🎙 Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s remarks at a meeting of Heads of Security Agencies and Intelligence Services of CIS Member States, (Moscow, November 26, 2024)
💬 The Russian Federation attributes high importance to deepening integration within the framework of the CIS, particularly concerning a wide range of regional security issues. <...>
In this context, meetings of the security agency and intelligence service leaders from the CIS member states provide a venue for professional and candid discussions of pressing issues, which is a way to promote mutual trust and to identify concrete decisions concerning joint actions. <...>
The international situation remains extremely tense and continues to worsen courtesy of our Western colleagues. The main reason includes their persistent attempts to keep the remains of their former dominance. To this end, the collective West is stoking internal conflicts and hotbeds of tension and resorts to various unsavory geopolitical tactics, ranging from orchestrating large-scale information wars to inciting “colour revolutions,” which we are witnessing in Georgia.
❗️ The neo-Nazi Kiev regime employs openly terrorist methods, closely collaborates with international terrorist groups and transnational criminal networks in order to transfer foreign mercenaries to fight against Russia <...>. I am confident that the security agencies and intelligence services of our respective countries can and should respond to such threats promptly and decisively. In this sense, as I earlier mentioned, your meeting is of particular importance.
Russia is chairing the CIS this year. We are implementing the chairmanship concept which was approved by your countries, which places great emphasis on matters of security and law enforcement. In line with the goals outlined in it, the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers adopted a statement on October 7 regarding principles of cooperation in ensuring security in Eurasia.
Amid the efforts to form a new and fairer international order, this statement lays a solid foundation for continued work towards this end. The statement comprises a number of important provisions on adapting Eurasian security interaction architecture to multipolar realities <...>.
☝️ We acknowledge the substantial contributions of our partners to joint CIS projects and programmes in areas such as combatting terrorism, extremism, transnational crime, illicit drug and arms trafficking, and money laundering.
<...>
We believe that the effectiveness of our work gets significantly better when CIS efforts are integrated with the efforts of other regional organisations, primarily, the SCO and the CSTO, which also operate through relevant mechanisms.
The role of the Union State of Belarus and Russia in ensuring security in our shared region has increased substantially. It is crucial to adhere to the “regional solutions to regional problems” principle, which is taking on increasingly universal nature.
<...>
In addition to the above entities such as the SCO, the CSTO, the Union State, and the CIS, we have partners such as the GCC and Central Asia Plus mechanisms, including Central Asia-Russia, Central Asia-China, and Central Asia-India mechanisms.
These mechanisms will allow us to create a Eurasian security architecture that is not imposed on us from above artificially, but is developed through harmonious integration of existing capabilities of these organisations. <...>

