Shade Protocol has officially announced the integration of MetaMask with their privacy-preserving DeFi platform!

For the first time ever, this groundbreaking development makes it possible for Ethereum users to onboard into the Secret ecosystem without having to create a new wallet! Users can bridge tokens from Ethereum to Secret and interact with Shade Protocol, all from their existing MetaMask wallet.

This release strongly aligns with the mission of Secret Ethereum, a recently announced network initiative with the goal of bridging the gap between the Secret and Ethereum ecosystems.

This upgrade greatly increases Secret's Privacy as a Service capabilities by empowering a new form of interoperability with EVM chains!

Confidential computing is coming to the Ethereum and beyond, setting the stage for the Secret Ethereum initiative, and further securing our place as the privacy hub of web3!

This upgrade also includes the contract upgradability feature, which makes it easier for developers to add new features or patch bugs in existing Secret contracts 🏗

This new section in the Secret Network developer documentation shows how to take advantage of Secret’s Privacy as a Service capabilities, by utilizing cross-chain messaging with Axelar GMP.

The primary contract for your application can live on Ethereum, while a proxy contract on Secret can be communicated with in order to store and compute over encrypted data. This opens up new use-cases for EVM dApps that would otherwise be impossible to achieve on a transparent blockchain.
