India to overtake China as world's most populous country

India is expected to overtake China as the most populous country in April. The UN predicts this shift will mark the transition of the world's factory status to India.

With China's population already shrinking, by 2050 China's population will be 8% less than it is now. While India's population will keep growing until 2064, peaking at 1.7 billion, almost twice as large as China's at that time.

India is expected to provide more than a sixth of the growth of the world's working-age population (15-64-year-olds) between now and 2050. Its economy recently displaced Britain’s as the world’s fifth-biggest and will rank third by 2029.

The UN notes that China's demographic slump is a disaster for its economy. China faces the "4-2-1 phenomenon": each single child is responsible for two parents and four grandparents. So most elderly Chinese will rely heavily on a public pension system that itself is underfunded.

The Sacred Shield

Before Spartans marched into combat they always received a shield from a Woman, who gave it to them with the grave words "Return, either with your shield or on it" ― meaning to either come back home to her with either victory or with death.

This was because in case a warrior fell in combat, the comrades of the fallen carried his corpse on his shield.

As we can see, the shield was, therefore, a lunar symbol equivalent to the cup, the cup which collects the solar essence of the fallen hero and, like the cup, symbolizes the archetype of the Woman.

In fact, the Woman handing over the shield to the Man is a fairly common archetypal motif in European art of all ages. The shield was seen a talisman, with the ability to protect the one who carried it.