✍️ Article by President of Russia Vladimir Putin in the Kazakhstanskaya Pravda newspaper, "Russia – Kazakhstan: a Forward-Looking Alliance Demanded by Life" (November 27, 2024)
Read in full
💬 On the eve of my regular state visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan, I would like to share my vision of the current state and future of the relations between our two countries on the pages of the authoritative Kazakhstanskaya Pravda newspaper.
🇷🇺🇰🇿🤝 The cooperation between Russia and Kazakhstan has been a genuine alliance, which continues to develop actively in all directions.
Our partnership is underpinned by traditions of friendship, good neighbourliness and mutual assistance and relies on unwavering principles of equality and consideration of each other's interests. The peoples of Russia and Kazakhstan are connected by the bonds of similar cultural, spiritual and moral values, centuries of living in one State, as well as shared achievements and victories.
The strong good personal relationship that Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and I have developed after the years of joint work, are yet another proof of the level of our two States’ ties. We regularly call each other and meet in various formats. We constantly coordinate our positions on pressing bilateral, as well as on regional and global issues, and make plans for the future. The most important thing is that both President Tokayev and I have always sought specific results and tried to do our utmost to ensure the best possible conditions to enable further steady development of Russian-Kazakh cooperation, the prosperity of our countries, and the improving of the quality of life of our citizens.
Russia is one of Kazakhstan's major economic partners. Our states have actively supported Eurasian economic integration and were among the founders of the Eurasian Economic Union, where we have been developing a common market of goods, services and capital, removing regulatory and trade barriers and creating a common transport and logistics infrastructure. All of this enables us to cooperate effectively in various economic areas and substantially benefits our countries.
The impressive volume of our bilateral trade speaks for itself. Last year it reached a new peak hitting the USD 28 billion mark, and already exceeded USD 20 billion between January and September 2024.
<...>
🏅 I would like to emphasize that next year the peoples of our countries will celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. We look forward to seeing President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and our other Kazakh friends at the anniversary celebrations in Moscow on 9 May. Both Russia and Kazakhstan remember and sacredly honour the feat of their fathers and grandfathers, who fought shoulder to shoulder against Nazism. And we must certainly do our utmost to ensure that future generations remember the cost of defending peace and freedom. This is especially important now, at a time when a more just multipolar world order is formed based on equal cooperation and new opportunities for sovereign development.
Russia and Kazakhstan are at the forefront of these processes and take similar positions with regard to the key role of international law in interstate relations, and the need to take into account the interests of all countries in matters of global security, stability and sustainable development. It is on the basis of these approaches that our countries cooperate productively within multilateral organizations, such as the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
<...>
❗️ I would like to emphasize once again that Russia is willing to continue developing multifaceted relations of friendship and alliance with the Republic of Kazakhstan for the benefit of our peoples. I wish all citizens of Kazakhstan success, well-being and prosperity.

📰 Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s interview with "Rossiyskaya Gazeta" newspaper (November 27, 2024)
Key points:
#UkraineCrisis
• No matter what the adversary does to escalate the situation, it will never make us renounce efforts to achieve the special military operation’s goals.
• In Ukraine’s case, this deals with addressing the root causes of the conflict, which include the emergence of entrenched security threats for Russia along its western borders, including NATO’s eastward expansion, as well as recurrent and systematic violations by the Kiev regime of the rights of Russians and people identifying themselves as Russians in terms of their cultural affiliation and the Orthodox faith.
• A political settlement must include the demilitarization and de-Nazification, while also ensuring the unaligned, neutral, non-nuclear status for the territories controlled by the Kiev regime.
❗️Of course, any agreements will hinge upon recognising the political and territorial reality as per the Constitution of Russia.
#MiddleEast
• The situation in the Middle East continues to deteriorate.
• All this directly stems from Israel’s aggressive, militarist policy, coupled with Washington’s efforts to monopolize the mediation process while throwing the UN Security Council decisions under the bus, despite the fact that these documents were adopted by consensus.
• Bringing the situation with the Israeli-Palestinian conflict back to normal is the only path to improving the situation across the Middle East, including in Lebanon. <...> Creating conditions for achieving a two-state solution would be the next step in terms of moving beyond the violent phase in this crisis.
#NOtoNeocolonialism
• The exploitation of former colonies by the colonial powers has never stopped. All it did was merely adjust its form, but the goal has remained the same, and it is to pump out resources from the countries of Asia, Africa, and Latin America to sustain the West’s dominance and ensure high living standards for its people.
• The developing countries keep raising the issue of their rightful spot in the global division of labour, which, in its current form, is a stark manifestation of modern neocolonialism in and of itself.
#ClimateAgenda
• Our priority during these discussions is to depoliticize cooperation on climate issues. Our goals in this sphere should be realistic, and their implementation should promote a balanced socio-economic development of all countries.
• We regard the task of energy transition in the context of ensuring universal access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern sources of energy. The key role in this process belongs to natural gas, the cleanest hydrocarbon and an ideal transition fuel.
• We consistently protest against the accelerated green transformation, which Western countries are advocating. Their fixation on that subject has already caused an unjustified growth of energy prices and, consequently, unprecedentedly high prices of mineral fertilisers.

