В эти дни в Санкт-Петербурге и Ленинградской области проходит ряд торжественно-траурных мероприятий. Сегодня были возложены цветы к Монументу героическим защитникам Ленинграда и Мемориалу в память о мирных жителях СССР. Ветеранов, петербуржцев и ленинградцев поздравили с памятной датой губернаторы А.Д.Беглов и А.Ю.Дрозденко. Спикер Заксобрания Санкт-Петербурга А.Н.Бельский напомнил, что на Пулковских высотах продолжается работа над мемориалом, посвящённым Ленинградской битве.
Подробная программа приуроченных к сегодняшнему дню событий — выставок, экскурсий и концертов — на портале «Культура Петербурга». Например, вчера в Военно-историческом музее артиллерии, инженерных войск и войск связи Министерства обороны Российской Федерации состоялось открытие фотовыставки «Ленинградская битва. Путь к Победе». Представительство МИД России в Санкт-Петербурге также проведёт мероприятие по случаю памятной даты — информация о нём будет опубликована на наших интернет-ресурсах.

🗓 On August 9, 1944, the Battle of Leningrad ended in victory for the Red Army.
The battle lasted 1'127 days, making it the longest of the Great Patriotic War. For more than three years, Soviet soldiers and officers fought fierce battles in the northwestern theatre, while the people in Leningrad bravely endured the horrors of the siege.
Capturing Leningrad was a major military and political objective for the Nazi leadership. Hitler planned to use Leningrad as a springboard to strike at the rear of the Soviet soldiers and officers defending Moscow. Instead of taking the city in three weeks, as Hitler expected, the Nazi troops spent more than three years at its approaches.
While the Red Army fiercely engaged the enemy in battle, the city's residents selflessly laboured and steadfastly endured the siege. Leningrad was completely encircled by enemy forces on September 8, 1941. More than 2.8 million people, including 400'000 children, found themselves in the enemy grip, facing harsh winters, famine and continuous bombing.
Favourable conditions finally developed in January 1943, when the main forces of the Wehrmacht were sent to Stalingrad. During Operation "Iskra" (Spark), the troops of the Leningrad and Volkhov fronts broke through the German defences, restoring the land connection of the city with the mainland.
The final stage of the Battle of Leningrad was the Vyborg–Petrozavodsk Offensive, when the Red Army broke through strong defenses and defeated German and Finnish forces on the Karelian Isthmus and in Southern Karelia.
Casualties among both the defenders and the civilian population of Leningrad due to the fighting and the siege totaled between 1.5 and 2 million.
Over 350'000 soldiers and officers of the Leningrad Front were decorated with orders and medals. The medal For the Defence of Leningrad was conferred on 1.5 million people. In 1965, Leningrad was among the first to receive the noscript Hero City as a tribute to the heroism and courage shown by its residents during the siege.

Отбор международных конкурсов на 2026 год проводится для формирования реестра международных партнёров на 2026 год. The selection of international competitions for 2026 is underway to establish a registry of international partners. The goal of this collaboration is to enable partners to work together to foster a positive image of the Russian Federation and Russian culture abroad. Together, they will organize events, information campaigns, and social initiatives to promote the Russian language, culture, and history in various countries. This collaboration will also strengthen the international status of the Artek International Children's Center by improving its educational, recreational, and health services for children. Additionally, it will promote Russian education abroad.
To participate in the selection process, the following is required:
🔸️Review the Regulations on the Selection of International Competitions for 2026;
🔸️Submit the necessary documents to artek.temp@artek.org by September 15, 2025.
Competition dates:

💬 Ю.Ушаков: Уважаемые коллеги!
Подготовка встречи президентов России и США вступила в завершающую фазу. Эта встреча, как вам всем хорошо известно, состоится на Аляске, в Анкоридже, а конкретно будет задействовано одно из помещений объединённой военной базы «Эльмендорф-Ричардсон».
Предусматривается, что все начнётся завтра, 15 августа, примерно в 11:30 по местному времени с беседы Владимира Владимировича Путина и Дональда Трампа. Эта беседа пройдёт в формате тет-а-тет, естественно, с участием переводчиков. Затем состоятся переговоры в составе делегаций, и эти переговоры продолжатся за рабочим завтраком.
🇷🇺 Состав участников уже определён: Министр иностранных дел Сергей Лавров, Помощник Президента по внешней политике Юрий Ушаков, Министр обороны Андрей Белоусов, Министр финансов Антон Силуанов и специальный представитель Президента по инвестиционно-экономическому сотрудничеству с зарубежными странами Кирилл Дмитриев.
После завершения переговоров Владимир Путин и Дональд Трамп проведут совместную пресс-конференцию, на которой подведут итоги состоявшихся переговоров.
Что касается повестки дня саммита, то, наверное, всем очевидно, что центральной темой будет урегулирование украинского кризиса, в том числе с учётом обсуждения, которое было проведено в Кремле, как вы помните, 6 августа с участием специального посланника Президента США Стивена Уиткоффа.
Но, естественно, будут затронуты и более широкие задачи обеспечения мира и безопасности, а также актуальные и самые острые международные и региональные вопросы. Ожидается обмен мнениями относительно дальнейшего развития двустороннего сотрудничества, в том числе в торгово-экономической сфере. Отмечу, что у этого сотрудничества огромный и, к сожалению, не задействованный до сих пор потенциал.
Рядом с военной базой, где будут проходить переговоры, на мемориальном кладбище захоронены девять советских лётчиков, а также двое военнослужащих и двое гражданских лиц, которые погибли в 1942-45 годах при перегоне в Советский Союз самолётов из США в рамках ленд-лиза.
Так что встреча пройдёт рядом с таким исторически важным местом, напоминающим о боевом братстве народов наших стран. И это особенно символично в год 80-летия Победы над нацистской Германией и милитаристской Японией.

