✨ On September 15, representatives of the diplomatic corps took part in the cultural event "Dance Overture to the World" – an international project organized by the Russian National Ballet Kostroma. It is part of a series of events for foreign diplomats aimed at sharing and promoting Russian culture.
More than 100 diplomats from 40 countries were present at the event, alongside representatives of the Federation Council, the State Duma, the Ministry of Culture, and foreign students from Russian universities. In total, more than 500 people attended the show. Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Pankin delivered welcoming remarks.
🌏 The "Dance Overture to the World" aims to expand and strengthen friendly ties between #BRICS and its partner countries, as well as to form an international choreographic community based on the BRICS Alliance of Folk Dance Culture, which was established in 2024 following a meeting of the BRICS Ministers of Culture at the 10th St Petersburg International United Cultures Forum.

📢 Registration is now available: high school students from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Mongolia, India, Iran, Serbia, all African countries, and, for the first time, all Latin American countries are invited to participate.
Winners of the Olympiad will be granted the opportunity to study at MGIMO University of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs tuition-free in bachelor’s programs (taught either in Russian or in English), as well as in the preparatory program for international students.
Prize-winners will be granted priority admission to tuition-based places through the portfolio competition.
The Olympiad will be held in Russian and English. Participants will be assessed on their knowledge of Russian (for CIS countries only) and English, as well as their general knowledge of geography, world history, and international relations.
The competition will consist of two stages: the qualifying round will take place online in November 2025, and the final round will be held in February–March 2026 in a hybrid (online and in-person) format.

🗓 On September 17, 1939, the Red Army launched a military operation in Poland’s eastern regions, also known as the Red Army’s Polish Campaign.
Certain (pseudo)academic circles and mainstream media in the West intentionally promote an excessively biased interpretation of these events seeking to equate the Third Reich and the USSR and cast our country as an aggressor.
❗️ Such approach is completely at odds with the historical truth.
Britain and France, which had played their role in fostering Hitler’s aggression in Europe and redirecting it eastward, were not willing to fulfill their alliance commitments to Poland, having just formally declared a war against the Third Reich, and refrained from direct military confrontation.
The French army did not even attempt to prevent the redeployment of the Wehrmacht units to the East. As Nazi general Alfred Jodl later testified at the Nuremberg trials, "if the Reich did not fail in 1939, it was only because during the Polish campaign, approximately 110 French and British divisions, stationed in the West, took no action against Germany’s 23 divisions".
Thus, Warsaw, which completely relied on support of Britain and France, was, in fact, abandoned by the allies and had to face Hitler’s aggression. Poland was doomed to meet the same fate that had Czechoslovakia a year earlier. Betrayed by its allies and falling victim to its own political miscalculation, the Polish leadership — which for years had prioritized collaboration with Nazi Germany — ultimately led its nation to catastrophe.
The Nazi army, possessing a threefold superiority in manpower and military equipment over the Polish defenders, decisively crushed the country. By mid-September, the fascists encircled the main Polish forces nearby Warsaw, and in the east, Wehrmacht reached the line which included Grajewo, Białystok, Brest, Vladimir Volynsky, Lvov and Stry.
The rapid collapse of the Polish statehood, a key strategic buffer between the Soviet Union and Germany, along with the treacherous wait-and-see tactics of the European powers in the face of fascist aggression (Moscow interpreted that as an attempt by the Western elites to once again reach an agreement with Hitler behind the USSR’s back), compelled the Soviet leadership to take decisive action aimed at eliminating the threats emanating from the Polish bridgehead seized by the Reich.
In Moscow, there was a clear understanding that an armed conflict with the Nazis was just a matter of time. Therefore, having a bigger distance between the major cities of the Soviet Union, on the one hand, and the Wehrmacht’s advance positions, on the other hand, would have provided the Red Army with more strategic and tactical advantages.
🌟 On September 17, 1939, the Red Army entered Poland's territory from its eastern border and took hold in Western Ukraine and Western Belarus with the aim of protecting the brotherly peoples who lived on those territories. Moreover, the advance of the Nazi troops towards the western borders of our country was halted.
The well-timed campaign by the Red Army helped save people in Eastern Poland, i.e., in Western Belarus and Western Ukraine, from genocide, including Jews, Ukrainians, Belarusians, Poles, Russians… The Soviet authorities enabled many Polish nationals and refugees to emigrate.
The Red Army did not go beyond the regions that were previously occupied by Poland in 1920 and 1921 following the Polish-Soviet War. The Soviet forces reached the so-called Curzon Line, a demarcation line designated as Poland’s eastern border by the Entente’s Supreme War Council.
☝️ Neither London, nor Paris viewed the USSR’s interference as an act of aggression — they did not voice any formal protests against Moscow, nor declared war against the Soviet Union.
The oft-repeated mantra and politically motivated claims of so-called dual aggression — Soviet and German — against Poland do not withstand any serious scrutiny and are just a vivid example of historical revisionism.