🎙 Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s answer to a question from 'Moscow. Kremlin. Putin' television programme (Astana, November 28, 2024)
❓ Question: There is ongoing discourse in the United States regarding the potential transfer of nuclear weapons to Kiev. Some of their politicians are expressing such views. While currently, these are merely discussions, it is worth noting that initially, this was the case with other matters as well...
💬 Sergey Lavrov: Politicians, by their very nature, continuously seek to capture and maintain public attention. We have our share of politicians who frequently speak about escalation.
The decision rests with the Supreme Commander-in-Chief. I hold the hope that this is similarly the case in the United States.
❓ Question: There are already considerations there about NATO executing preventive precision strikes on Russian territory...
💬 Sergey Lavrov: This statement was made by Admiral Rob Bauer, an utterly irresponsible individual. There are numerous such figures there who have never experienced combat yet adorn themselves with shoulder boards. They are likely attempting to ingratiate themselves, sensing the current political climate.

🗓 On November 28, 1943, the Tehran Conference opened as the first face-to-face meeting between the leaders of the USSR, the United States and Great Britain during World War II. Chairman of the Council of People’s Commissars of the USSR Joseph Stalin, President of the United States Franklin Delano Roosevelt, and Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Winston Churchill spent four days discussing ways to strengthen the coalition for defeating Hitler and the post-war world order.
Our country’s success on the frontline was a key factor which made this conference possible. In fact, the war entered a new stage in February 1943 after the USSR defeated the Nazi troops in Stalingrad, while the effective offensive by the Soviet troops along the Kursk Bulge in the summer of 1943 persuaded the Western leaders that the days were counted for the Third Reich.
☝️ It is an established fact that Nazi spies conceived a special operation in Tehran to assassinate the Big Three leaders. However, the Soviet intelligence officers prevented this act of sabotage just a few days before the event was expected to begin. Over 400 German agents were arrested.
At the conference, the final decision on the timeframe for opening a second front in Europe was the main diplomatic victory for the USSR. Heated debates led to the signing of the Military Conclusions of the Tehran Conference, which stipulated that US and British troops would launch their landing operation in Normandy, France, during May 1944.
The conference’s agenda also covered:
✔️ the post-war world order, including the borders between European countries;
✔️ the decision on USSR entering the war against Japan after defeating Germany;
✔️ an idea of setting up some kind of an organisation in charge of preserving peace – it was a harbinger of UN’s establishment.
✍️ The three powers adopted a declaration reaffirming their commitment to “work together in war and in the peace that will follow.”
During the conference, Winston Churchill presented a ceremonial longsword to Joseph Stalin on behalf of King George VI of the United Kingdom as a token of homage to the courage of the Soviet defenders of Stalingrad. It was later transferred to the Battle of Stalingrad Museum in Volgograd.

