• The 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War is the pinnacle event of the year. The Foreign Ministry, as well as other government agencies, is preparing to celebrate it in the most fitting manner, paying tribute to the memory of the heroic deeds of our predecessors. The Victory Organising Committee, established to prepare and hold festive events and headed by President of Russia Vladimir Putin, is planning the main ones together with all the 89 regions. <...>

▪️Посольство с первых минут отслеживает ситуацию вокруг столкновения двух судов в Северном море 10 марта.

▪️По состоянию на 14 марта появились дополнительные сведения, касающиеся российских граждан из состава экипажа судна «Solong» под флагом Португалии, которое 10 марта столкнулось в Северном море с танкером «Stena Immaculate» под флагом США.

▪️По информации судовладельца, в состав команды «Solong» входят пять граждан Российской Федерации. Среди них - капитан судна, который был задержан компетентными органами Великобритании и в настоящее время находится под следствием. Все члены экипажа из числа российских граждан живы, травмы вследствие инцидента ими не получены, состояние моряков не вызывает беспокойства.

🇷🇺 1️⃣1️⃣ years ago, on March 16, 2014, the historic referendum was held in Crimea – residents of the peninsula unequivocally voted FOR reuniting with their historical homeland, Russia.

🗳 Participation in the referendum was both voluntary and free. An impressive 96.77 percent of the Crimean population voted in favour of becoming part of Russia, with a blasting turnout of 83.1 percent. In Sevastopol, 95.6 percent supported the move, with a turnout of 89.5 percent.

The Crimean referendum was monitored by 135 international observers from 23 countries, alongside 1,240 observers from Crimean organisations, and was reported on by 623 journalists representing 169 media outlets.

On that day, Crimean citizens made a free, conscious and independent choice regarding their own and their children’s future. This was a fair and long-awaited decision for Crimeans as well as for all citizens of our country.

✍️ Following the free expression of will by the Crimean people, the Republic of Crimea signed an international treaty with Russia on March 18, 2014, formalising its accession.

Over the past 11 years, the Republic of Crimea and the federal city of Sevastopol have become fully integrated into the political, legal and economic framework of Russia. Significant infrastructure projects have been undertaken, including the construction of a bridge across the Kerch Strait, the Crimea-Kuban gas pipeline, the Tavrida federal motorway, Simferopol airport, and hundreds of other healthcare, educational, social and engineering facilities.

☝️ Interfaith accord and harmony are preserved in the peninsula, interests of all ethnic groups are taken into account. A complete national and cultural autonomy for the Crimean Tatars has been established, with their representatives participating in local government. The Crimean Tatar language has been recognised as a state language alongside Russian and Ukrainian.

Economic breakthrough and overall advancements achieved over these years, coupled with an unprecedented rise in living standards, the development of infrastructure, and the established interfaith peace in the peninsula, all reaffirm that the choice made by the Crimeans 11 years ago was the only correct one.

▫️Во время сессии порядка ста соотечественников получили возможность воспользоваться широким спектром консульских услуг - оформить паспорта, гражданство несовершеннолетним детям, доверенности и другие нотариально удостоверенные документы, заявления на визы для родственников-иностранцев, а также акты о личной явке. Сотрудники подробно консультировали российских граждан по различным аспектам их пребывания в Великобритании.

▫️Особое внимание было уделено инвалидам, пенсионерам и многодетным семьям.

Лидеры продолжили подробный и откровенный обмен мнениями по ситуации вокруг Украины. Владимир Путин выразил признательность Дональду Трампу за стремление способствовать достижению благородной цели прекращения боевых действий и человеческих потерь.

Подтвердив принципиальную приверженность мирному разрешению конфликта, Президент России заявил о готовности к совместной с американскими партнёрами тщательной проработке возможных путей урегулирования, которое должно носить комплексный, устойчивый и долгосрочный характер. И, конечно, учитывать безусловную необходимость устранения первопричин кризиса, законные интересы России в области безопасности.

В контексте инициативы Президента США о введении 30-дневного перемирия — с российской стороны обозначен ряд существенных моментов, касающихся обеспечения действенного контроля за возможным прекращением огня по всей линии боевого соприкосновения, необходимости остановки принудительной мобилизации на Украине и перевооружения ВСУ.

Отмечены также серьёзные риски, связанные с недоговороспособностью киевского режима, который уже неоднократно саботировал и нарушал достигнутые договорённости. Обращено внимание на варварские преступления террористического характера, совершённые украинскими боевиками против гражданского населения Курской области.

Подчёркнуто, что ключевым условием для недопущения эскалации конфликта и работы в направлении его разрешения политико-дипломатическим путём — должны стать полное прекращение иностранной военной помощи и предоставления разведывательной информации Киеву.