«Советский Союз и Норвегия вместе боролись с германским нацизмом. Наступление Красной Армии на северо-востоке Норвегии в октябре 1944 г., которое стоило жизни многих советских солдат, положило начало освобождению страны от нацистской оккупации.
В Норвегии захоронено около 13700 советских военнопленных, погибших в годы Великой Отечественной войны. На данный момент известны имена более 7800 человек, работа по идентификации погибших продолжается на национальном и местном уровне в России и Норвегии. Отмечаем значимый вклад волонтеров, в т.ч. проживающей в Норвегии соотечественницы Татьяны Торесен в поиск семей погибших здесь советских воинов и работу по идентификации имен наших солдат, оставшихся неизвестными.
Вопреки нагнетанию негатива вокруг России и попыткам фальсификации истории Второй мировой войны, простые норвежцы чтут память об освобождении севера Норвегии советскими войсками и с уважением относятся к советским захоронениям и памятникам, на которых выгравированы словам благодарности советским воинам от норвежского народа. Местные власти осуществляют должный уход за ними.
В этом году мы празднуем 80-летие Победы. Сотрудники Посольства регулярно посещают места захоронений советских воинов в Норвегии, чтобы почтить память погибших. Среди них особое место занимает захоронение и монумент Советскому солдату на кладбище «Вестре Гравлюнд» в Осло, где покоятся более 300 наших воинов. На одной из памятных плит выгравировано имя Петра Боцманова, расстрелянного фашистами на острове Брагдойя вблизи г.Кристиансанд на юге Норвегии 21 октября 1944 г. и впоследствии перезахороненного в братской могиле в Осло.
Дважды в год – 23 февраля и 9 мая – мы проводим памятные церемонии возложения венков к захоронению в «Вестре Гравлюнд». После завершения официальной программы поток людей не стихает – весь день они несут цветы, венки и записки со словами благодарности к монументу, поют песни военных лет и вспоминают истории своих родных. Память о подвиге Советского солдата жива, как жива память о Петре Боцманове».

