🎙 Maria Zakharova's exclusive interview with RT on the sidelines of World Youth Festival in Sochi.

Key talking points:

• The leaked audio recording of the Bundeswehr officers discussing nefarious plans and terrorist attacks against Russia and its civilian infrastructure.
• NATO's aggression and its main task being confrontation with Russia (as written down in its doctrinal documents)
• Anti-Russian sanctions backfiring on the West
• People in the Western countries live in an information vacuum, they are drip fed only what is allowed by censorship.

🎙 Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova’s comment on the report by the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights “Ten Years of Occupation by the Russian Federation: Human Rights in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the City of Sevastopol, Ukraine”

💬 We were perplexed by the report published recently by the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) under the noscript “Ten Years of Occupation by the Russian Federation: Human Rights in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the City of Sevastopol, Ukraine.”

The drafting of this most recent anti-Russia “product” was not sanctioned by resolutions of the UN General Assembly or UN Human Rights Council, and is the sole doing of the OHCHR.

Continuing its Russophobic policy, the OHCHR has simply repackaged similar unfounded accusations against Russia from the so-called occupation of Crimea and the human rights violations that allegedly ensued.

It should be noted that the OHCHR published this latest collection of anti-Russia clichés without even acknowledging the final ruling made by the UN International Court of Justice on January 31 on Ukraine’s lawsuit against Russia based on the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination. The court dismissed as meritless Kiev’s insinuations about the alleged discrimination of Ukrainians and Crimean Tatars in Crimea.

❗️ We consider this report further evidence that the OHCHR has become nothing but a mouthpiece for Ukrainian propaganda that carries out political assignments set by the Kiev regime and its patrons. As such, international law has ceased to be the foundation of the OHCHR’s work.

🧑‍🚀 On March 6, 1937, world’s first female cosmonaut Valentina Tereshkova was born. To this day, she remains the only woman who flew to the Earth’s orbit alone, as well as the youngest woman to travel into space. She was only 26 years old back at the time of that historic event.

Valentina joined the cosmonaut corps in 1962. She was selected from 800 young women who excelled in parachuting. At that time, Tereshkova had 163 parachute jumps under her belt.

In June 1963, she informed her family that she was leaving for a parachute competition. Only from the news did they learn that their Valya actually spent almost three days aboard the Vostok-6 spacecraft, orbiting the Earth 48 times.

💬 “Every 90 minutes I saw the dawn, the sun rising in a unique array of colours,” Tereshkova said of her impressions on board.

Vostok-5 piloted by cosmonaut Valery Bykovsky, with whom Tereshkova maintained radio contact, was also in orbit at the same time. Despite fatigue and waning health, Valentina completed her mission successfully.

❗️Tereshkova’s space flight was a global sensation. For the United States, the USSR’s main rival in the space race, it was inconceivable. The American space agency did not take the idea of a woman flying into space seriously at the time.

Valentina boarded the spaceship as a lieutenant, and returned to Earth with the rank of captain. Three days after the landing, she was also awarded the noscript of Hero of the Soviet Union. Later she was awarded the noscript of Hero of Socialist Labor of Czechoslovakia, Bulgaria, Vietnam, and Mongolia, and became an honorary citizen of 18 Russian and foreign cities.

A Soviet woman’s flight to the orbit enriched scientific knowledge about the impact of space conditions on the human body and reaffirmed the leadership of the USSR in space exploration.

🎊 Today Valentina Tereshkova turns 87 years old. Happy birthday to our iconic cosmonaut! Many happy returns!

🎙 FM Sergey Lavrov’s remarks and answers to media questions following the Antalya Diplomacy Forum (March 2, 2024)

Key talking points:

🔸 The UN is not a "bad organisation" per se and by itself. Let me stress once again that its Charter contains all the principles necessary to ensure fairness in international relations. Those who had decisive weight in the world economy and in technological development until recently, decided that they needed to manipulate international law in order to maintain their dwindling dominance. I think this is the main problem today.

🔸 We have no shortage of goodwill [for negotiations with Ukraine]. But we see a lack of it on the other side. And it is not so much goodwill that is in short supply as an understanding of what is happening.

🔸 The war camp in Europe remains strong. The most recent statements by French President Macron, Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin, and the dialogue of German generals go to show that the war party is insisting on its policy of inflicting a strategic defeat on Russia on the battlefield.

