British boys as young as 14 are being targeted by Nigerian crime gangs in a disturbing rise of ‘sextortion’ scams.

These criminals use fake profiles on apps like Instagram and Snapchat, pretending to be girls to lure boys into sending explicit images—then blackmail them for money. Some victims have taken their own lives.

90% of cases involve boys aged 14 to 17.

The National Crime Agency says: “Don’t pay. Don’t panic. Get help.” But are we doing enough?
