Indonesia bans X.com (Twitter) under country's laws on pornography
Elon Musk's attempt to rebrand Twitter as "X" has faced another obstacle as Indonesia has blocked access to X.com due to concerns about violating the country's strict anti-pornography laws. The Indonesian Ministry of Communication and Informatics stated that the domain had previously hosted content that went against their regulations, which forbid gambling and porn sites.
The ban will remain in place until X provides additional information on how it intends to use the X.com domain. This means that approximately 24 million users who were using the platform in Indonesia will not have access to it for the foreseeable future. The government has been in communication with X, and Twitter representatives are expected to send a letter confirming that X.com will be used by Twitter.