🔸 We can withhold the funds that the Western countries hold in Russia and which were frozen in response to the seizing of Russia’s national reserves. There can be no doubt that we will respond appropriately.

🔸 The West must understand that they made a mistake in Ukraine and should right that wrong. We will not stop them from doing so in a way that will make them think they have saved face.

🔸 We are convinced that a Palestinian state is not a whim, nor just a resolution the UN approved in the remote past. It is impossible to stop violence in the Middle East unless it is implemented. The Arab street won’t calm down, when it sees injustice and how attempts are being made to perpetuate this injustice.

🔸 We are sorry that the Armenian leadership has apparently made a conscious decision to pursue a policy of undermining relations with Russia and blaming Russia for everything that happened to Nagorno-Karabakh. This is not in the nature of allied relations

#CrimeanBridge

What is interesting are the words said by Western figures, including the response of German politicians when the truth about the recording of conversations between German generals was revealed. Some of them are concerned there was a leak from a secure line. The fact that German weapons and the personnel servicing them are going to be used to attack the Russian Federation, including the Crimean Bridge and ammo depots, is not surprising. They wonder why the secure line turned out to be not so secure. This says a lot.

#Election2024

We have accumulated a lot of evidence on how the EU embassies in Moscow are preparing for our presidential elections. I am referring to interference mechanisms, certain “supporting projects” for the non-systemic opposition – in short, things that embassies have no right to address.

#RussiaUS

The Americans approach us every now and then. They have asked us not to deploy weapons in space. They have asked for a meeting. As if nothing happened. They say they must defeat us on the battlefield in Ukraine but other than that, let’s discuss strategic issues. President Vladimir Putin said that they are not serious and it goes against the natural course of things.

🗓 On 6 March 1913, legendary Soviet ace pilot Alexander Pokryshkin was born. An accomplished master of air combat, Pokryshkin made a significant contribution to the Victory over Nazism in the Great Patriotic War.

🛩 Pokryshkin chased the dream of becoming a pilot since childhood. By the age of 19 he enrolled in a military school of aircraft technicians. In 1938 he went to the Kachin aviation school of pilots and graduated merely a year later.

By the time the Great Patriotic War broke out, Pokryshkin was an experienced pilot and served in the 55th air regiment stationed on the Soviet-Romanian border. Alexander bravely engaged the enemy from the first days of war. By the end of April, 1945, he performed more than 600 combat sorties, conducted 156 air battles and shot down 59 German planes, becoming the second leading flying ace in the Allied forces during World War II.

The Soviet pilot distinguished himself in combat, flying American aircraft model P-39 Aerocobra, which the Soviet Union received in the spring of 1943 under the lend-lease programme.

Pokryshkin was not only a fearless pilot but also managed to develop groundbreaking and, most importantly, effective air combat tactics which were adopted by other Soviet pilots.

🎖 Pokryshkin's outstanding abilities as a fighter pilot, his courage and military ingenuity earned him the noscript of Hero of the Soviet Union three times — more than anybody during the Great Patriotic War.

After the war, he went on to master jet fighters. He was one of the first pilots to fly a MiG-9 and was promoted to the rank of Air Force Marshal in 1972.

🕯 The legendary pilot passed away in 1985 at the age of 72. He is buried in Moscow at the Novodevichy Cemetery.

⚛️ On March 6, 2024, President of Russia Vladimir Putin met with Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (#IAEA) Rafael Grossi.

💬 President Putin: Russia continues to cooperate with the IAEA in a lot of very important areas and remains an undisputed world leader in this area. We not only use but actively promote nuclear energy and consider it an environmentally friendly form of energy; we do everything to improve the safety of nuclear facilities.

• We are building new power plants according to today’s principles: the Kursk-2 NPP uses fast neutrons. We are making small stations and developing a nuclear fleet. A small floating nuclear power plant was installed in the north.

• All this is in great demand not only in Russia, but also in the economies and energy sectors of the whole world. And we are ready to share what we have developed with all our interested partners.

• We are implementing numerous projects in many countries with your assistance and support.

• I know that you have particularly sensitive and important issues on the agenda of our meeting today, and we, of course, are ready to discuss them and do everything to ensure security in any place where we are in one way or another involved in nuclear energy.