🎙 Выступление Министра иностранных дел Российской Федерации С.В.Лаврова на посольском «круглом столе» на тему «Украинский кризис. Соблюдение целей и принципов Устава ООН» (Москва, 17 сентября 2025 года)
💬 С.В.Лавров: Сегодня проводим уже девятый «стол» в таком формате (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8).
Ценим интерес Мирового большинства в вашем лице к тем усилиям, которые предпринимаются в связи с украинским кризисом. Стараемся максимально открыто и конкретно доводить свою позицию, действия и планы до наших друзей.
В этот раз хотел бы посмотреть на происходящее, на его историю и на то, что сейчас имеет место через призму Устава ООН, ратифицированного всеми представленными здесь государствами, который закрепляет универсальные принципы, призванные регулировать межгосударственное общение.
Среди этих принципов – суверенное равенство государств, отказ от применения силы и угрозы силой, уважение прав человека без различия расы, пола, языка и религии. Под ними подписались все государства-члены ООН.
☝️ Но наши «коллеги» на Западе игнорируют принципы Устава Организации.
Например, Запад никогда не принимал во внимание суверенное равенство государств. Ретроспективно вспомните, какие были международные кризисы со времени создания ООН. Ни в одной из таких ситуаций Запад не уважал принцип суверенного равенства государств, считая себя выше других.
Если Запад и ссылается на те или иные принципы для оправдания своих действий, то делает это избирательно, выбирая лишь те принципы, которые в данной конкретной ситуации ему выгодны. В случае с Косово они говорили, что реализуют принцип самоопределения народов без всякого референдума, в одностороннем порядке объявив о независимости.
В других случаях, как это было с Крымом, когда более 95% жителей открыто, транспарентно проголосовали за воссоединение с Россией, Запад заявил, что в этом случае он не признаёт право нации на самоопределение и требует уважать принцип территориальной целостности.
Эти двойные стандарты нам хорошо известны.
Пришедшие в Киеве к власти в феврале 2014 года в результате вооруженного антиконституционного переворота националисты оказались там в результате нарушения ещё одного принципа Устава ООН – принципа невмешательства во внутренние дела суверенного государства. <...>
Нарушения международного гуманитарного права киевским режимом настолько очевидны, что их просто невозможно отрицать. Фактов предостаточно. Однако Секретариат занимает противоположную линию и пытается обелять действия киевского режима, хотя они нарушают такие ключевые требования международного гуманитарного права, как запрет размещать военную технику и огневые позиции в жилых кварталах, пытки, издевательства над военнопленными и гражданским населением.
Когда отдельные грубейшие нарушения международного гуманитарного права уже отрицать невозможно, тогда Секретариат ООН, стесняясь, выступает с обезличенными призывами к сдержанности, адресуя эти призывы к обеим сторонам...
Европа явно пытается достаточно беспардонно отвоевать себе место за столом переговоров, хотя с позиции реваншизма и нанесения России «стратегического поражения», которую она исповедует, за столом переговоров делать нечего.
❗️ Если никаких изменений в законодательстве Украины не произойдет, это будет означать, что на этой оккупированной Западом территории западные воинские подразделения защищают нацистский режим.

👉 Будем настаивать на том, чтобы были гарантии безопасности. Мы этого добивались и в феврале 2014 года, и через год, когда согласовали и одобрили в ООН Минские договоренности.
Гарантии безопасности должны полностью соответствовать обязательствам Запада, закреплённым и в Уставе ООН, и в принятых консенсусом документах ОБСЕ в Стамбуле в 1999 года и в Астане в 2010 года. Эти гарантии безопасности, как тогда было согласовано, должны опираться на принцип неделимости безопасности и на принцип, в соответствии с которым ни одна страна не имеет права укреплять свою безопасность за счет безопасности других. Именно этим сейчас Запад на Украине и старается заниматься, пытаясь спасти её от полного «краха».

• Неделя высокого уровня #ГАООН80 пройдёт на фоне нарастающей турбулентности на мировой арене, в основе которой в значительной степени лежит стремление «коллективного Запада» удержать ускользающее доминирование за счёт неоколониальных методов, попыток навязать одиозную концепцию «порядка, основанного на правилах».
• Российская делегация сфокусируется на продвижении объединительной повестки дня, укреплении основ многополярности, отстаивании справедливых подходов к урегулированию украинского, палестино-израильского и других острых кризисов, углублении сотрудничества со странами Мирового большинства.

• Киевский неонацистский режим не прекращает террористических атак против мирного населения и гражданских объектов.
• За минувшую неделю от обстрелов и ударов вражеских беспилотников пострадали 115 российских мирных жителей, из которых 7 человек погибли.
• По гражданским целям выпущено более 3700 боеприпасов. Число ежесуточных ударов достигло 530 — это максимум с начала года.