💬 Preparations for the meeting between the Presidents of Russia and the United States have entered their final stage. Given that the meeting was announced just five days ago, all arrangements are being made under intense pressure. Numerous technical matters, including visa issues, are being resolved. Naturally, the primary focus remains the active development of the political components of the Summit.
I can confirm that the Programme for the Leaders’ meeting has been agreed upon. As you are all well aware, this meeting will take place in Alaska, specifically in Anchorage, with one of the facilities at the Elmendorf-Richardson Joint Military Base serving as the venue.
The proceedings are scheduled to begin tomorrow, August 15, at approximately 11:30 local time with a conversation between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump. This discussion will be held in a tête-à-tête format, with interpreters involved. Following this, the negotiations will continue in a delegation format, followed by a working breakfast.
🇷🇺 The list of participants has already been finalised. Given that highly sensitive and critical topics will be discussed, the negotiating Parties have been limited to a select group. On the Russian Side, the delegation will include: Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Aide to the President for Foreign Policy Yury Ushakov, Defence Minister Andrei Belousov, Finance Minister Anton Siluanov, and Special Presidential Representative for Investment and Economic Cooperation with Foreign Countries Kirill Dmitriev. <...>
Upon concluding the negotiations, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump will hold a joint news conference to summarise the outcomes of the discussions. Regarding the Summit’s agenda, it is evident to all that the central topic will be the settlement of the Ukrainian crisis, including considerations from the discussions held in the Kremlin on August 6 — as you may recall — with the participation of the US President’s Special Envoy Steve Witkoff.
However, broader issues related to ensuring peace and security, as well as pressing international and regional matters, will also be addressed. An exchange of views on the further development of bilateral cooperation — particularly in the trade and economic spheres — is also expected. It is worth noting that this cooperation holds immense, yet regrettably underutilised, potential.
One additional point of significance: near the military base where negotiations will take place, a memorial cemetery holds the remains of nine Soviet pilots, two military personnel, and two civilians who perished between 1942 and 1945 while ferrying aircraft from the United States to the Soviet Union under the Lend-Lease programme. Thus, the meeting will unfold near a site of profound historical importance — one that underscores the wartime brotherhood-in-arms between our nations. This symbolism is particularly resonant in this year, the year of the 80th Anniversary of Victory over Nazi Germany and Militarist Japan.
Colleagues, that is, broadly speaking, what I wished to convey regarding the visit, which — as I mentioned — will commence tomorrow morning local time.

Чемпионат — международное соревновательно-образовательное мероприятие, в рамках которого участникам предстоит показать свои знания не только в области русского языка, но и в умении аргументировать свою точку зрения, вести дискуссии, решать логические задачи, работать в команде и проявлять креативность.
ℹ️ Для участия необходимо сформировать команду из пяти человек в возрасте от 16 до 22 лет, а также назначить тренера (в возрасте от 21 года), который будет сопровождать и поддерживать команду на всех этапах.
В 2024 году Чемпионат собрал более 2 тысяч участников со всех уголков мира, в том числе из Индии, Китая, Греции, Вьетнама, стран Латинской Америки. Финал соревнований прошёл в «Царском селе», а победителем стала команда из Казахстана.

The registration for the Russian Language World Championship for Foreigners-2025 is now open.
The Championship is an international contest and educational event that brings together teams from around the world to showcase their Russian language skills, ability to defend their point of view, engage in discussions, solve logical problems, work as a team, and demonstrate creativity.
ℹ️ In order to participate, you must form a team of 5 people of 16–22 years of age, with each member having at least an A2 level of Russian language proficiency. The team must also have a coach (aged 21 or older) who will guide and support the team throughout all stages of the competition.
Last year, the Russian Language World Championship for Foreigners brought together over 2’000 participants from all over the world, including countries like India, China, Greece, Vietnam and various Latin American nations. The final was held in "Tsarskoye Selo", with the team from Kazakhstan taking first place.
🌐 In 2025, teams will be grouped by geographic region: former Soviet countries, Africa, Asia, America, and Europe. The top ten teams that successfully complete the online stage will be invited to the final round in Moscow, Russia, to be held in December 2025. All the travel expenses will be covered by the organizers.
Registration is open until September 15, 2025. Participation is free of charge.