🗓 On November 28, 1915, renowned Soviet writer, poet, playwright, publicist, and military journalist Konstantin Simonov was born in Petrograd.
His name in Soviet and world literature is associated with the era of the Great Patriotic War, hard and trying war times for the country and its people.
In 1939, after graduating from the Maxim Gorky Literature Institute, young poet Konstantin Simonov was posted to Mongolia as military correspondent for the 'Geroicheskaya Krasnoarmeyskaya' (Heroic Red Army) newspaper. As a post-graduate student, Simonov gained his first professional "baptism of fire" there, reporting on the battles of #KhalkhinGol river between the Red Army and Japanese troops.
✍️ During the Great Patriotic War, Simonov worked as journalist for numerous frontline newspapers, including 'Boyevoye Znamya' (the Combat Banner), 'Izvestia', 'Krasnaya Zvezda' (the Red Star), and the leading and most authoritative national outlet 'Pravda'. During that time, Simonov created his most iconic poems and novels, such as "Russian People", "So It Will Be" (plays), and acclaimed short novel "Days and Nights", which was the first in Soviet literature to depict the Battle of Stalingrad.
Simonov's wartime poetry, including "Remember, Alyosha, the Roads of Smolenshchina..." and "Wait for Me", reflected the extraordinary fortitude of the Soviet people amid difficult challenges and horrors of the #WWII.
🖋 The verses from poem "Wait for Me" (1941):
☝️These soul-touching and inspiring piece literally gave hope for the entire #WWII generation of Soviet people, and was commended by the leadership of the #USSR so that "Wait for Me" was published on the leader of "Pravda" newspaper — it was the first time that the central national outlet, which traditionally covered only official news, featured a poem. Simonov gained nationwide recognition, and became an icon to soldiers, home-front workers, and citizens all across the entire country.
The Red Army commanders who Simonov worked side-by-side with, often remembered his courage during the war on the front, noted he was always present on the forward edge of battle positions, despite shelling or attacks by the enemy.
In the post-war era, Simonov served as editor-in-chief of the Soviet magazine "Novy Mir" (the New World) and later as chief editor of the "Literaturnaya Gazeta" (Literature Newspaper). He continued his career as journalist for "Pravda" in Central Asia, Siberia, and in the Far East.
Apart from journalism, Simonov devoted himself to supporting veterans of #WWII. According to his contemporaries, Simonov regularly responded to letters from unknown soldiers and officers, helping them with housing, pensions, and obtaining prosthetics. He never gave up writing pieces about the life and fate of the Soviet people who endured and went through the most devastating war in history of mankind, so that future generations would never forget about it.
🕯 Konstantin Simonov passed away on August 28, 1979. As per his will, the poet's ashes were scattered in a field near the city of Mogilev, the site, as he described, "the very piece of land where in July 1941, our soldiers just in one day destroyed and burned 39 German tanks..."

By your waiting for me, dear,
You had saved my life.
How I made it, we shall know,
Only you and I.
You alone knew how to wait -
We alone know why!

⚡️ Amidst growing futile attempts of the 'collective West' and their Ukrainian puppets to reignite the anti-Russian sentiment by fabricating hoaxes and fakes, one should pay close attention to the well-documented evidence meticulously gathered by the Russian MFA and Investigative Committee of the Kiev regime's cruel and barbaric crimes against its own citizens, civilians, journalists, ethnic and linguistic groups.

🎙 From Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s remarks at the roundtable discussion held by the Foreign Ministry’s Diplomatic Academy "Ukraine Crisis: Global Information Space" (Moscow, November 29, 2024)
💬 Sergey Lavrov: <...> When Zelensky's regime openly states that it is literally on the hunt for Russian mass media... the West either keeps mum or condones it.
It was proven that the Ukrainian security services were directly involved in targeting assassinations of Russian journalists, Daria Dugina, Oleg Klokov, Maxim Fomin, Rostislav Zhuravlyov, Boris Maksudov, and many, many others.
We haven't heard a word of condemnation, not a single one of these heinous terrorist attacks from the enlightened Western countries. And the same happened when the Russian journalists were killed in the Donbass long before the special military operation was launched.
And the scandal with the report of the UNESCO Secretariat on the safety of journalists that were killed in carrying out their professional duties is well known.
❌ The well-known facts about the deaths of Russian journalists are not even mentioned in that document.
👉 That's why Madam Azoulay, Director General of UNESCO, is a direct accomplice in the information warfare against Russia and against truth in general.
The media landscape remains the key battleground continues to be the main battleground of the aggressive campaign launched by the West against Russia and other countries of the global majority that adhere to independent domestic and foreign policy. Ukraine has turned into another testing ground for the use and for the test of sophisticated methods to manipulate public opinion, <...> for the promotion of fakes, but it is also a testing ground for Western weapons, and they don't hide it.
<...>
They do everything they can to polarize the operations of multilateral human rights structures. The Russian journalists I mentioned, who were killed by the Ukrainian Nazis, are not even talked about in the Western countries.
👉 <...> Such structures as UNESCO, OSCE, Council of Europe are obliged, in line with the charter documents, to observe human rights, the rights of journalists. And these structures over the past years have demonstrated their total unscrupulousness and incompetence, their silence, their inaction.
<...> Pandering to the criminal Kiev regime leads to human casualties.