• До парламентских выборов в Молдавии (28 сентября) осталось 10 дней. Власти страны в попытке одержать «победу любой ценой» продолжают нагнетать антироссийскую истерику.
• 9 сентября Санду, выступая в Европарламенте, обвинила Россию в попытках подкупа молдавских избирателей. Какие доказательства были приведены? Никакие.
• Причина подобных выпадов в адрес России понятна: молдавские власти видят, к чему приводит их некомпетентная антинародная политика, и пытаются снять с себя ответственность.
• Большинство молдаван осуждают курс руководства страны. Как отмечают эксперты, выход в Кишинёве видят в продолжении политических репрессий в отношении оппонентов и подготовке почвы для масштабных фальсификаций.

• Запад сделал очередной шаг к развязыванию нового вооружённого конфликта на Балканах — в регионе, который до сих пор не залечил раны, нанесённые межэтническими столкновениями эпохи югославского кризиса 1990-х годов, где кровавая рука Запада творила беззаконие.
• В марте Хорватия заключила военный союз с Албанией и сербским автономным краем Косово и Метохия. 5 сентября достигнута договорённость об углублении оборонного сотрудничества Загреба с Любляной.
• Очевидно, что заявленное участниками стремление сохранить мир и стабильность на юго-востоке Европы является не более чем благовидным предлогом для дальнейшего нагнетания взрывоопасной атмосферы на Балканах в интересах западных столиц.
• Конечная цель [прозападных инициатив на Балканах], в основе которых лежит сербофобия, — полностью изолировать Сербию, окружить её враждебными силами, принудить поступиться исконными землями, суверенитетом и стать послушным звеном антироссийского фронта.

• 9 сентября в Каире состоялись переговоры Министра иностранных дел Исламской Республики Иран с Гендиректором МАГАТЭ, в ходе которых было заключено соглашение о практических аспектах применения гарантий в Иране, позволяющее активизировать взаимодействие между Тегераном и Агентством.
• Отмечаем в этом контексте последовательные шаги иранской стороны, направленные на приведение в действие упомянутого соглашения. Рассматриваем его как свидетельство ответственного подхода и подтверждение приверженности Тегерана достигнутым договорённостям, которые отвечают его национальным интересам.

According to the updated Rules of Navigation in the NSR water area, vessel captains must now submit mandatory information to the NSR General Administration FSBI in the following cases:

⚠️ Failure to comply with these obligations is considered a violation of navigation rules and entails administrative liability under Russian law.

⚡️ On September 18, the Russian Federation, in accordance with Article 84 of the 1944 Convention on International Civil Aviation (the Chicago Convention), challenged before the International Court of Justice the unfounded decision of the Council of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) on Russia’s alleged involvement in the crash of Malaysian Airlines Flight MH17.
The ICAO Council’s first-ever attempt to resolve, in essence, a dispute between parties to the Chicago Convention through its political body has ended in failure.
This was inevitable in a situation where the conclusions were tailored to fit a pre-determined outcome, where the position of one Side in the dispute was copied wholesale while the arguments of the other were ignored or distorted, where ICAO’s own procedures were violated, and where the Council’s decision was driven purely by political expediency.
Contrary to the requirements of the UN Security Council resolution 2166, the ICAO Council did not consider it necessary to conduct a full, thorough and independent international investigation into the circumstances of the disaster. Instead, it relied unquestioningly on the highly questionable results of the technical and criminal investigations conducted under the auspices of an interested Party – the Netherlands – drawing on fabricated “evidence” provided primarily by another interested Party – Ukraine.
The ICAO Council’s decision has, therefore, been appealed by the Russian Side in all respects – on grounds of jurisdiction, applicable law, factual basis, as well as in view of fatal procedural violations. The very fact of appeal in no way constitutes legitimization or recognition by Russia of any ICAO Council acts on this matter, the nullity of which Russia had already declared.
We expect that the International Court of Justice will demonstrate an entirely impartial approach in this high-profile case.
More than 11 years have passed since the tragic events involving flight MH17. Yet, it seems that the path toward establishing the truth will be a long one. Since the ICAO Council’s decision has been appealed, it has not entered into force. This will undoubtedly come as a great disappointment to The Hague and Canberra, which have already demanded compensation from Russia on the basis of the ICAO Council’s pseudo-legal exercise and were evidently preparing to “pillory” Russia at the 42nd ICAO Assembly session opening in Montreal on September 23.
❗️ Russia will continue to seek the truth in accordance with its obligations under the UN Charter and applicable rules of international law.