The registration for the Russian Language World Championship for Foreigners-2025 is now open.
The Championship is an international contest and educational event that brings together teams from around the world to showcase their Russian language skills, ability to defend their point of view, engage in discussions, solve logical problems, work as a team, and demonstrate creativity.
ℹ️ In order to participate, you must form a team of 5 people of 16–22 years of age, with each member having at least an A2 level of Russian language proficiency. The team must also have a coach (aged 21 or older) who will guide and support the team throughout all stages of the competition.

Хотел бы ещё раз поблагодарить моего американского коллегу за предложение приехать на Аляску. Вполне логично встретиться именно здесь, ведь наши страны, хоть нас разделяют океаны, на самом деле близкие соседи. <...>
Как известно, российско-американские встречи в верхах не проводились более четырёх лет. Это большой срок. Минувший период был очень непростым для двусторонних отношений, и, скажем прямо, они скатились до самой низкой точки со времён холодной войны. И это не идёт на пользу ни нашим странам, да и миру в целом.
Очевидно, что рано или поздно нужно было выправлять ситуацию, переходить от конфронтации к диалогу, и в этом плане личная встреча глав двух государств реально назрела – конечно, с условием серьёзной и кропотливой подготовки, и такая работа в целом была проделана.
У нас с Президентом Трампом установились очень хорошие прямые контакты. Мы неоднократно и откровенно разговаривали по телефону. К нам, как известно, в Россию, несколько раз приезжал спецпредставитель Президента США господин Уиткофф. Регулярно контактировали наши помощники, главы внешнеполитических ведомств.
Как вы хорошо знаете, понимаете, одним из центральных вопросов стала ситуация вокруг Украины. Мы видим стремление Администрации США и лично Президента Трампа содействовать разрешению украинского конфликта, его желание вникнуть в суть и понять его истоки.
Я не раз говорил, что для России события на Украине связаны с фундаментальными угрозами нашей национальной безопасности. Более того, мы всегда считали и считаем украинский народ, я говорил об этом неоднократно, братским, как это ни странно прозвучит в сегодняшних условиях. У нас одни корни, и всё происходящее для нас – это трагедия и тяжёлая боль. Поэтому наша страна искренне заинтересована в том, чтобы положить этому конец.
Но при этом мы убеждены, что, чтобы украинское урегулирование носило устойчивый и долгосрочный характер, должны быть устранены все первопричины кризиса, о которых говорили неоднократно, обеспечен учёт всех законных озабоченностей России, восстановлен справедливый баланс в сфере безопасности в Европе и в мире в целом.
Хочется надеяться, что достигнутое нами понимание позволит приблизиться к той цели и откроет дорогу к миру на Украине. <...>
Сегодня мы слышим, что Президент Трамп говорит: «Если бы я был Президентом, то войны бы не было». Я думаю, что так бы на самом деле и случилось. Я подтверждаю это, потому что в целом у нас с Президентом Трампом наладился очень хороший, деловой и доверительный контакт. И у меня есть все основания полагать, что, двигаясь по этому пути, мы можем дойти – и чем быстрее, тем лучше – до завершения конфликта на Украине.

💬 President Putin: We held our talks in a constructive and mutually respectful atmosphere, and they have proved substantive and productive.
I would like to once again thank my US counterpart for the proposal to come to Alaska. It is quite logical to meet here since our countries, albeit separated by oceans, are, in fact, close neighbours. <...>
As you know, Russian-American summit talks have not been held for over four years. That is a long time. This period has proved exceptionally difficult for bilateral relations, and, let’s face it, they have deteriorated to their lowest point since the Cold War. And this does not benefit either our countries or the world in general.
Obviously, sooner or later we had to remedy the situation, to move from confrontation to dialogue, and in this regard, an in-person meeting between the two heads of state was really overdue – of course, with serious and thorough preparations, and this work has been done.
President Trump and I have established very good direct contacts. We have had frank conversations on the phone multiple times. As you know, the US President’s Special Envoy, Mr Witkoff, has visited us in Russia several times. Our aides and heads of foreign ministries have maintained regular contacts.
As you are well aware, the situation around Ukraine is one of the key issues. We acknowledge the commitment of the US administration and President Trump personally to help resolve the Ukrainian conflict, and the President’s willingness to understand the root causes and its origins.
I have repeatedly said that the developments in Ukraine present fundamental threats to Russia’s national security. Moreover, we have always considered the Ukrainian people – and I have said this many times – a brotherly people, no matter how strange it may sound in today’s circumstances. We share the same roots, and the current situation is tragic and deeply painful to us. Therefore, our country is sincerely interested in ending this.
Yet, we are convinced that, for the conflict resolution in Ukraine to be long-term and lasting, all the root causes of the crisis, which have been repeatedly explained, must be eliminated; all of Russia’s legitimate concerns must be taken into account, and a fair security balance must be restored in Europe and the rest of the world. <...>
Hopefully, the understanding we have reached will bring us closer to this goal and open up the road to peace in Ukraine. <...>
Today, we hear President Trump saying: “If I had been president, there would have been no war.” I believe it would have been so. I confirm this because President Trump and I have established a generally very good, businesslike and trustworthy contact. And I have every reason to believe that, as we move along this path, we can reach – and the sooner the better – the end of the conflict in Ukraine.
