Диктант Победы в Арктике
26 апреля 2025 года в преддверии празднования 80-й годовщины Победы в Великой Отечественной войне Генеральное консульство России на Шпицбергене распахнуло свои двери для участников международной патриотической акции «Диктант Победы» и стало одной из самых северных площадок ее проведения.
Мероприятие собрало 27 полярников Баренцбурга, в том числе учащихся и учителей школы российского поселка, ученых и исследователей Российского научного центра на архипелаге, а также работников государственного треста «Арктикуголь».
С приветственным словом к участникам обратились Генеральный консул А.А.Чемерило и директор школы Н.Ю.Бажукова.
Вопросы диктанта касались наиболее важных и ключевых событий Великой Отечественной войны, личностей великих полководцев, проявлений героизма воинов-победителей и увековечивания их памяти.
По итогам акции всем полярникам были вручены памятные свидетельства.

🗓 On April 26, 1945, the city of Brno, one of Czechoslovakia’s major industrial centres, was liberated by the Red Army from the Nazi invaders as part of the Bratislava-Brno offensive.
After the Soviet forces expelled the Nazis from Bratislava, the Red Army breached the Wehrmacht’s Moravia massive defensive line, encircling the Brno sector on April 22. The next day, the Soviet soldiers launched the decisive attack on the Nazis.
Following the occupation of Czechoslovakia, Brno had turned into a major Third Reich industrial and production hub where the Skoda and Zbrojovka weapons manufacturers were located, as well as a sub-camp of Auschwitz-Birkenau (Oswiecim).
The city being strategically important, the Nazi invaders mounted counterattacks in a desperate effort to halt the Red Army’s onslaught. However, by April 25, Soviet units had already reached several sectors of Brno, engaging the enemy on its outskirts and crossing the Svitava River. By the evening of April 26, the Soviet forces took full control of the city. On the same day, a 20-volley artillery salute of 224 guns was performed in Moscow to mark the event.
🎖 The 1st Czechoslovak Army Corps commanded by Ludvík Svoboda, along with Czechoslovak partisans, were actively involved in the liberation of country, providing substantial support to the Red Army units. Six Czechoslovak citizens were awarded the noscript of Hero of the Soviet Union for their deeds during the Great Patriotic War, more than any other foreign nationals.
☝️The liberation of Brno allowed the Red Army to launch an offensive on the remaining enemy forces and clearing the way to Nazi-occupied Prague.
The monument to the Soviet liberator soldier, unveiled on Brno’s Moravian Square, commemorates the Red Army’s heroic deeds. Unfortunately, it has been repeatedly vandalised. We trust that there are still those in the Czech Republic who cherish the memory of the fallen heroes.

🗓 On April 25, 2025, a solemn ceremony to lay flowers and wreaths at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier was held in Alexander Garden, attended by members of the diplomatic corps accredited in Moscow, senior officials of the Russian Foreign Ministry, and representatives of the Ministry’s veterans’ organisations.
Over 150 foreign ambassadors and diplomats participated in the ceremony, honouring those who fell in the struggle against Nazism.
🕯 Attendees paid tribute to the heroism and self-sacrifice of soldiers who did not return from the battlefield, observing a minute of silence.
The broad participation of representatives from foreign states in this ceremony unequivocally demonstrated that the valiant deeds of the heroes who saved the world from the fascist menace remain remembered and revered globally.

🎙 Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova’s comment on the liberation of the Kursk Region (April 26, 2025)
💬 On April 26, with the liberation of the village of Gornal, the Kursk Region was completely cleansed of the Ukrobanderite occupiers and foreign militants.
It became possible thanks to the unbending strength of spirit and heroism of many people who selflessly, day after day, did their best to defeat the enemy who had treacherously invaded our land.
This is not the first time in history that the Kursk Region has become a theatre of military operations, whose outcome determined so much. More than 80 years ago, in the summer of 1943, Hitler's Germany, in an attempt to defeat the Red Army, concentrated here a significant strike force.
The Nazis threw their, as they thought, best forces into the battle, including SS tank divisions. It did not work. The failure of the Kursk Bulge battle for the Nazis is well known to everyone.
In August 2024, the Kiev regime, following the same schemes as its ideological idols, also decided to put its fate to the test.
The terrorist attack on the Kursk Region involved elite units of Ukraine's armed units supplemented with Western weapons and armoured vehicles. Its preparation and execution were carried out by foreign military advisers. This barbaric attack was presented to the international community as an operation to "demonstrate the combat capability of the Ukrainian army" and "improve Ukraine's negotiating positions."
The enemy faced the unwavering steadfastness and courage of our soldiers and officers, who, at the cost of their lives, did not allow the Ukro-Nazis to penetrate deep into the region, and then liberated it metre by metre. As a result, the enemy was completely defeated and the remnants of its troops were thrown out of the Kursk Region.
We admire the valour of the Russian Federation servicemen who took part in combat operations in this area. Their unequalled valour, bravery and readiness for self-sacrifice made it possible to successfully carry out combat tasks assigned to them.
🇷🇺🤝🇰🇵 A new page has appeared in the glorious chronicle of the combat brotherhood between the Russian and the Korean peoples.
The soldiers of the Korean People's Army, in accordance with the Treaty on Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Russia and the DPRK, which entered into force on December 4, 2024, fought shoulder to shoulder, in the same trench and shed blood with our soldiers and officers in the Kursk Region and made a significant contribution to the liberation of the Russian land from the enemy invaders.
The Kursk people, who were forced to leave their homes, lost contact with their relatives and were subjected to atrocities and torture by Ukrainian militants, bore an enormous burden of the invasion. We pay tribute to those of them who, in the first days of the tragedy, did not tremble in the face of heavily armed thugs and stood up to defend their land, often at the cost of their own lives.
The Russian law enforcement authorities are carrying out a thorough investigation into all crimes committed in the Kursk Region by Ukrainian militants and foreign mercenaries. Those involved will be identified, prosecuted and punished to the full extent of the law.
❗️Following the Kursk Region, all territories of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation still under the Kiev regime's control, including the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics, the Zaporozhye and Kherson Regions, will definitely be liberated.

