A potential ‘game-changing’ #Covid vaccine pill has received approval to launch a clinical trial on 24 unvaccinated volunteers.

The single-dose capsule version of a #vaccine could be used to dramatically increase protection in countries with low immunization rates that lack the infrastructure to roll out large-scale vaccination programs.

Manufacturer Oramed Pharmaceuticals announced in March that it they successfully tested the vaccine pill with pigs, however the company is awaiting confirmation from #Israel’s health ministry before the human trials can begin.

The Jerusalem-based manufacturer specializes in creating oral versions of drugs that are usually administered via an injection. A representative for the company also claimed the capsule could potentially be used as a booster against the more contagious #Deltavariant.
