Major fire near Derik - attack on IS prison in Heseke

For the fourth day in a row, the Turkish state's attacks on the population in northern and eastern Syria continue unabated.

On Monday, seven electricity stations were destroyed within 24 hours. More than 50 facilities attacked in 48 hours.

On Monday evening, a major fire broke out at a gas plant in the Dêrik region after it was bombed. Oil and gas production facilities in the region were also bombed.

In Qamişlo, a residential area was apparently attacked indiscriminately by Turkish drones; it is not yet clear whether there are any casualties.

In Heseke, the Sinai prison was also hit by bombs. However, escape attempts by the IS fighters imprisoned there were prevented.

In January 2022, there had been an uprising there in which the prisoners tried to break out with the support of Turkey.

Afrin: Six years of Occupation & Resistance

On January 20, 2018, the Turkish army and Turkish-backed Islamist mercenaries launched a major attack on the Kurdish canton and city of Efrîn.

On january 20th 2018 the Turkish state, Turkish backed jihadist mercenaries and the SNA (Syrian National Army) started a large scale attack on the kurdish canton and city of Efrîn. Ground invasion as well as aerial strikes led to the death of more than 500 civilians. The Turkish army and its mercenaries were and to this day are committing war crimes and crimes against humanity against the people of Efrîn. More than 300.000 Kurdish people have been forcefully displaced from their homes. The Turkish occupation force has installed policies of resettlement by moving settlers into the homes of displaced Kurdish families. The occupation of Efrîn in 2018 is part of the fascist turkish states plan to destabilize the autonomous administration of northeast Syria and destroy the revolution of Rojava.

Rojava's youth movement resists:

In response to threat of attacks by the Turkish state and ISIS, young people all over Rojava are educating their peers in topics of self-defense & discussing the strategy of "Revolutionary People's war" as a way to thwart attacks by organizing all parts of society.

In the village of Aşme near Kobanê, the Young Women's Community organized a education. The young women present, learned how to use a AK and discussed the motto "protect your home, your village, your country".
Members of the Young Women's Union of the city of Aleppo came together in the framework of the revolutionary people's war strategy and received self-defense training. About 20 young women participated in the one-day training.
In Minbic Hisên Bekari from the "Revolutionary Youth Movement of North East Syria" spoke about the role of the youth in the society and in organizing it for the war from neighborhood to neighborhood, for example by opening basic defense & first aid training.