🎙 President Vladimir Putin took part in the closing ceremony of the World Youth Festival (March 6, 2024)

💬 Vladimir Putin: When we were inviting you to come to Russia, we set ourselves the fairly simple tasks of creating conditions of freedom, creativity and friendship for you to interact with each other and meet new friends and possibly partners in your future projects. I hope that we succeeded.

• You are all so different. <...> How did you manage to crate this city of world youth when you are so diverse? There must be something you all have in common. Today, in Russia we describe it as our traditional values. They form the foundation of our life, our existence. This means that there is something that unites us.

👉 All of us are human beings. And we are all equal.

• If we are all equal, there is no place for anyone’s exclusivity in the world. There is no place for arrogance, segregation.

• We are all born equal but the question is, do we grow and develop under equal conditions? The answer is, unfortunately, not. This is the greatest injustice in today’s world order.

• If you ask me what can be done for everybody to live and to grow under equal conditions, unlocking their talents for the benefit of their loved ones, their family, their country and perhaps humanity as a whole, I do not know. But what I do know for certain is that we all must strive for it.

• Only by striving for it will we make the world more transparent, just, democratic, sustainable, balanced and safe.

🇷🇺🤝 I want all of you to know that the entire Russia is now your friend. Our doors are always open for you and your noble intentions.

💬 President of France Emmanuel Macron: A French defence mission will open in Moldova’s capital Chisinau within a few months.

Maria Zakharova: They have just closed one in Mali and are set to open a new one in Chisinau.

Any idea why France no longer “defends” the Malians? Because it can’t, as it turns out. The French could not meet any of the targets set in eight years, so they took off.

They left not only Mali but also other African countries where they had to do real work and actually fight terrorism, not just “defend Moldova.”

It was global disgrace: positions abandoned, commitments neglected.

But along came Armenia and Moldova, where the French can flex their muscles in the gym at least and do some reconnaissance along Russian borders, respectively.

Unless they are hit by a French missile from Ukraine. That would be quite a laugh.

🎙 President Vladimir Putin extended greetings to Russian women on International Women’s Day.

💬 From the bottom of my heart, I wish you all the best on International Women’s Day.

<...>

You certainly have the power to improve this world with your beauty, wisdom and generosity, but above all, thanks to the greatest gift that nature has endowed you with – the bearing of children. Motherhood is a glorious mission for women.

<...>

This year is dedicated to the family in Russia. The meaning, the essence of the family is primarily about the continuation of life, the continuation of the lineage, of the story of each family and our entire country. The family is the bond that has ensured continuity from generation to generation, and consideration and respect for women and motherhood are an integral part of our traditions.

<...>

👉 I would like to specifically address the women who are serving in the special military operation now, carrying out combat missions, as well as to others who are now separated from their family members, waiting for our heroes to come home, inspiring them with their love, cheer and support, worrying about every soldier, helping them on the front line, in hospitals, and in numerous volunteer organisations. Again and again, you prove that a woman’s heart is truly an irresistible force, providing an example of perseverance and confidence that good and truth are on our side.

You take on extremely difficult challenges, achieving success and impressive results in a variety of fields. We, men, often feel amazed at your ability to get things done quickly and efficiently, yet thoroughly, seeing to every detail. You handle an endless succession of problems and burdens without losing your charm and allure. It is impossible not to admire you.

I would like to wish you genuine mutual understanding with those you hold dear, as many truly happy moments in your lives as possible, and success in everything that is important to you.

💐 All the best to you. Happy International Women’s Day!

#Gagarin90

🗓 Today, legendary Soviet cosmonaut, First Man in Space Yuri Gagarin would have turned 9️⃣0️⃣!

Gagarin was born in the village of Klushino, Gzhatsk District, Smolensk Region. It was here, in 1941, during the Great Patriotic War, that he saw Soviet aircraft flying in the air to defend the Motherland, which sparked his dream of flying.

In 1954, while studying at an industrial college, Gagarin joined the Saratov aviation club, where he made the decision to dedicate his life to being a pilot. After completing the training course, he enrolled in a military aviation school in 1955 and went on to become a pilot in the Northern Fleet Air Force in 1957.