Key talking points
• We continue our contacts with the American Side on the situation in Ukraine. There are several signs that we are moving in the right direction, first of all, because President Trump is probably the only leader on Earth who recognized the need to address the root causes of this situation. When he said that it was a huge mistake to pull Ukraine into NATO, and this was a mistake by the Biden administration, and he wants to rectify this.
• We only target military goals or civilian sites used by the military. President Putin expressed this for so many times, and this is not different this time as well. We never consciously target civilian sites, unlike the Zelensky regime.
• The Trump administration is interested in searching for a balance of interests. They sincerely want to understand better the Russian position. And they're getting this understanding. And we understand better the American position through negotiations and meetings and discussions, which we have with them.
• We are really polite people. And unlike some others, we never discuss in public what is being discussed in negotiations. Otherwise, negotiations are not serious.
• Whenever we discuss Iran, Venezuela, North Korea, anything, American negotiators put on top human rights. They have claims in this regard to China, to us, to anybody. But whenever Europeans and other Western nations speak about Ukraine, nobody can even mumble the words "human rights".
• We have nothing against American companies, but those companies who decided to leave their business in Russia might find that their place has been already taken by Russian or other foreign investors. And in this case, we would not make any decisions which would discriminate those who came to invest in Russia instead of Americans. If American companies would like to come to a place which is not yet occupied, if they want to propose a project, a new project on top of the previous business ties, of course, we will look into this. And if we find balance of our interests, I think it would be only natural to get into business together.
• We have been promoting for many years in the United Nations a resolution prohibiting putting any nuclear weapons into outer space. The country which is categorically against it is the United States. At least during the Biden administration, this was the case, they were categorically against it. At the same time, the United States promotes an approach according to which they want to prohibit putting conventional weapons in outer space. And they cannot answer the question, "Does this mean that nuclear weapons, they would be planning to move to the orbit?"
• It was the United States which broke the process of strengthening strategic stability. And if the United States is willing to get back to this track, we will see what are the conditions under which this might be possible.
• We welcome the dialogue between the US and Iran. We would be certainly ready to help if both parties believe this is going to be useful. And they know that we are ready.

⚡️ Statement by the President of the Russian Federation
On April 26, 2025, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation completed the defeat of a group of Ukrainian militants that invaded the Kursk Region, putting an end to the criminal provocation perpetrated by the Ukrainian authorities in an attempt to seize part of the Russian Federation territory.
Units of the Korean People’s Army played an active role in the defeat of the neo-Nazi formations of the Kiev regime that invaded our territory, in full compliance with international law and in accordance with the letter and spirit of the Treaty on Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the Russian Federation and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea of June 19, 2024 – in particular, Article 4 of the Treaty, which requires each of the Parties to provide immediate military assistance in the event of an armed attack against the other.
🇰🇵 Our Korean friends' decision was guided by a sense of solidarity, justice and genuine comradery. We highly appreciate this and are sincerely grateful, personally to the Chairman of State Affairs, Comrade Kim Jong-un, as well as the entire leadership and the people of the DPRK.
We commend the DPRK soldiers’ heroism, their excellent training and dedication displayed while fighting, shoulder to shoulder with Russian soldiers, defending our Motherland as their own. They fulfilled their duty with honour and valour, covering themselves with unfading glory.
The Russian people will never forget the heroism of the DPRK special forces. We will always honour the heroes who gave their lives for Russia, for our common freedom, fighting side by side with their Russian brothers in arms.