В связи с недавним обращением Дональда Трампа сохранить жизни окружённым в Курской области украинским военнослужащим Владимир Путин подтвердил, что российская сторона готова руководствоваться соображениями гуманитарного характера и в случае сдачи в плен гарантирует солдатам ВСУ жизнь и достойное обращение согласно российским законам и нормам международного права.

В ходе беседы Дональд Трамп выдвинул предложение о взаимном отказе сторон конфликта от ударов на 30 дней по объектам энергетической инфраструктуры. Владимир Путин положительно откликнулся на эту инициативу и сразу дал российским военным соответствующую команду.

Также конструктивно Президент России отреагировал на высказанную Дональдом Трампом идею реализации известной инициативы, касающейся безопасности судоходства в акватории Чёрного моря. Условлено начать переговоры для дополнительной проработки конкретных деталей такой договорённости.

Владимир Путин проинформировал, что 19 марта между российской и украинской сторонами будет осуществлён обмен пленными — 175 на 175 человек. Кроме того, в качестве жеста доброй воли будут переданы 23 тяжело раненых украинских военнослужащих, находящихся на излечении в российских медицинских учреждениях.

Лидеры подтвердили намерение продолжить усилия по достижению украинского урегулирования в двустороннем режиме, в том числе с учётом вышеупомянутых предложений Президента США. С этой целью создаются российская и американская экспертные группы.

Владимир Путин и Дональд Трамп затронули и другие вопросы международной повестки, включая ситуацию на Ближнем Востоке и в регионе Красного моря. Будут предприняты совместные усилия в целях стабилизации обстановки в кризисных точках, налаживания взаимодействия в вопросах ядерного нераспространения и глобальной безопасности. Это, в свою очередь, будет способствовать оздоровлению общей атмосферы российско-американских отношений. Один из позитивных примеров — солидарное голосование в ООН по резолюции в отношении украинского конфликта.

Выражена обоюдная заинтересованность в нормализации двусторонних отношений в свете особой ответственности России и США за обеспечение безопасности и стабильности в мире. <...>

• For us, the most important is the elimination of grand reasons <...> of the [Ukraine] conflict. And there are at least two of them. One is that Ukraine should be neutral, a non-nuclear state, as it is stated in the initial version of its Constitution and the Declaration of Independence of 1991. And second, the rights of minorities in Ukraine should be fully re-established <...>.

• Every ceasefire <...> should be well-prepared, otherwise it will be pretty soon derailed <...>. What we need, in fact, is a very serious, overall agreement with security guarantees <...> not only for Ukraine, but also for Russia. It should be [about] fundamental guarantees, which will prevent any possibility of resuming hostilities <...> and it should establish in Europe a regional security system.

• For us it is unacceptable that NATO troops will be stationed in Ukraine. It's a matter of principle. <...> It doesn't matter what kind of label will be on these troops. It will still be NATO troops <...>. In a peace scenario, it should be a consent of two sides of the conflict [to deploy a peacekeeping operation] <...>. The drafts that we negotiated with Ukraine in 2022 did not contain any mentioning of boots on the ground <...>. It is sufficient that it will be a treaty.

• The policy of the United Kingdom towards Russia is hostile at the moment <...> because they are saying that they need to continue sanctioning Russia, to reinforce Ukraine in order to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia.

💬 Russian MFA Spox Maria Zakharova: Not only has the Kiev regime not ceased its efforts to terrorise Russian civilians and energy facilities, as the Foreign Ministry has repeatedly pointed out, but it has once again targeted people working for Russian media. Unarmed, they have a professional duty to report on the developments on the ground.

On 24 March alone, three people who worked for Russian media outlets were killed in the Lugansk People's Republic following a targeted artillery attack carried out by the Kiev regime militants. They were Izvestiya frontline correspondent Alexander Fedorchak, Zvezda TV cameraman Andrey Panov and Alexander Sirkeli, the crew's driver. In addition, Zvezda correspondent Nikita Goldin was seriously wounded. <...> The Kiev regime used high-precision MLRS munitions to carry out the strike, and it knew in advance that it was targeting a civilian vehicle with media members in it.

At about the same time, TASS correspondent Mikhail Skuratov was on an editorial assignment in the Kursk Region's Sudzha District where he suffered fragment wounds in a targeted attack by the Ukrainian troops.

❗️ These cruel reprisals and assassinations of Russian journalists by the Ukrainian neo-Nazis are yet another powerful piece of evidence proving that they are ready to commit any crimes against civilians without any qualms or hesitation, considering that media representatives are viewed as civilians as per the 1949 Geneva Conventions and their Additional Protocol I.

