On April the 18th 2022 the fascist Turkish army launched a large scale Operation in the Free Mountains of Kurdistan. In the course of the operation „Claw Lock“ turkish warplanes, drones and helicopters executed hundreds of airstrikes in the mountains of South Kurdistan. Massive amounts of ground troops were deployed and reportedly chemical Weapons were used again.
The Gerîla is offering a heroic resistance against these attacks and show yet again that they are a force of hope and dignity. Facing Fascism they are the ones who defend the principles of humanity!
To show our support with this historical resistance, we ask you to take solidarity pictures, as groups or individuals with the slogan „Bijî Gerîla!“ and share them on social media using the #SmashTurkishFascism hashtag.

Two foreign journalists arrested in Şengal
Marlene F. from Germany and Matej K. from Slovenia have been brutally arrested by the Iraqi Forces on last Wednesday and are now in police custody in Bagdad. Both of them are journalists and spent the last months in Şengal, researching and documenting the social conditions of the Yezidi community. No explanation has been given for their arrests, but we suspect political reasons.
Friends of them are working on building enough public and media pressure to make sure that Marlene and Matej will be released as soon as possible. For this, they need your help! What you can do: Spread this information as far and wide as possible and contact your local and national media outlets, asking them to report on the issue.

European Politicians condem Turkeys attacks and Europes silence
Jeremy Corbyn, British MP and Iceland’s Justice Minister Jónasson offered their view on Europes silence regarding Turkeys attacks on South Kurdistan. Jeremy Corbyn stated that “it’s wrong that Britain should supply arms to Turkey in any circumstances” and condemned Turkeys abuse of human rights of the Kurdish People.
On the use of chemical Weapons by the turkish military Jónasson asked “Why is the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) not investigating allegations of chemical weapons use in southern Kurdistan? Why is there silence?”
Since last years Attacks on Southkurdistan the turkish Forces repeatedly used chemical Weapons.