Everyone who has been to St. Petersburg knows the architectural masterpieces of Carlo Rossi!
He was dubbed “the first in taste and talent” and this was no exaggeration. He thought globally: when taking on a new project, he didn’t just create a building, but also designed an entire block around it.
General Staff
He united the Corps of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the General Staff with a majestic triumphal arch in honor of the victory in the Patriotic War of 1812, thereby completing the ensemble of the palace square.
Mikhailovsky Palace
Emperor Alexander I commissioned the construction of a palace for his younger brother, Grand Duke Mikhail Pavlovich. Between the Moika River and Nevsky Prospekt, a magnificent mansion with a square, as well as two new streets – Inzhenernaya and Mikhailovskaya – and a garden overlooking the Field of Mars arose. The monarch personally accepted the work from Rossi and presented him a diamond ring and awarded him an order for his efforts. Later, the palace was transferred to the Russian Museum.
Alexandrinsky Theater
The architect decorated the building in the Russian Empire style with a deep loggia and a sculptural frieze with antique masks and statues of muses. He also chose an ultramodern solution for the time: the auditorium consisted of a parterre, an amphitheater and boxes arranged in five tiers. Rossi also designed the ornaments that decorate the royal box and the boxes near the stage. In addition, Rossi even thought out a system of corridors and staircases, thanks to which 1,700 spectators could move around inside without crowding.

Сейчас на границе Казахстана и России к системе подключены 24 автомобильных пункта, в мае подключат ещё 4. В этом году онлайн-очереди внедрят и на границе с Кыргызстаном. Cистема призвана минимизировать коррупционные риски в сфере международных перевозок.
🇰🇬 В первом квартале 2025 года в Кыргызстане наибольшим спросом пользовались армянские товары на Wildberries. Покупки таких товаров в Кыргызстане увеличились на 96% по сравнению с первым кварталом 2024 года. В топ-5 популярных категорий декор интерьера, ювелирные украшения, продукты, белье, мебель малых форм. При этом у россиян наибольшим предпочтением пользовались бытовая химия, здоровье, хранение вещей, книжная продукция, продукты.
🇷🇺 Российские инвестиции в экономику Казахстана выросли на 32% и достигли в 2024 году рекордных $4 млрд. За 20 лет РФ вложила более $26 млрд прямых инвестиций в РК, заявил премьер страны Бектенов на переговорах с российским коллегой Мишустиным. Сейчас в Казахстане работают более 23 тыс. предприятий с российским участием – это почти 40% от всех компаний с иностранным участием в стране.

During the first three months of 2025, the armed formations of the Kiev regime systematically shelled objects of civilian infrastructure on the territory of the Russian Federation, deliberately targeting civilians.
During this period, at least 22,221 munitions were fired at civilian targets. In total, since February 2022, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have fired at least 251,865 munitions of various calibres and modifications at Russian civilian sites.
❗️ A sharp increase in the number of Ukrainian shelling attacks was recorded in the last weeks of March. This is how Kiev reacted to the start of the negotiating process between Moscow and Washington. The number of attacks during this period reached 300 per 24 hours, or more than 2,000 per week, which is approximately 25% higher than the weekly figures for January and February.
The increase in the number of civilian victims documented in the second half of March is directly linked to Kiev’s attempts to oppose the search for a peaceful settlement and to the thwarting of the agreement on a 30-day moratorium on strikes on energy facilities. The Ukrainian side deliberately carried out a number of targeted attacks on crowded places resulting in numerous civilian victims.
▪️ Civilian sites in the Belgorod Region, the Donetsk People’s Republic, the Kherson, Kursk and Zaporozhye regions, as well as the Lugansk People’s Republic, were most frequently shelled during the above-mentioned period.
• From January 1, 2025 to March 31, 2025, there were at least 1,489 verified civilian victims resulting from the Ukrainian forces’ attacks:
🔻 1,197 people, including 63 minors, wounded;
🔻 292 civilians, including five children, killed.
• At least 21,002 civilian victims caused by the Ukrainian formations’ attacks since the beginning of the conflict:
🔻 14,287 people, including 880 minors, wounded;
🔻 6,715 people, including 218 children, killed.
During this period, victims of numerous murders committed by Ukrainian militants in the Kursk Region’s villages of Russkoe Porechnoye, Makhnovka, and Cherkasskoe Porechnoye were found. The bodies of civilians were discovered in the town of Chasov Yar, DPR, who had been killed by the Ukrainian military while attempting to evacuate from the war zone. Moreover, fresh burials of civilians with signs of violent death have been found in the village of Dvurechnaya, Kharkov Region, which was liberated from Ukrainian neo-Nazis.

Since the beginning of the year, the AFU militants have intensified a targeted manhunt for media teams covering the special military operation and the Kiev regime’s criminal acts against civilians on the frontline territories. A premeditated attack on a group of journalists in the Kremennaya District, LPR, is a compelling example. A US-made HIMARS MLRS was used to kill three Russian journalists on the spot. All in all, over the past three months, 13 Russian media workers fell victim to criminal actions of the Ukrainian armed forces. Six of them died.