It also proves that the Zelensky regime is impossible to reach an agreement with and incapable of keeping its word.

Specialised international bodies must respond to the continuing efforts to kill Russian media staff in cold blood. The fact that these institutions have consistently failed to act, as well as their deliberate refusal to speak up and make their voices heard, or their meaningless empty talk.

Russian Defence Ministry:

⚡️ Despite Zelensky's public statement about the Russian-U.S. agreements reached in Riyadh on 24 March to stop attacks against civilian energy facilities, the Kiev regime has continued its strikes on Russia's energy infrastructure.

On the night of 26 March 2025, near the Tarkhankut Peninsula, two Ukrainian strike UAVs were shot down by on-duty air defence systems. The drones were targeting the ground-based equipment of the Glebovskoye underground gas storage facility.

Moreover, on 26 March at around 4:45 in the morning, in Bryansk region, the hostile UAVs attacked an object of the Bryanskenergo (Rosseti Centre). As a result of the attack, a 10kV high-voltage electric power transmission stopped working and consumers in Komarichsky District were left without electricity.

Moreover, on the afternoon of 25 March, the Ukrainian strike drones attacked an energy facility of the Kurskenergo (Rosseti Centre). Thus, a number of substation shut down, and over 4,000 consumers in Khomutovsky District were cut off power supply.

❗️Thus, the Kiev regime, while continuing to damage the Russian civilian energy infrastructure, is actually doing everything it can to thwart the agreements reached by Russia and the United States on step-by-step measures to resolve the Ukrainian conflict.

💬 As in the times of Napoleon and Hitler, in the times of the Crimean War, Europe is eager to inflict a "strategic defeat" on our country.

As in those years, almost all European countries with a few exceptions are involved in the war effort. They are not yet physically fighting against us in Ukraine, but, without them Ukraine would have been defeated.

While they continue to flood Kiev with weapons, London and Paris – especially their two leaders, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron – backed up by a not too strong coalition of the Baltic states and a number of other countries, keep talking about sending weapons to Ukraine as they did before.

They even talk about forming a "coalition of the willing" and deploying a "peacekeeping mission" or a "mission to ensure Ukraine's security" after the war is over. Or, even two missions where one would be put on the border with the EU and NATO, and the other one would be made up of countries of the Global South, such as India, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, and even China.

However, these "dreamers" make their abysmal political failure clear with every passing day. They are willing to not just "contain" Russia, but to "inflict a defeat" on it.

Europe is beginning to think seriously about a remilitarisation that will cost it hundreds of billions of euros, at a time when its economy and social sphere are going down the drain, after the Biden administration let them off the leash and sent them to wage war against the Russian Federation.

☝️ This partly explains why they are so adamant about not "surrendering" Ukraine, continuing to arm it, and are demanding that rhetoric about Ukraine never joining NATO or the EU be banned.

Russian Foreign Ministry:

💬 In view of media speculations about the possible transfer of the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) to Ukraine or the establishment of some kind of joint control over the plant with Ukraine, the United States or representatives of international organisations, we would like to make the following clarifications.

The ZNPP is a Russian nuclear facility.

The return of the plant to the Russian nuclear industry is a long-established fact that the international community only needs to recognise. The transfer of the ZNPP itself or control over it to Ukraine or any other country is impossible.

Joint operation of the ZNPP with any state is also unacceptable. There are no such precedents in the world practice.

The idea of any international organisation participating in the operation of the plant also seems absurd, since neither the mandate nor the competence of any of them allows them to get involved in the operation of nuclear facilities.

☝️ According to international law, the primary responsibility for ensuring nuclear safety and security on their territory rests with the states themselves. In the case of the ZNPP, it is the Russian Federation with no other option.

❌ Очередная порция антироссийских выпадов Кира Стармера в Париже весьма чётко продемонстрировала истинные цели Лондона на украинском треке.

Стремление англичан прикрыться «тогой миротворца» напоминают попытки волка вырядиться в овечью шкуру. Британия была одним из архитекторов украинского кризиса. Её премьер-министр фактически торпедировал стамбульские договорённости 2022 года. Лондон и теперь не изменяет себе.

Заявление К.Стармера о необходимости «удержать украинцев в бою», накачивая их вооружениями, говорит само за себя. Подтверждает желание всеми силами продолжить боевые действия, а не помочь урегулированию, какими бы словесными конструкциями это ни обставляли. Британский истеблишмент нисколько не волнует, что это будет щедро оплачено жизнями украинцев, насильно мобилизуемых в ряды киевской военщины, а также невинными жертвами среди гражданского населения.