❓ Вопрос: Недавно в СМИ широко разошлась информация о вызовах послов Российской Федерации во внешнеполитические ведомства ряда европейских стран по поводу инцидента, связанного с нарушением воздушного пространства Польши некими беспилотниками. Как Вы могли бы это прокомментировать?
💬 М.В.Захарова: В связи с недавними демаршами ряда европейских столиц по поводу якобы нарушения 10 сентября воздушного пространства Польши российскими БПЛА хотелось бы сказать следующее.
Ситуация из раза в раз повторяется как под копирку. Ещё не ясны обстоятельства произошедшего, не проведено необходимое расследование, не собраны убедительные доказательства, а виновный уже назначен. И это, конечно же, Российская Федерация.
И на этот раз выдвигаемые в адрес России обвинения в попытках провокации и намеренной эскалации, как водится, голословны. 👉 Никаких конкретных обстоятельств приписываемого нашей стране злого умысла не приведено.
Та поспешность, с которой на Россию возложена ответственность за произошедшее, категорический отказ властей Польши от предложенных Минобороны России консультаций говорят о полной незаинтересованности «коллективного Запада» в установлении реальной картины инцидента.
Разумеется, разъяснения Минобороны России и изложенные факты игнорируются. Налицо – очередное звено масштабной информационной кампании в целях демонизации России и мобилизации дополнительной поддержки киевского режима, а также попытка срыва политического урегулирования конфликта вокруг Украины.
Между тем участникам «дроновой коалиции» по обеспечению Украины БПЛА, в которую входят 20 стран, следовало бы взглянуть в лицо действительно непреложным фактам ежедневных преступлений ВСУ, осознанно наносящих удары дронами по гражданским объектам и мирному населению российских регионов.
☝️ Морализаторство и демарши со стороны государств «коалиции» по поводу якобы нарушения Россией международного права на этом фоне откровенно лицемерны и неуместны.
Лишь за летний период 2025 года и начало сентября жертвами применения ВСУ поставляемых участниками «дроновой коалиции» беспилотников на территории России стали 132 человека, в том числе дети. Из них 16 человек погибли и 116 получили различные ранения.
Боевики неонацистского киевского режима практически круглосуточно ведут с помощью дронов настоящую охоту за беззащитными людьми, цинично целясь в детей, женщин, стариков. Удары осознанно наносятся по жилым домам, медицинским и социальным учреждениям, школам и магазинам. Только в Херсонской области под удары БПЛА попали и были разбиты 27 из 55 машин скорой помощи.
❗️ Поставляя беспилотники киевскому режиму, власти этих стран становятся соучастниками совершаемых современными бандеровцами преступлений и несут за это полную ответственность.
Будем регулярно информировать общественность об ударах, наносимых киевским режимом, в том числе с применением БПЛА, по территории России и её гражданскому населению.

