2023, Hamas terrorists launched a wave of horrific attacks on southern Israeli communities — the worst massacre of Jews since the Holocaust.

It began at dawn, when Hamas fired over 5,000 rockets from Gaza into Israel, using the barrages as cover to breach the border. In the massive surprise onslaught, Hamas terrorists carried out unimaginable atrocities.

Around 1,200 people were brutally murdered, more than 4,800 were injured, and over 250 were kidnapped into Gaza.

Two years later, 48 hostages remain captive in Gaza.