🎙 Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s remarks at Ambassadorial Round Table Discussion, “Ukraine crisis: Global information space” (Moscow, November 29, 2024)
💬 The collective West has long been using information warfare techniques to distort information in order to get ahead with its dirty geopolitical plots.
I’d like to share a historical anecdote with you. <...> In the late 18th and early 19th centuries, a special Bible for the British colonies, Select Parts of the Holy Bible for the Use of the Negro Slaves in the British West-India Islands, was published, also known in the world biblical studies as The Slave Bible. They took 90 percent of the Old Testament and 50 percent of the New Testament out of it. In order to enslave the souls and minds of millions of slaves, the forefathers of today’s Western liberals censored the Holy Scriptures, and removed sections of it that could instill in the slave labourers’ minds the idea that all people are equal before God. The Slave Bibles had been published in London since the early 19th century.
Little has changed since then.
🔻 The Kiev regime operates under direct control of the Anglo-Saxons and their NATO satellites, and acts in line with British colonial practices. It uses many modern-day ultra-liberal Western ideology techniques. Cancel culture is one such technique. The systematic rewriting and falsifying by Ukrainian propagandists of their own past, including blotting out entire chapters from history textbooks, is part of that approach. <...>
🔻 The countries of the collective West, which like to speak about the freedom of speech, pluralism and democracy, actually demonstrate a fierce intolerance of any alternative views. In this context, they have predictably focused their attacks on Russian media outlets such as RT and Sputnik. <...>
👉 Germany has recently banned the broadcasting of Russia’s Channel One and expelled its journalists. We provided a symmetrical response. Similar things happen every day. <...>
The media still serves as one of the main frontlines in the aggressive campaign the collective West has launched against Russia, as well as against other countries within the Global Majority which pursue an independent domestic and foreign policy. Ukraine has turned into yet another testing ground for deploying and testing sophisticated methods for manipulating public opinion. <...>
Washington, London, and EU capitals are all trying to sweep under the carpet the crimes perpetrated by their underlings in Ukraine and justify them. In doing so, they have been relying on their media as a powerful tool while blocking any sources of unwanted news. They have gone to great lengths to paralyse international human rights bodies. Moreover, the fact that Russian journalists have been dying at the hands of Ukrainian Nazis, as I have already mentioned, is a non-topic in the West. <...>
❗️ Entities like UNESCO, OSCE and the Council of Europe have a mandate under their statutory documents to promote human rights, including ensuring safety for journalists. In recent years, they have demonstrated their extreme opportunism and inability to live up to their mission by remaining silent and failing to act.
***
But information wars, lies or fake news will not help the neo-Nazi Kiev regime. The special military operation’s goals and objectives will be achieved.
However, achieving a lasting and sustainable settlement in the Ukraine conflict would be impossible unless we remove its root causes. These primarily include:
▪️creating lasting security threats for Russia along its western borders resulting from NATO’s expansion,
▪️ NATO’s efforts to absorb Ukraine,
▪️ the system-wide effort by the Kiev regime to strip Russians and Russian speakers in its own country of their rights.