Введение Норвегией запрета на промысел в своей исключительной зоне для двух российских компаний является грубым нарушением действующих соглашений о совместном управлении запасами морских биоресурсов. Такие действия подрывают эффективную систему управления и регулирования промысла в Северо-Восточной Атлантике, которая выстраивалась многими десятилетиями, свидетельствуют о явной незаинтересованности норвежской стороны в совместной работе по сохранению и воспроизводству биологических ресурсов моря.
Реагируя на эти недружественные шаги, российская сторона будет руководствоваться прежде всего своими национальными интересами, в т.ч. и в сфере рыболовства. Som svar på disse uvennlige tiltakene vil den russiske siden først og fremst følge sine nasjonale interesser, også på fiskeriområdet. ✨ Одним из самых доступных и комфортных мест для встречи с этим чудом природы остаётся Кольский полуостров: уже сейчас сияние можно наблюдать в Мурманске, Териберке и других уголках Заполярья.
🎨 Северное сияние всегда было источником вдохновения для художников. Причудливая игра полярного света в искусстве символизирует магию северной природы, а в мифологиях коренных народов олицетворяет огни душ умерших предков, которые путешествуют по небу.

Key points:
• Unlike all other Western figures, whose actions and positions boiled down to the mantra that “Ukraine is right,” that Russia must suffer a “strategic defeat,” and that Ukraine’s sovereignty must be restored within its 1991 borders, Donald Trump and his team have repeatedly demonstrated, including publicly, an understanding of the need to address the root causes of the conflict. Donald Trump has stated publicly on multiple occasions that drawing Ukraine into NATO was a mistake. He made it abundantly clear that, to achieve a settlement, these aspirations must be set aside and security must be built on different principles.
• We appreciated Donald Trump's openness and frankness back then and we do now. He doesn’t use underhand tactics, and he never conceals his thoughts. We appreciate his emphasis on results. He calls it making a deal in the broad sense of the word.
• We would like to maintain the current dialogue between our Presidents, Foreign Ministers, national security aides, and special envoys of the two Presidents, as well as communication via other channels. We see that the American side wants this too.
• All these Europeans made no secret of their previous and ongoing public efforts to dissuade US leadership from pursuing any constructive measures towards Russia within the context of the Ukrainian crisis. They seek to drag the United States back onto the treacherous path it followed under Joe Biden, when this was “Joe Biden’s war.” The Europeans are determined to make it “Donald Trump’s war” as well. They do not conceal this.
• President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly made it clear that, ultimately, a sustainable agreement means a compromise. We are prepared to seek a compromise provided that our legitimate security interests and the legitimate interests of the Russian people in Ukraine are ensured just as the legitimate interests of other parties to such an agreement are.
• The Trump administration recognises the importance of NATO-related issues. They’ve stated it publicly. There’s an understanding that the referenda in Crimea and other territories cannot be ignored. Any potential agreement must take the outcomes of these referenda into account.
• Undoubtedly, they seek to impede any agreement – they oppose a settlement that would terminate their protracted endeavours to transform Ukraine into a perpetual irritant, if not an explicit threat, to the Russian Federation. That is obvious.
• The war in Ukraine which the West has organised against us has proved that the Euro-Atlantic concepts have not lived up to the promises made during their creation.
• President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly stated: we have never had, do not have, and will never have any plans to attack any NATO or EU country. Since 2008, we have tabled documents guaranteeing indivisible security and ensuring that no country enhances its security at the expense of others. This was endorsed by all parties within OSCE summits.
• The new emerging economies continue to assert themselves. All forecasts point to this being a long-term and sustainable trend. <...> There is unity both within #BRICS and within the #SCO. We reject domination and diktat, and advocate for indivisible security across all regions.
• We have our own military-political alliances, primarily the Union State of Russia and Belarus. The CSTO and the SCO also have a strong military-political dimension related to ensuring the security of member states. None of these formats ever sought to be hostile towards anyone.
• President Putin advanced the initiative for creating a continental Eurasian security architecture in 2024, starting with joining the efforts and launching dialogue between subregional integration organisations and gradually moving towards a continental agreement.