🚀 In 1959, upon learning about the recruitment of volunteers for an upcoming space flight, Gagarin submitted a request to join the cosmonaut group. Out of nearly 3,500 jet pilots, only 20 volunteers were selected. After completing a series of rigorous trainings, tests and exams, Yuri Gagarin was chosen to become Cosmonaut № 1.

The historic space flight took place on April 12, 1961. The news instantly spread around the globe. In Moscow, thousands of people welcomed Gagarin with flowers and banners.

🌐 After the historic event, Yuri Gagarin went on a two year-long Peace Mission, visiting over 30 countries. Despite the sudden fame, Gagarin never abandoned his passion for aviation and space exploration.

🕯 The life of the first cosmonaut tragically ended on March 27, 1968. He died during a training flight while piloting a MiG-15UTI jet. Gagarin’s death shocked the world. His ashes were placed in the Kremlin Wall in Moscow next to the ashes of the Chief Soviet spacecraft designer Sergey Korolev.

The memory of Yuri Gagarin, Hero of the Soviet Union, as well as his legacy is immortalised with places named after him in Russia and abroad. The busts in honour of the space pioneer are still being installed around the world.

Russian MFA Spox Maria Zakharova:

The latest from the loonie multiverse / alternate reality: the US Embassy in Russia dug up a State Department video from two years ago, presenting it as new while most likely writing off budget funds for it.

In this video, Julie (Julianne) Smith, the US Ambassador to NATO, recounts “why NATO & Russia relations have soured.” From the creators of "NATO wanted to be friends" 🤦‍♀️

Facts are as follows 👇

The Ambassador started with trump cards: “After the Berlin Wall fell, NATO tried to extend a hand, and reach out and work with Russia.“

In real life, it was NATO that cynically disregarded the promises made in 1990 by West German Chancellor Genscher and US Secretary of State Baker not to expand the Alliance’s defence zone towards Russia, famously known as “not an inch eastward.” We have discussed this issue extensively.

Perhaps it was the desire to be buddies (NOT) 🤔 that drove the North Atlantic alliance to fiercely expand eastwards, increasing its presence and bringing its military infrastructure closer to our borders. Ultimately, there were five (!) waves of expansion, with the sixth unfolding before our very eyes.

The true nature of NATO was revealed in 1999. Just two weeks after the first wave of expansion, NATO launched an attack on Yugoslavia, blatantly violating fundamental principles of international law enshrined in the UN Charter. For 78 days, the USA & its allies ruthlessly bombed cities, including Belgrade, targeting civilian infrastructure and causing the deaths of women, children and the elderly. It was during this time that the West destroyed the foundation of European security. Do you not recall those events, Julie?

The accusation vs Russia for “what it did in Georgia in 2008” is the epitome of cynicism. Are they suggesting that it wasn’t the reckless actions of tie-chewing Saakashvili, goaded by Western powers, who launched a vicious attack, killing civilians and Russian peacekeepers? An independent commission helmed by Heidi Tagliavini of Switzerland reached an unequivocal conclusion — the Saakashvili regime committed an unprovoked act of aggression. Every student knows that. Oh and btw, US State Secretary Condoleezza Rice visited Tbilisi just before, in July of that year...

Also omitted: 2008 NATO summit in Bucharest, where the Alliance announced its doors open for Ukraine & Georgia.

Julie also blurted out something about “Russia’s aggression in Ukraine in 2014.” Just recently we had the 10-year anniversary of the anti-constitutional coup in Kiev. We would advise US diplomats to jog their memory: timeline (video) & synopsis of the role played by the West. They might consider consulting the departing Victoria “F*ck the EU” Nuland on the details.

The Ambassador mentioned the lack of Russia's Mission to NATO, neglecting the fact that the work of our mission was suspended in 2021 AFTER the Alliance recalled the accreditation of 8 staff members with 0 reasoning, and prohibited Russian diplomats from visiting NATO HQ, limiting any contacts. Read 👉 MFA statement.

By the way, going back to the notion of “making friends,” President Vladimir Putin said in an interview with Tucker Carlson that the issue of Russia’s accession to NATO was raised during talks with the US president. Back then we were told it was impossible at the time. Now we know why 👇

NATO leaders and member countries no longer conceal their true intentions. They openly declare that inflicting “a strategic defeat” on Russia is their primary objective. They provide the Kiev regime with intelligence & lethal weapons, effectively participating in the conflict in Ukraine that they themselves instigated.

