ECDC (European Centre for Disease Control) Analysis reports (Drop 1 of 2)
I've featured some of the analysis reports from the ECDC (Europe's version of the CDC) before, a couple of times now, so it's rare I get anything from them (possibly due to them having me down as an independent journalist). So it's a nice surprise, when they remember me! Here's their latest set of reports:
1) Monkeypox multi-country outbreak - first update
2) Long-term qualitative scenarios and considerations of their implications for preparedness and response to the COVID-19 pandemic in the EU/EEA
3) Generic protocol for COVID-19 vaccine effectiveness studies at long-term care facilities in the EU/EEA
4, 5 & 6) Methods for the detection and identification of SARS-CoV-2 variants + Updates 1 and 2
7) Operational considerations for respiratory virus surveillance in Europe 18 July 2022
8) Preliminary public health considerations for COVID-19 vaccination strategies in the second half of 2022

Putin is strongly aligned with the Russian Orthodox Church, which supports him in his war in Ukraine. But he has both domestic and foreign interests in allying with Islam. Russia has the largest Muslim population in Europe, numbering approximately 14 million or roughly 10% of the total population.
Recognized under the law and by Russian political leaders as one of Russia’s traditional religions, Islam is a part of Russian historical heritage and is subsidized by the Russian government. The position of Islam as a major Russian religion, alongside Orthodox Christianity, dates from the time of Catherine the Great, who sponsored Islamic clerics and scholarship.
President Putin consolidated this trend, subsidizing the creation of mosques and Islamic education, which he called an “integral part of Russia’s cultural code,” encouraging immigration from Muslim-majority former Soviet bloc states, and condemning the anti-Muslim hate speech.
