Conservative congressman Matt Gaetz spoke at a "free Britney" rally, urging federal legislation and decrying "grifters" in her case.

U.S. Rep. Matt Gaetz joined #FreeBritney supporters outside Britney Spears' conservatorship hearing. The Florida Republican called for changes to legal arrangements like the one that controls the pop star's finances and personal life.

"One thing we can all agree on is that Jamie Spears is a d---," Rep. Matt Gaetz said outside the Los Angeles courthouse.

Every time there is a hearing in this case that does not result in freedom for Britney Spears and dissolution of her guardianship, it is a black eye on the American justice system. Thank you to the #FreeBritney Army for your advocacy. Keep up the fight!
