In southern Kurdistan (northern Iraq), fierce fighting continues between the guerrillas and the Turkish army.
Despite intensive efforts, the Turkish invaders are not able to break the resistance of the guerrillas. The HPG (Kurdish guerrillas) report 34 airstrikes and 28 poison gas attacks on guerrilla positions by the Turkish army.
The war in southern Kurdistan is thus raging with undisguised intensity. It is hardly reported in the Western media, and the poison gas attacks are not investigated by international organizations.
As anti-systemic forces in Europe, we see our task in creating this publicity. Participate in the day of action on 11.06. against the war in Kurdistan.

Statement of the Delegation:
“As part of the EU and through its role in the OSCE (Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe), the Austrian state also bears a share of responsibility for the war in Kurdistan,” explains Georg Bauer, one of the Viennese activist:s participating in the delegation. “Austria is involved in the criminalization of the Kurdish freedom movement and in the persecution of Kurdish activists because Austria supports the fact that the Kurdistan Workers’ Party is on the EU terror list. We want the PKK to be removed from the list. Because only a dialogue and peace negotiations can stop the war in Kurdistan.”

The internationalist solidarity group Riseup 4 Rojava Vienna, which includes one of the delegation’s participants, also called for an end to arms deliveries to Turkey and an end to the so-called refugee deal with the Turkish regime. According to the activists, the so-called “refugee deal” between the EU and Turkey is turning millions of people into hostages of the regime. The Council of the Kurdish Society in Austria (FEYKOM), Riseup 4 Rojava Vienna and many other political and civil society organizations have been demanding for years that Austria take a stand against the war in Kurdistan in the spirit of active neutrality and end its support for Turkey. This also includes a clear position against NATO, explained the group Riseup 4 Rojava. It was further made clear that Turkey’s colonialist and expansionist policies would not be possible without NATO support.”

Delegation of the International Working Brigades on its way to Rojava
After a short stay in Sulaymaniya, the group of volunteers is now heading to the Semalka border crossing. Previously, international delegations were repeatedly canceled, as difficulties with the border crossing by KDP were to be expected. In the past, KDP has repeatedly closed the Semalka border crossing for longer periods of time.
The Network of International friendship carries on the tradition of international solidarity in Rojava under the name of „Rojava Volunteers – Working Brigades“ and is giving people from around the world the opportunity to get to know Rojava and the society, learn about the struggle and create a frame to exchange knowledge.

Turkish war crimes in Rojava/North- & Eastern Syria
During the last days Turkish occupation forces repeatedly targeted civilians in #Rojava /North- and East Syria and just internationally banned cluster bombs
Yesterday multiple civilians were injured due to bombing of Um Al Qura village in #Shehba region in occupied #Afrin. Heavy artillery shelling on Tinibe, a densely populated area in the Shera region injured 13-old boy. The attacks continued today.
Turkey is trying to force displacement of civilians by spreading fear & terror. Unnoticed by corporate media it is on you to raise awareness for the war crimes committed by Turkey in #Rojava

"We condemn the KDPs collaboration with Turkey, instead of serving the benefit of the people of the region. We condemn KDPs hostility towards Rojava and the Freedom Movement. We stand in solidarity with the people in all parts of Kurdistan struggling for their basic human rights.
For this reason we renew our call for everybody to participate in the next Working Brigade in mid-July to celebrate together the 10th anniversary of the Rojava-Revolution! Let us together break the embargo and together work communally for a better life!"
