Os EUA anunciaram oficialmente que a primeira fase de seu plano para encerrar a guerra que começou com o brutal massacre do Hamas em 7 de outubro de 2023, no sul de Israel, foi concluída.

O acordo, com assinatura oficial prevista para quinta-feira (9), garantirá a libertação de 48 reféns, incluindo os reféns vivos (aproximadamente 20), após mais de dois anos de cativeiro. Em até 72 horas após a assinatura, os reféns vivos deverão retornar para casa. Os reféns assassinados serão então libertados por etapas.

Após mais de dois anos de angústia, o anúncio de um acordo de cessar-fogo na Faixa de Gaza e libertação de reféns sequestrados pelo Hamas gerou emoção em todo Israel.

Ex-reféns do Hamas — Emily Damari, Romi Gonen e Omer Shem-Tov — abriram lives no Instagram celebrando a notícia com lágrimas, orações e palavras de gratidão. Emily e Romi agradeceram pela vida e brindaram dizendo “L’chaim” (“à vida”). Omer resumiu o sentimento de muitos israelenses: “Não tenho palavras para descrever esse momento.”

O acordo, mediado pelo presidente dos Estados Unidos, Donald Trump, prevê a libertação de 20 reféns vivos e 28 corpos em troca de 250 prisioneiros condenados à prisão perpétua e 1.700 detentos da Faixa de Gaza. Até agora, 148 reféns foram libertados, 51 corpos recuperados e 8 resgatados.

A esperança de ver todos os sequestrados em casa é uma realidade cada vez mais concreta!

On October 9, 1994, Hamas terrorists kidnapped 19-year-old Nachshon Wachsman, an Israeli-American serving in the IDF’s Golani Brigade.

They kidnapped him while he was hitchhiking near Jerusalem and held him hostage in the West Bank/Judea and Samaria. Hamas then released a chilling video showing Nachshon bound and threatening to murder him unless Israel freed senior Hamas leaders.

On October 14, 1994, during a daring rescue attempt by Israel’s elite Sayeret Matkal, Hamas brutally murdered Nachshon.

Nearly three decades later, Hamas’ campaign of terror and kidnappings continues. On October 7, 2023, Hamas carried out unspeakable atrocities in southern Israel, kidnapping, raping, and murdering civilians. More than 700 days later, 48 hostages remain in captivity in Gaza.

Nachshon’s story is a reminder that Hamas’ agenda of terror is not new—and that the remaining hostages must be released NOW.

May Nachshon’s memory be a blessing. We will never forget. 🕯️
