📌 YPG/YPJ shared a joint statement about the constants drone strikes in Rojava

Within 48 hours, six of our comrades, among them four members of the YPJ were killed and various others were injured by four drone attacks on the territory of Rojava. These incidents are in line with 56 drone attacks that happened just in the year 2022 and caused the death of 27 people and injured 74 more. Among the dead and wounded there are our comrades as well as civilians of every age and gender.

We promise you that we will not just defend this beautiful revolution by any means necessary but that we will spread it and make it even more grow. We will do everything to make your ideas of freedom come true! We will make you pay for your crimes and avenge our comrades!

ROJAVA IS UNDER ATTACK

Deployment of Islamist & jihadist gangs, psychological warfare, targeted killings, terror: Turkey is using a wide range of military tools in Rojava to weaken the freedom movement, to demoralize & ultimately drive out the population.
Everyone must understand that while we call for preparations for #DayX, the start of another major Turkish offensive, the war in #Rojava continues. Day by day.
Since 2019, so called "low intensity warfare" has become Turkey's defining war strategy. The methods of "low intensity warfare" range from classical military attacks, the use of proxies, propaganda & economic warfare to terrorist attacks, targeted killings.
Despite the lack of media coverage, pressure must continue to be exerted on Turkey and its supporters.

Rojava is seeing the heaviest wave of attacks since 2019: After Erdogan was denied approval by Russia & Iran for large scale invasion plans the attacks along the occupied areas have intensified drastically. Tel-Rifaat, Shehba, Ain Issa & Til Temir are targeted with heavy artillery fire on a daily basis. Dozens of villages, farmlands and settlements were shelled with thousand of grenades. Among those injured and killed by the terror of the the Turkish state are children & the elderly.

On July 22nd the YPJ commander Jiyan Tolhildan was murdered on her way back from a women's conference celebrating ten years of women's revolution. Roj Xabûr and Barîn Botan were killed along with her. A Turkish drone strike hit the car the 3 women were driving in.
On July 28th a drone strike in Ain Issa killed 4 member of the internal security forces. Among the fallen: a mother of two.

At least 26 people have been killed by Turkish drone strikes on Rojava in 2022. 12 alone in July.
To thwart the attacks the Autonomous Administration Northeast Syria has launched a operation to capture agents of the Turkish intelligence agency (MIT) who deliver the information for the drone strikes.
Footage from Southern Kurdistan published by the Turkish foreign ministry show Turkish soldiers inserting tubes into cave entrances. The fascist Turkish state is not even hiding the usage of chemical weapons anymore, but still no reaction from the global public.

The global left, anti-war movements, socialists, feminists & antifascists should treat the situation as what it is: A war on the revolutionary project & the people of Rojava and in all parts of Kurdistan. Turkey is waging war on the people, committing war crimes, terrorizing civilians and killing the vanguards of this Revolution. NATO & the West are accomplices in this dirty war against the people of the middle East. Yet the supporters of Turkish fascism are right in front of us: Arms manufacturers, banks, the tourism sector & the governments of the West.
We need to take action, take the streets, create awareness, force the media to report on what’s going on and show that we don’t say silent in face of Fascism!

A Story of Resistance: In this documentary, created by internationalist young women in Rojava, the story of the heroic resistance in Afrîn and Aleppo is told by those who were on the front lines fighting with their people for the freedom of their people.

Revolutionary People's War describes the strategy where all parts of society, all ages, genders and ethnicities become part of the resistance against colonialism, genocide and fascism. In Afrin and Aleppo, the sheer power that a united society unleashes in resistance was demonstrated:
When the population and its defense forces became one, they were able to withstand an invading army armed to the teeth. In Afrin, the army of the fascist Turkish state and its Islamist mercenaries were prevented from taking the region for 58 days. Despite air support and a huge arsenal of technical tools, the enemy forces failed to break the resistance. In Aleppo, Kurdish and Arab residents of the Şex Meqsûd neighborhood defended themselves against the regime as well as Islamist gangs and are still holding the ground today.

Dirbespiyê|SDF avenges fallen Comrades
The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) Press Center reported that 23 Turkish soldiers were killed in three revenge attacks.
In three different attacks close to the Border in the region around Dirbespiyê Turkish military transporters and armored vehicles were attacked. So far no comments by the fascist Turkish occupiers.
According to a statement by SDF spokesman Farhad Shami, Turkish attacks will not go unanswered anymore. Since the beginning of August, Turkey has intensified its attacks in all parts of Rojava. A series of drone attacks in the canton of Cizire have repeatedly killed SDF fighters and civilians.