We suggest the State Department add a laugh track voiceover to their recycled fairy tales of a video, especially in parts where NATO “extended a hand but the relationship soured.” Otherwise, too boring to watch.

On the other hand, we eagerly anticipate when C-Street produces videos about their aggression in Yugoslavia, Iraq, Libya, Syria and Afghanistan.

#Election2024

Russian overseas missions continue taking steps to strengthen security measures at polling stations. We have been receiving an ever-increasing number of calls intended to disrupt the voting procedure.

For example, the Estonian authorities have unequivocally warned [the country’s residents] about the “consequences” of participating in this election. Have you ever seen this kind of democracy?

#Ukraine

On March 4, the European Commissioner for the Internal Market, Frenchman Thierry Breton, reminded the Kiev regime that military aid is not entirely gratuitous. In other words, they are telling the Kiev regime that everything the West has provided them with must be paid for eventually.

Do you think the EU, NATO, the US or UK will rebuild housing for Ukrainian civilians? Rebuild infrastructure? Maybe open schools for free? They will charge money upfront for it, on top of the debt that Ukraine and the Ukrainian people owe them now.

#FoodSecurity

Despite the rampant sanctions harassment by the Western countries, Russia is continuing to steadily build up agricultural production.

According to preliminary data, Russian agricultural exports reached about $44 billion last year. We export food to more than 160 countries, primarily the developing and poorest countries.

💬 Russia’s MFA Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova:

The Estonian Foreign Ministry yet again "excels" (no really), blinded by their hatred of Russia.

This time they went so far as to post on X (ex-Twitter) a story regarding the what they call the 80th anniversary of the Soviet (referred to as “Russian”) air attack on the positions of the German occupying forces in Tallinn. The gist of the entire message is that the Russians were targeting residential areas and cultural sites, just as they allegedly do in Ukraine today.

It is well known and documented that the current Estonian authorities identify themselves with the German Nazis. But even Joseph Goebbels would envy their rabid Russophobia.

Taken out of context by the falsifiers, this event - the air attack on the Nazi-occupied and fortified city - was actually a part of the Soviet combat operations to liberate the Baltic region from the Nazis.

It must be understood that the Baltic region had strategic importance for Hitler as a source of food and a territorial link with Northern Europe. The Soviet air strikes primarily targeted the Gestapo and Abwehr headquarters, air defence systems, the naval arsenal, gunpowder storage depots, and signal centres. While the Kallas clan (in power in Estonia) and descendants of Estonian collaborationists may regard these Nazi locations as "sacred sites and cultural landmarks", for all the normal people they are legitimate military targets.

But there is more. They illustrated the post with a photo of the city landscape after the alleged Soviet air raids. But in fact, the photo was taken on August 28, 1941 during the Soviet Baltic Fleet’s retreat known as the Tallinn Breakthrough, while the destruction in Tallinn was caused by... the advancing Nazi forces. The operation (breakthrough) to evacuate the city involved 225 combat and auxiliary ships with 40,000 troops and civilians on board. The convoy came under relentless artillery fire and was attacked by German and Finnish torpedo boats and aircraft. The Nazis sank 62 ships carrying over 4,500 civilians, while the overall number of Soviet casualties exceeded 15,000.

For some reason, the Estonian authorities chose to forget all about this. Apparently, these were the wrong city residents and sailors.

As for their false laments for the current Kiev regime, the ideological affinity between Estonia’s ruling nationalist clique and the Kiev regime is no surprise to anyone. They share the goal of glorifying Shukhevych, Bandera, and the Estonian cutthroats from the Waffen-SS as "liberator heroes".

For more information on the liberation of Tallinn from the German occupation on September 22, 1944, see here and here. These websites contain numerous archive documents that describe, among other things, how the Germans treated the local population. It is worth mentioning that the bread ration assigned by the Germans in the last months of the occupation was 800 grammes per person per week. Meanwhile, Red Army units were welcomed warmly by locals and seen as liberators, despite three years of Nazi propaganda. Local inhabitants often risked their lives to help Soviet soldiers.

It should not be forgotten that the operation to liberate Estonia involved the 8th Estonian Rifle Corps of the Red Army. These Estonians were the true patriots of their homeland, unlike Estonians of today.
