Sanctions Nullified by China-Russia Trade (reports)
Chinese exports to Russia are skyrocketing - filling the void created by sanctions and the exodus of Western brands - as the Chinese Customs authority reports a jump of one third from July. (Bloomberg)
Shipments to Russia have grown 22% as bi-lateral trade reaches $97.71bn - up 29% on a yearly basis.
It is expected that the foreign trade between China and Russia this year would surpass the level of 2021 when the bilateral trade stood at $146.87bn, a record high, the Global Times reported Sunday.

⚠️ Russian Federation's Joint Coordination Headquarters for Humanitarian Response, in cooperation with the authorised federal executive authorities, continues to record numerous facts of criminal actions by Kiev regime against civilians, as well as the use of medical infrastructure for military purposes by Ukrainian armed formations:
🔹in Nadbugskoye, Nikolaev Region, territorial defence units are deployed in the building of the tuberculosis dispensary (Veselinovskaya Street), weapons and ammunition depot is equipped, and all patients, regardless of their state of health, have been cynically expelled from the medical facility;
🔹in Cherkasy, Ukrainian militants have equipped a stronghold, arms and ammunition depots, roadblocks and firing points in the ambulance building (Ostafiya Dashkevicha Street), approaches to the building are mined, but the local population is deliberately not warned about this;
🔹in Kramatorsk, Donetsk People's Republic, neo-Nazis have equipped barracks and firing points in the building of city hospital No 3 (Heroes of Ukraine Street), while medical staff and patients have not been evacuated and are actually used by nationalists as human shields.
▫️Such actions by criminal Ukrainian authorities demonstrate complete indifference to the fate of their own citizens and absolute disregard for all norms of morality and the principles of international humanitarian law.
▫️Once again, we call on the United Nations, the World Health Organization, the International Committee of the Red Cross and other international organizations to influence official Kiev and take effective measures to prevent Ukrainian armed formations from using civilian infrastructure for military purposes.

❗️On August 8, 2022, the Russian Federation officially notified the United States, through diplomatic channels, of its decision to temporarily exempt the inspection activities from the facilities subject to inspection under the Treaty. This exemption includes the appropriate facilities at which exhibitions may be conducted under the Treaty.
🇷🇺🇺🇸 We hope to continue close cooperation with the American side. We have always advocated and continue to advocate a discussion on the resumption of inspection activities under the Treaty from a position of practical reality.
☝️ We would like to emphasise that the measures we have adopted are temporary. Russia is fully committed to the observance of the provisions of the Treaty, something we consider to be a very important instrument in maintaining international security and stability.

🎙 Statement by Mikhail Kondratenkov, Member of the Delegation of the Russian Federation at the Tenth Review Conference of the Parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, Main Committee III
📍 New York, 8 August 2022
READ IN FULL
💬 Mikhail Kondratenkov: In the context of nuclear and physical nuclear security, we would like to draw attention to the emergency situation at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant. On 5–7 August, Ukraine committed several criminal acts in the form of artillery and rocket attacks on the Zaporozhye NPP. As a result, a fire broke out on the territory of the plant and the high-voltage power line and pipelines were damaged, which could lead to a large-scale disaster. This left more than 10 thousand people without electricity and water supply.
☝️ The Russian Federation has evidence confirming that the Kiev regime is the organizer and executor of these crimes. We are ready to share them with the international community.
❗️ We call on the UN and relevant international organizations, as well as states that have influence over Kiev, to compel Ukraine to refrain from such criminal actions.

