Na semana passada, Guy Pearce, ator de O Brutalista, pediu desculpas por ter compartilhado “desinformação e falsidades” sobre Israel em suas redes sociais. O fato de ele ter feito parte do elenco de O Brutalista torna suas postagens ainda mais problemáticas. O roteiro do longa é sobre antissemitismo, retratando a vida do arquiteto húngaro László Toth, que fugiu da Europa em 1947, após o fim da Segunda Guerra Mundial, e buscou recomeçar a vida nos EUA, ao lado de sua esposa.

Ao se desculpar, o ator afirmou que, em seu apoio à causa palestina, acabou republicando conteúdos incorretos. Ele declarou: “Tenho consciência de como compartilhar conteúdo impreciso pode causar confusão e angústia; por isso, peço profundas desculpas. Certamente me esforçarei para ser mais diligente no futuro e verificar tudo o que compartilho online.”

Segundo o Jewish News, Pearce havia compartilhado material com declarações de comentaristas conhecidos por teorias extremistas, além de textos que associavam judeus a crimes como o 11 de Setembro e a empresas de pornografia, o que gerou grande repercussão crítica. O ator publicou depois uma nota dizendo que não tinha intenção de ofender ninguém e que lamentava o impacto negativo do conteúdo.

A retratação do artista reforça a importância de verificar fatos antes de divulgar conteúdos sensíveis, especialmente em meio a tensões e conflitos internacionais complexos como o israelo-palestino.

A new research paper in the Journal of Historical Studies, authored by Dr. Jürgen Matthäus, reveals how artificial intelligence helped confirm the identity of a Nazi depicted in the infamous Holocaust photo from 1941. The process of confirming the identity began when someone contacted the researcher, suspecting that the individual in the photo might be a relative. The family provided photographs of the suspected person, and AI analysis confirmed that this person, Jakobus Onnen, was a 99.9% match with the Nazi in this infamous and horrific photograph.

More than 80 years later, we remember the 6 million Jewish men, women, and children, and millions more, who were murdered at the hands of the Nazis.

A new digital front in the fight against antisemitism: “pro-Palestinian” networks are using AI-generated deepfakes to spread propaganda, Israeli cyber-intelligence firm Vetric reports.

This includes the exploitation of stolen identities from prominent cultural figures, including fan pages of top European soccer stars and videos or edited photos of leading YouTubers and influencers. Experts warn this is a dangerous escalation, using trusted faces to spread extremist messaging.