Вместо выдвижения надуманных претензий к России Лондону следовало бы прекратить покрывать киевских протеже. Обратить, наконец, внимание на непрекращающиеся нападения ВСУ на российскую энергетическую инфраструктуру (1, 2, 3), не говоря уже об организованной украинскими террористами «охоте» на отечественных журналистов.

Откровенной попыткой сорвать урегулирование считаем и продолжение затеянной Лондоном и Парижем суеты со сколачиванием непонятной «коалиции желающих». Сколько военно-штабных планировочных мероприятий ни проводили бы заигравшиеся в «войнушку» европейские элиты, их результат будет нулевым.

❗️ Сценарий с размещением на Украине контингентов западных стран для нас категорически неприемлем, поскольку чреват прямым столкновением России и НАТО. Столь же абсурдны изобретённые на ходу К.Стармером в общении с журналистами некие искусственные «дедлайны» в отношении сроков выхода на мирные решения, особенно с учётом явной нацеленности Лондона на их срыв.

Не удивляет брошенный К.Стармером очередной санкционный «клич». Он отнюдь не сочетается с декларируемым курсом британского руководства на выправление тяжело больной экономики Британии. Но практика показывает, что попытки отвлечь внимание от усугубляющихся социально-экономических проблем за счёт никому не нужных геополитических авантюр не доводят до добра. Об этом следовало бы также задуматься на Даунинг-стрит.

🎙 Yegor Yakovlev, a prominent Russian historian and creator of Russia’s largest scientific and educational historical project, "Digital History," explains in his lecture how history is often being manipulated becoming a powerful tool that serves one's political agenda and goals. This is particularly evident in the West, with certain academicians and media pushing and shaping anti-historical and anti-factual narratives that serve the Western neoliberal elites' agenda.

Yakovlev highlights several common techniques of historical falsification:

🔻 Distorting facts to fit a particular narrative;
🔻 Selective omission of inconvenient events;
🔻 Unjustly equating historical events;
🔻 Manipulating timelines to downplay certain events.

Through concrete examples Yegor Yakovlev challenges widespread fakes about Russia’s and Soviet Union’s history, including:

• The Kiev regime and Western ridiculous ahistorical attempts to label the 1932-1933 famine in the USSR as a genocide against the Ukrainian people by Soviet leadership;

• The selective focus on the Non-Aggression Treaty between the Soviet Union and Germany while ignoring the Munich Betrayal, which in fact boosted Nazi Germany's expansionist policies, as well as constant Soviet attempts at creating an anti-Hitlerite coalition throughout the 1930s;

• The heinous false narrative that equates the Soviet Union and Nazi Germany as equal aggressors in the outbreak of WWII, which distorts historical reality;

• Attempts to deny the Siege of Leningrad being a genocide, manipulating the timeline, facts & context of the events.

❌ The latest round of verbal attacks by Keir Starmer in Paris against Russia is indicative of London's true intentions regarding Ukraine.

UK officials' attempts to come across as peacekeepers resemble a wolf trying to disguise itself in sheep's clothing. Britain has been one of the chief architects of the Ukraine crisis. Its former Prime Minister effectively sabotaged the Istanbul agreements in 2022. Today London is firmly committed to sustaining the conflict.

Keir Starmer's stated intent to "keep Ukrainians in the fight" by supplying more weapons speaks volumes. Regardless of deceptive verbal constructs, this reaffirms London's aim of seeking further hostilities, not peace. The UK political establishment is completely indifferent that this will come at the heavy cost of lives among Ukrainians, forcibly connoscripted into the ranks of the Kiev military machine, and will lead to innocent civilian casualties.

Instead of promoting unfounded accusations against Russia, London should rather cease covering up for its Kiev clientele. Isn't it time to finally take note of ongoing attacks by Ukrainian armed forces against Russian energy infrastructure (1, 2, 3), not to mention Kiev’s terrorist manhunt against Russian journalists?

The continued hustle by London and Paris around the vague idea of a "coalition of the willing" is a clear-cut attempt to derail the settlement process. Regardless of the number of military-planning exercises belligerent European leaders may want to carry out, they will have zero results.

❗️ Any potential deployment of Western contingents to Ukraine is categorically unacceptable to us, as this would lead to a direct confrontation between Russia and NATO. Likewise, the artificial "deadlines" that Keir Starmer seems to have invented in his media comments regarding peaceful outcomes of the conflict are equally absurd, especially given London's clear intention to obstruct such outcomes.

It is no surprise that Keir Starmer has called again for more sanctions against Russia. This, however, would seem to contradict current UK policy of trying to repair the profoundly undermined British economy. Experience shows that attempts to divert attention from worsening socio-economic problems via unwarranted geopolitical adventures never end well. This is something that should be taken into consideration in Downing Street.
