NEW: Secret is now integrated with the XP.NETWORK multi-chain NFT bridge!

This allows Secret NFTs to be bridged to many other chains, including Ethereum, Solana, Polygon, Avalanche, Binance Smart Chain, Moonbeam, Fantom, Tezos, and Algorand. It also enables NFTs from those chains to be bridged to Secret!

When bridging Secret NFTs with private metadata to other networks, the private data is preserved. On the destination chain, the bridged NFT will have a field called Private Metadata, with the text: “Bridge to Secret Network to view”.

Secret Network v1.9: IBC v4 + VRF Mainnet Upgrade is Complete! 🎉

Secret Network’s latest network upgrade has arrived, and with it comes some powerful new features that greatly improve interoperability, privacy, and security!

This upgrade brings the network to version 1.9, which we’ve simply named IBC v4 + VRF, as those are two of the major new features included. IBC v4 is an updated version of the IBC protocol, which includes its own set of new features. Secret VRF is a random number generation API that can be used by contracts on Secret and on other chains via cross-chain protocols, an example of Secret’s Privacy as a Service functionality. Additionally, the upgrade adds an IBC Emergency Button, a new contract security mechanism called Execution Finalization, and a new contract privacy enhancement called Gas Evaporation.

Binance recently communicated to their customers that some privacy-related tokens are being made unavailable to some specific European countries. One of the tokens included in this announcement was SCRT:

To clarify: SCRT is not a "privacy coin" - transactions made with the token are public, and it's used for governance, staking, and paying on-chain gas fees, similar to Ethereum's ETH. Secret Network is a powerful platform for building privacy-preserving dApps that don't leak data. It's one of the only blockchains that can support GDPR-type regulations.

We've clarified this to Binance, and their team is re-evaluating making SCRT available to EU users.

All Web3 users - and all Web2 users - have the right to use apps that don't expose their data, preserving safety and security. Secret Network is committed to building a more secure Web3.

Lisa brings a wealth of experience, including previous positions as COO of ShapeShift, Head of U.S. Digital Acquisition for Merchants at PayPal, and Software Engineering Manager at Apple. She was also featured in CoinTelegraph’s 2023 list of Top 100 Blockchain Influencers.

Lisa will be guiding the restructuring of Secret Foundation into a new NPO entity, and leading operations of this new entity as it continues to support the growth of Secret Network alongside SCRT Labs.
