Location(s) impacted: This initially impacts more than 3 dozen dozen facilities across 14 Gulf and East Coast ports, and transportation lines from those ports. It can impact the entire US in a matter of days or weeks.
Public/private service interruptions: More immediate than the actual constriction of goods and services is the threat of Americans panic buying. This could be particularly painful for those in areas crippled by Hurricane Helene. People will seek private goods and services to compensate for public service disruption. As days turn to weeks, it would have a crippling effect on the entire US, and potentially global, economy.
Action(s) to consider: Stock up on critical goods and services, including food, medicine, and essential repairs. Keep an eye on the news as this strike continues and/or resolves. Ok troops! I want to know if you are thinking beyond the ends of your noses so here goes. Tell me how all of the following could be anomalies, red flags, and/or smoking guns.
The inhabitants (Oops! I just about said citizens and that wouldn't have been accurate considering the number of illegals in the mix.) ... the inhabitants in the South East quadrant of our Nation are drowned, drowning, treading water and/or looting and murdering with random abandon.
How could that be connected to the information blackout of a comprehensive and public damage assessment and a public plan for sourcing resources and applying them?
How could that be connected to the Ports that are closed? How is that connected to the Teamsters President who allegedly warned Biden to not "F" with the Longshoremen?
How could that be connected to a plague of rodent infestation and water borne illnesses on the way? Think the re-emergence of Cholera, Typhoid, Typhus, Diphtheria and others. (Oh my! What a Godsend for the mass vaccinators who are waiting in the wings salivating.)
Finally ... almost finally ... how is all of this connected to our Costco store running out of toilet paper today?
Your answers MUST include a discussion of Mass Formation Psychosis and how all of the foregoing plus a new MANDEMIC is waiting in the wings. I doubt if I'll get more than a "grunt" or two for answers, but there's delight in twisting your tails.