ROJAVA is under attack
Turkey attacked Northeastern Syria 3,761 times in the last 8 months, killing 33 people & injuring 124. In the last 6 weeks, the attacks have again reached a new level. It is the worst wave of attacks since 2019. Turkey is deliberately attacking residential areas and causing terror among the civilian population. The Turkish crimes in Rojava are only possible because of western support & international silence.

Some years ago, when Turkey invaded Afrin, Serekaniye and Gire Spi, many groups of supporters around the world joined the mobilization to denounce the attacks of Erdogan's fascist government and to defend the achievements of the most inspiring revolutionary experience of the beginning of the 21st century.

Today, at a time when the 10th anniversary of this hard-won autonomy has just been celebrated, the threats are considerable. Turkey, NATO's second largest army, and its jihadist allies are once again increasing their attacks, which in reality had never stopped.

While Rojava is facing a massive wave of attacks by the fascist Turkish occupierers we may be witnessing a change in the approach of the Turkish regime in Syria: Statements by Turkish Foreign Minister Cavosoglu and other senior officials indicate that relations are being established with the Assad regime. This has led to protests by Turkish-backed militias in occupied areas seeking to overthrow the Assad regime. Turkey still manages to maintain control over the factions gathered under the umbrella of the Syrian National Army (SNA), but the question is whether they will sacrifice themselves in the fight against the SDF for another Turkish invasion if Turkey gets closer to Assad.

Turkey's heavy wave of attacks, launched after the trilateral meeting between Turkey, Russia and Iran, continues. After Turkey failed to get the green light from Russia and Iran to launch a ground invasion in Tel Rifaat, Shehba and Minbic, a massive wave of artillery shelling and drone attacks on Rojava was unleashed: Villages and towns in the regions of Shehba, Tel Rifaat, Kobane, Til Temir, Dirbesiye, and Ain Issa are shelled almost daily. On August 16, Turkish forces targeted the heavily populated neighborhoods of Kobane city, causing the martyrdom of a child and injuring four civilians. Furthermore, on the same day, a Turkish UAV targeted an outpost belonging to the Self-Defense Forces in the Amuda countryside, resulting in the martyrdom of five fighters, and injuring several civilians who were trying to evacuate the wounded fighters.
A drone attack on a United Nations-funded education center for girls that killed seven girls and wounded at least 22 is the latest in a series of war crimes committed by the fascist Turkish invaders. No real response from the international community has yet been seen.

In the last 4 weeks alone the Turkish aggression has caused immense casualties, also among the population:

As previously announced, the SDF launched retaliatory attacks against Turkish troops along the border: The Syrian Democratic Forces carried out three operations against the Turkish occupiers near the border towns of Riha, Dilok and Mardin. A total of 7 Turkish soldiers were killed and several others wounded. SDF spokesman Farhad Shami announced that the SDF will continue their operations to retaliate the attacks of the Turkish occupiers.
The scale of the attacks on Rojava that we are currently witnessing, even if they are the most intense since the invasion of Serekaniyê in 2019, does not seem to provoke a backlash against the AKP-MHP regime.
While the people of northeastern Syria are suffering immensely from the Turkish attacks, a response from the revolution's allies in Rojava is more necessary than ever.

SDF statement regarding the operation against Turkish occupiers:
"As a part of our right in the legitimate defense & retaliation, our forces conducted three effective and qualitative operations targeting the mobilization of the Turkish occupation along the border line adjacent to Mardin city, in addition to their tanks & armored vehicles that are used to shell our populated areas in NE Syria.
The operations are as follows:
First operation targeted armored vehicle belonging to the Turkish occupation and resulted in neutralizing 7 soldiers & 3 others were wounded.
The second operation also targeted an armored vehicle resulting in neutralizing 10 Turkish soldiers and destroying the armored vehicle.
In the third operation, an armored vehicle was targeted, 6 Turkish soldiers were neutralized, and the armored vehicle was destroyed.

In total: 23 Turkish soldiers were neutralized & at least 2 others were wounded.
We, SDF, reiterate our pledge to our people & our martyrs that we will retaliate against any aggression by the Turkish occupation army."
