Five years since liberating Raqqa, and we're still committed to the enduring defeat of ISIS

Five years ago, more than 30,000 fighters of the SDF from Kurds, Arabs, and Syriacs launched “Operation Wrath of Euphrates” to get ISIS terrorism out of the city Raqqa and rescue its people.

With aerial and artillery support provided by our partners in the war against terrorism, our heroes headed to liberate the city and bring down the capital of the so-called ISIS Caliphate.

Protecting civilians was their top priorities, since ISIS had held thousands of innocent civilians, using them as human shields.

With our fighters' inherent resolve, the ranks of ISIS started collapsing and deteriorating. There was no place to flee, many of them surrendered and even suicided under the Ancient Wall of Raqqa.

Their mines planted in all the city streets and buildings were to no avail, and even their suicide vehicles did not hinder the advance of our heroes and their insistence on victory.

709 fighters sacrificed their lives for freedom and democracy in that Operation. And after 150 days of constant fierce fighting, our heroes announced the Raqqa city free by eliminating the capital of the so-called ISIS Caliphate.

Five years since liberating Raqqa and eliminating ISIS Caliphate, and we are still committed to the enduring defeat of ISIS.

SDF: In a security operation, our SDF Counter-terrorism Units dismantled an ISIS terrorist cell in the al-Loizyia village, Deir Ezzor eastern countryside. The terrorist cell was planning to target civilians and terrify the people of the region.

Based on precise intelligence information, our forces raided the hotbed of the terrorist cell and clashed with them after they refused to answer the call for safe surrender. As a result, two terrorists were killed and two others were arrested, in addition, two Ak 47 gun, one pistol, one hand grenade, and a sum of foreign currency (dollars) were confiscated.

YPG: 4 Turkish soldiers and 9 mercenaries were killed

YPG: Turkish occupation army continues to launch its violent attacks on our areas. In most of these attacks, our people are targeted, resulting in the death and injury of civilians. These attacks also cause material losses to our people. In the face of these brutal attacks we defend our people and their achievements in all circumstances and conditions in the context of legitimate defense.

In this context, deterrence operations were carried out against the attacks of the Turkish occupation army in the occupied areas on the 23rd and 27th of October. These operations resulted in the killing of 4 soldiers of Turkish occupation army and 9 mercenaries, in addition to destroying a vehicle, an A-4 weapon and a grenade launcher.

Our forces will continue to implement deterrence operations in the face of the attacks of the Turkish occupation army.

HTS mercenaries kidnap four people in occupied Afrin

The Turkish-backed Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), formerly known as al-Nusra Front, have kidnapped four residents of the Kefermize village in Afrin’s Shera district.

The kidnapped civilians who were taken to an unknown place were identified as Hîlal Osman, Casim Ocalan, Cuma Mistefa Osman and Qusey Henan Osman.