🗓 On December 1, 1959, the indefinite Antarctic Treaty was signed. This historic document preserved the status quo, froze territorial claims, and established principles regulating the activities of all states in this vital coldest region on the planet.
🧊 The Antarctic region includes the continent of Antarctica, discovered in 1820 by Russian explorers Fabian Bellingshausen and Mikhail Lazarev, and the adjacent southern waters of the Atlantic, Indian, and Pacific Oceans.
🌐 Today, 54 states are parties to the Antarctic Treaty, with 29 of them, including Russia, holding consultative status, allowing them to participate in decision-making processes. Over time, an international system of agreements has been developed around the Treaty, regulating environmental protection, fisheries, tourism, and mineral resource exploration in the region.
📖 Key provisions of the treaty:
• The signatory countries renounced attempts to assert sovereignty over their zones of influence and refrained from disputing the rights of other countries.
• Antarctica was declared a demilitarized zone: military activity, the construction of military bases, and weapons testing are strictly prohibited.
• The region is open to international scientific research, information exchange, and cooperation.
🇷🇺 Russia is an active party to the Treaty. The Russia's Foreign Policy Concept emphasizes the country's commitment to preserving and further developing the Antarctic Treaty System.
🐧 Russia carries out scientific research in Antarctica. The Russian Antarctic Expedition, managed by the Arctic and Antarctic Research Institute (AARI), operates five year-round research stations on the continent: Novolazarevskaya, Bellingshausen, Mirny, Progress, and Vostok. During the summer, additional research is conducted at seasonal field bases, including Molodyozhnaya, Druzhnaya-4, Bunger Oasis, Russkaya, and Leningradskaya.

📃 Joint Statement of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus on their shared vision of the Eurasian Charter of Diversity and Multipolarity in the 21st Century
Common Vision of a Eurasian Charter of Diversity and Multipolarity in the XXI century
💬 We, the representatives of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus proceed from the recognition of the following key realities of our time:
DIVERSITY AS THE WORLD'S FOUNDATION — Diversity in basics of life, civilizations, cultures, traditions, peculiar features of historical development and value systems has been inherent to the world, while the state's formation as the key unit of international relations has given rise to a diversity in forms of political governance and models of domestic social, economic, cultural and humanitarian development that states came to assume. <...>
MULTIPOLARITY ON THE HORIZON — The world's inherent diversity has set it on an inexorable trajectory towards multipolarity. The trend presents an opportunity to build a lasting, fair and inclusive democratic world order underpinned by peaceful coexistence for the sake of ensuring security and full prosperity for all countries based on mutually beneficial cooperation and genuine multilateralism. <...>
IMPORTANCE OF EURASIA — Factors like geographical location, size, population and resource potential have all combined to shape Eurasia in a historical perspective as a vital player in international relations, which still drives global development in general. It is Eurasia that makes a major contribution to sustained growth in the world economy while it is here that independent development centers strengthen their global reach. <...>
☝️ In this regard we commit ourselves to:
RELY ON INTERNATIONAL LAW — Be guided in our actions by the norms of international law, based on the UN Charter in its both entirety and interrelationship as well as on other international legally binding documents. <...>
CREATE A MULTIPOLAR WORLD — Promote efforts to establish, in a most accelerated manner possible, a multipolar world and a just global order. <...>
STRENGTHEN SECURITY — Build a new pan-continental security cooperation architecture predicated on the principles of indivisible security, justice, legitimacy, sustainability and joint contribution by stakeholders. <...>
MAKE USE OF EURASIAN MECHANISMS — Make use of multilateral cooperation mechanisms operating on the Eurasian continent, including, among others, the #EAEU, #CSTO, #CIS, #SCO, #ASEAN, #CICA, #LAS, #GCC and the #UnionState with regard to cooperation in specific areas, while promoting cross-platform activities and joint initiatives. <...>
🇷🇺🇧🇾 We, the representatives of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus invite all Eurasian states to join a dialogue on a whole range of issues that affect principles of cooperation in the multipolar era and that cover a pan-continental architecture of security; cooperation and development with the view to drafting a "Eurasian Charter of Diversity and Multipolarity in the XXI Century", while giving due consideration to the provisions set out in this document.
