The Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (April 2023 issue Drop 1 of 2)

In this issue of the unfortunately acronymed Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS... Think about it? Lol), we have a truly mixed bag of papers for you to go through at your leisure, so let's get started shall we?

1) Elucidating the origins of phycocyanobilin biosynthesis and phycobiliproteins

2) Digitizing chemical discovery with a Bayesian explorer for interpreting reactivity data

3) Sea-level rise in Southwest Greenland as a contributor to Viking abandonment

4) Merged magnetic resonance and light sheet microscopy of the whole mouse brain

5) Resource theory of quantum scrambling

6) Electoral rewards for political grandstanding

The Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (April 2023 issue Drop 2 of 2)

1) Bayesian phylodynamics reveals the transmission dynamics of avian influenza A(H7N9) virus at the human–live bird market interface in China

2) Tight junction protein occludin is an internalization factor for SARS-CoV-2 infection and mediates virus cell-to-cell transmission

3) Epistasis reduces fitness costs of influenza A virus escape from stem-binding antibodies

4) Human airway and nasal organoids reveal escalating replicative fitness of SARS-CoV-2 emerging variants

5) The temporal and contextual stability of activity levels in hippocampal CA1 cells

6) Fear circuit–based neurobehavioral signatures mirror resilience to chronic social stress in mouse

ELVE Now for those who've been following the story of ionospheric heaters like America's HAARP or Europe/Germany's EISCAT, these heaters essentially can create "channels" for plasmas - such as large lightning discharges - in the atmosphere. With enough power and under the right conditions, the normal protection from the solar wind afforded by the Earth's magnetosphere might be turned off just long enough to create effects much more stupendous, and destructive, than this. IN other words, the massive lightning bolt that produced this effect may have itself been the artificial creation of such a technology. After all, it packed a current much larger than the typical lightning strike.
