On 19 July, we celebrated #10YearsROJAVA Revolution, in Rojava and around the world. 10 years ago, the people of Northeastern Syria took their fate into their own hands. Since then, an alternative to capitalist exploitation and consumer culture has been built under extremely difficult circumstances. In the face of the threat of ISIS and numerous Turkish invasion attempts, the resilience of the people and the strength of collective organizing, putting the means of defense in the hands of the people have proven that the revolution will be victorious. We congratulate the people of Northeastern Syria and salute those who have given their lives in defense of the revolution.
With Turkey again threatening to launch a major attack, many eyes were on the trilateral meeting in Tehran. Erdogan, Putin and Raisi were to discuss Syria and Erdogan planned to remove last obstacles and get the green light from Russia and Iran for his invasion plans.
Both Russia and Iran remained opposed to the Turkish plans. Regarding the US presence in Syria, more specifically east of the Euphrates, the three agreed: Erdogan accused US forces in Syria of supporting terrorists shortly after the meeting and called for a withdrawal of troops from the areas east of the Euphrates.. Furthermore Erdogan announced that the operation targeting the Regions around Minbic & Tel Rifaat would go ahead in any case, even if Russia did not open its airspace.
Both Russia and Iran remained opposed to the Turkish plans. Regarding the US presence in Syria, more specifically east of the Euphrates, the three agreed: Erdogan accused US forces in Syria of supporting terrorists shortly after the meeting and called for a withdrawal of troops from the areas east of the Euphrates.. Furthermore Erdogan announced that the operation targeting the Regions around Minbic & Tel Rifaat would go ahead in any case, even if Russia did not open its airspace.
On 20 July, Turkish forces killed 8 Arab tourists in #Zaxo, Southern Kurdistan. Many more were wounded by artillery fire in the brutal attack. Shortly after, protests broke out in Baghdad against the Turkish war on Iraqi soil. Turkish forces were asked to leave Iraq and Turkish flags were burned. The Iraqi Interior Ministry issued a surprisingly strong condemnation of the attacks and the Turkish presence in the region. This has not been the case in similar incidents in the past. Turkish propaganda organs were quick to blame the PKK guerrillas for the attacks in order to protect themselves from the wrath of the Iraqi population. This narrative was quickly picked up by Turkish nationalists who spread it on social media, but the people protesting in Iraq were not fooled. Protests were announced for the coming days in various cities.

Within 48 hours, six of our comrades, among them four members of the YPJ were killed and various others were injured by four drone attacks on the territory of Rojava. These incidents are in line with 56 drone attacks that happened just in the year 2022 and caused the death of 27 people and injured 74 more. Among the dead and wounded there are our comrades as well as civilians of every age and gender.
We promise you that we will not just defend this beautiful revolution by any means necessary but that we will spread it and make it even more grow. We will do everything to make your ideas of freedom come true! We will make you pay for your crimes and avenge our comrades!

Since 2019, so called "low intensity warfare" has become Turkey's defining war strategy. The methods of "low intensity warfare" range from classical military attacks, the use of proxies, propaganda & economic warfare to terrorist attacks, targeted killings.

Rojava is seeing the heaviest wave of attacks since 2019: After Erdogan was denied approval by Russia & Iran for large scale invasion plans the attacks along the occupied areas have intensified drastically. Tel-Rifaat, Shehba, Ain Issa & Til Temir are targeted with heavy artillery fire on a daily basis. Dozens of villages, farmlands and settlements were shelled with thousand of grenades. Among those injured and killed by the terror of the the Turkish state are children & the elderly.
On July 22nd the YPJ commander Jiyan Tolhildan was murdered on her way back from a women's conference celebrating ten years of women's revolution. Roj Xabûr and Barîn Botan were killed along with her. A Turkish drone strike hit the car the 3 women were driving in.
On July 28th a drone strike in Ain Issa killed 4 member of the internal security forces. Among the fallen: a mother of two.

At least 26 people have been killed by Turkish drone strikes on Rojava in 2022. 12 alone in July.
To thwart the attacks the Autonomous Administration Northeast Syria has launched a operation to capture agents of the Turkish intelligence agency (MIT) who deliver the information for the drone strikes.
Footage from Southern Kurdistan published by the Turkish foreign ministry show Turkish soldiers inserting tubes into cave entrances. The fascist Turkish state is not even hiding the usage of chemical weapons anymore, but still no reaction from the global public.
The global left, anti-war movements, socialists, feminists & antifascists should treat the situation as what it is: A war on the revolutionary project & the people of Rojava and in all parts of Kurdistan. Turkey is waging war on the people, committing war crimes, terrorizing civilians and killing the vanguards of this Revolution. NATO & the West are accomplices in this dirty war against the people of the middle East. Yet the supporters of Turkish fascism are right in front of us: Arms manufacturers, banks, the tourism sector & the governments of the West.
We need to take action, take the streets, create awareness, force the media to report on what’s going on and show that we don’t say silent in face of Fascism!

Prepare speeches that give examples of practical things that can be done and invite to events like:

▪️Lectures on situation in Northern Syria/Rojava, the revolution and its achievements
▪️Information events on arms dealers exporting to Turkey
▪️Occupations and Blockades
Demonstrations are great for mobilizing large groups of people for blockades or occupations.
