Ontem (12), os ex-reféns israelenses Aviva e Keith Siegel prestaram depoimento ao Comitê da ONU contra a Tortura (UNCAT), em Genebra, relatando o que sofreram durante o período em que foram mantidos em cativeiro pelo Hamas na Faixa de Gaza. Eles descreveram situações de fome, humilhações, ameaças e privações que violaram seus direitos humanos mais básicos. Inclusive, tiveram que testemunhar tortura contra outros israelenses.

Keith, que foi sequestrado durante o massacre de 7 de outubro de 2023 e ficou 484 dias no cativeiro, afirmou à comissão que não buscava “misericórdia”, mas justiça contra aqueles que os torturaram. Em seu testemunho, ele também explicou que, após Aviva ser libertada, 51 dias depois do sequestro, ele foi transferido 33 vezes, detido em túneis, escolas e até mesmo em residências com famílias de terroristas, passando longos períodos em isolamento total. Ele relatou agressões, nudez forçada e a negação sistemática de comida e água.

Aviva relatou ainda que os terroristas “mastigavam o tempo todo”, enquanto reféns passavam fome, e que viu vídeos gravados pelo Hamas mostrando “pessoas morrendo lentamente” no dia 7 de Outubro.

Mostrar esses relatos é essencial para que o mundo possa entender — e nunca mais esquecer — a ameaça que o grupo terrorista Hamas representa e o quanto é urgente que ele seja desmilitarizado.

Yesterday, we exposed antisemitic comments made by a lecturer at UCL at a student event. The event was recorded by Mark, a StandWithUs UK Emerson Fellow, and shared with us.

The story has gone viral, and across 24 hours, we worked shoulder-to-shoulder with students at UCL in a determined effort to secure accountability. Together, we pushed for immediate intervention from UCL leadership, removal of the individual involved, and a serious inquiry into this collapse in academic standards.

Nesta semana, o ex-secretário-geral do Médicos Sem Fronteiras (MSF) Alain Destexhe, afirmou em entrevista à Fox News Digital que a organização “já não é a mesma de 15 ou 20 anos atrás” e se tornou “tendenciosa, parcial e militante”, acusando-a de atuar como “cúmplice do Hamas” na Faixa de Gaza.

Destexhe, que trabalhou como médico na organização nos anos 1980 e liderou a entidade na década de 1990, criticou a postura atual do MSF diante da guerra entre Israel e o grupo terrorista Hamas. “Seria impossível, quando eu era secretário-geral, sermos tão parciais como a MSF é hoje na região. Nós nos definíamos como uma organização neutra, imparcial e humanitária", disse ele.

O médico afirmou que, para poder atuar na Faixa de Gaza, o MSF teria que cooperar diretamente com o Hamas, que controlava “toda a sociedade civil e as instalações médicas” do enclave. Para ele, o MSF deveria se retirar do território: “A única coisa que o MSF pode fazer é dizer: ‘Não queremos fazer parte disso. Não queremos ser cúmplices de uma organização terrorista como o Hamas.’”

A Fox News informou que procurou o Médicos Sem Fronteiras para comentar as declarações, mas não obteve resposta.

Dror Or (48) has been hostage by Hamas terrorists in Gaza for over 2 years!

Dror Or was a husband, father, and member of Kibbutz Be’eri southern Israel, known for his calm kindness and quiet strength. On October 7, 2023, he was murdered in his home alongside his beloved wife, Yonat, who was celebrating her 53rd birthday that day.

For months, his family clung to hope, until 208 days later they learned he was among the murdered. His two children Noam, who was 17 at the time, and Alma who was 13, were also kidnapped into Gaza, and released as part of the ceasefire hostage deal in November 2023.

Scientists from Tel Aviv University, working in collaboration with the Weizmann Institute of Science, Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and the Max Planck Institute in Germany, have uncovered a groundbreaking biological mechanism that could transform how Alzheimer’s disease and Multiple Sclerosis (MS) are treated.

The researchers identified that a protein called Tfii-i inhibits myelin production (myelin is a fatty substance that insulates neurons and enables fast, efficient communication). By reducing Tfii-i levels in specific cells of lab mice, scientists were able to increase myelin growth, leading to thicker myelin sheaths, faster neural signaling, and even improved coordination and mobility.