🎙 Statement by the Deputy Head of the Delegation of the Russian Federation at the Tenth Review Conference of the Parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons Igor Vishnevetskii, Main Committee II
📍 New York, 8 August 2022
READ IN FULL
💬 Igor Vishnevetskii: NATO has openly declared itself a nuclear alliance.
There are U.S. nuclear weapons on the territory of non-nuclear bloc allies. Its practical use is being exercised with the involvement of non-nuclear members of the bloc.
Such actions, which are contrary to Articles I and II of the NPT, not only continue to be a significant negative factor for international and European security, but also increase the risk of nuclear conflict and generally hamper nuclear disarmament efforts.
❗️ U.S. nuclear weapons must be withdrawn to the national territory, the infrastructure of their deployment in Europe must be eliminated, and the practice of NATO "joint nuclear missions" must be stopped.

⚡️ Russian Foreign Ministry Statement on preparing an IAEA international mission to Zaporozhye nuclear power plant.
READ IN FULL
On June 3, Russia and the IAEA Secretariat reached agreement on the itinerary and timetable for the visit by the Agency’s international mission to the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant. IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi planned to head the mission, which also included prominent experts from several countries.
❗️ However, the Department of Safety and Security within the UN Secretariat switched on the red light at the very last moment, and the Kiev authorities jumped on this opportunity by stepping up their provocations and shelling the nuclear power station.
☝️ We hope that in the current situation the UN Secretary-General awakes to the responsibility that rests upon him and refrains from creating obstacles for the IAEA mission through a department within the Secretariat which reports to him.

CBS Caves into Ukrainian Pressure on Weapons Revelations
CBS News has pulled a documentary and amended a story featuring claims that 70% of foreign weapons never make it to the front lines in Ukraine.
The documentary originally featured an interview with Jonas Ohman, the founder of a Lithuania-based organization supplying the Ukrainian military. Ohman told CBS that getting foreign weapons to Ukrainian troops involves passing a network of “power lords, oligarchs [and] political players,” claiming “30% of it reaches its final destination.”
Pro-Ukraine accounts hounded CBS, accusing the network of spreading “Russian propaganda.” Kiev presidential adviser Mikhail Podoliak waded in, saying there is “no proof” that weapons are unaccounted for, despite warnings from Moscow, Europol, Canada, the CIA and several GOP politicians.
The documentary was pulled from CBS’ website Sunday, and Ohman’s quote removed from a text version. CBS claiming arms deliveries have “significantly improved” since April.

💥 Ukrainian land mine terror in Donbass.
📄 According to the 2021 report submitted by Ukraine, the Kiev regime failed to destroy over 3,000,000 of “butterfly” land mines banned by the Ottawa Convention.
❗️ Now they are used to terrorize civilians in Donetsk and other DPR cities.
💣 A PFM-1 or PFM-1S (self-detonating) “butterfly” mine is about the size of a lighter, well-camouflaged and designed not to kill, but rather cripple its victim, cause terror among military personnel. They cannot be armed manually - they are deployed via remote minig machines, mortars, helicopters, etc. in large numbers. 5 kg is enough to trigger the mine, which is especially dangerous to children.
‼️ The fact that Ukraine still deploys these land mines designed to incapacitate their victims in densely populated areas means that the Kiev regime:
🔸 violates its international obligations.
🔸 seeks to terrorize the people of Donbass, whom it views as “Russian traitors” and “lesser people”.

Russia is the winner in the energy markets. This opinion was expressed on August 10 by Bloomberg columnist Javier Blas.
The journalist noted that the country, despite the imposed sanctions, was able to fully restore the pace of oil production, and revenues from the sale of resources, even after the introduction of spring discounts, remain record-breaking.
The West's reliance on Russia's isolation on the world market has also failed, as Russia has been able to find new buyers and cooperates with the Middle East and Asia now. The refusal of the OPEC+ bloc to interrupt contacts and coordination with Moscow indicates the preservation of the country's influence in this organization.
The Economic Times reported that Russia has become the second largest oil supplier to India, overtaking Saudi Arabia, due to discounts on Russian energy resources.
Don’t miss a chance to discuss the main economic challenges in energy, as well as current issues concerning the development of the fuel and energy sector in the world. Russian Energy Week will take place on 12–14 October 2022 in Moscow.