• Undoubtedly, they seek to impede any agreement – they oppose a settlement that would terminate their protracted endeavours to transform Ukraine into a perpetual irritant, if not an explicit threat, to the Russian Federation. That is obvious.
• The war in Ukraine which the West has organised against us has proved that the Euro-Atlantic concepts have not lived up to the promises made during their creation.
• President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly stated: we have never had, do not have, and will never have any plans to attack any NATO or EU country. Since 2008, we have tabled documents guaranteeing indivisible security and ensuring that no country enhances its security at the expense of others. This was endorsed by all parties within OSCE summits.
• The new emerging economies continue to assert themselves. All forecasts point to this being a long-term and sustainable trend. <...> There is unity both within #BRICS and within the #SCO. We reject domination and diktat, and advocate for indivisible security across all regions.
• We have our own military-political alliances, primarily the Union State of Russia and Belarus. The CSTO and the SCO also have a strong military-political dimension related to ensuring the security of member states. None of these formats ever sought to be hostile towards anyone.
• President Putin advanced the initiative for creating a continental Eurasian security architecture in 2024, starting with joining the efforts and launching dialogue between subregional integration organisations and gradually moving towards a continental agreement.

🎙 Explanation of vote by Russian Permanent Representative Vassily Nebenzia after the UNSC Vote on a Draft Resolution on the Middle East, including the Palestinian Question (New York, September 18, 2025)
💬 We extend our gratitude to the non-permanent members of the Council for their initiative and perseverance in putting forward this UNSC draft resolution addressing the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip.
The Russian Federation voted in favor of this document, which outlines the key elements for a prompt settlement. These include an immediate and unconditional ceasefire, the release of all hostages held by Hamas, the lifting the severe humanitarian blockade of Gaza, and guaranteed safe and unimpeded humanitarian access to all those in need.
This is something we have consistently called for since the onset of the current escalation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict on October 7, 2023. The results of today’s vote have demonstrated that this is the very bedrock for resolving the Gaza crisis, which the overwhelming majority of the international community stands ready to support.
Regrettably, during this 10000th meeting of the Security Council, we have witnessed yet another American veto – the seventh one – blocking a resolution that would have halted the bloodletting.
There will be no breakthrough on the Middle East settlement as long as Washington’s perception of the Gaza crisis remains unchanged, and as long as it views multilateral diplomacy at the UN as an obstacle rather than a critically important tool.
❗️We urge our colleagues to acknowledge a simple truth. Their proclaimed “quiet diplomacy on the ground”, as they put it, is not being undermined by the reasoned voices of the global community, including those in this chamber. It is rather being undermined by concrete actions of their Israeli ally, which was glaringly evidenced by West Jerusalem’s aggressive maneuver against the sovereign state of Qatar, one of the key mediators in the negotiations.

In this regard, what carries key significance is the resumption of the international high-level conference on the Middle East settlement in New York next week.
We hope that the outcomes of the conference will be practical and constructive in nature and will breathe new life into the two-state solution, to which there is no alternative, and will never be any.
☝️ We call on the United States and Israel to join this process, rather than turn their backs on the international community – as was the case in the past – and obstruct its efforts to find a solution to this harrowing regional crisis.

Even if today's attempt failed, this does not mean that we have to throw in the towel.
We stand ready to act, and we will keep advancing our consistent stance on this matter, however long this may take.
👉 We cherish the hope that the other sane members of the UNSC share this view, because without a just and lasting solution to the Palestinian problem, without respect for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, it will not be possible to achieve a lasting settlement of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, nor genuine peace and stability in the Middle East.

⚡️ On 19 September 2025, three Russian MiG-31 fighter jets made a scheduled flight from Karelia to an airfield in the Kaliningrad region.
The flight was conducted in strict accordance with the International Rules for the Use of Airspace, without violating the borders of foreign states. It was confirmed by objective control footage.
The Russian aircraft did not deviate from the agreed route and did not violate Estonian airspace. The aircraft flight flew over the neutral waters of the Baltic Sea, more than three kilometres away from the island of Vaindloo.
