Blood Testosterone Levels in Sickness and in Health: Male Chimpanzee Testosterone Levels Decrease in Face of Immune Challenge | American Journal of Primatology (2021)
The correlation illustrated in this graph, showing 2016 election votes (colour) and population density (height), shocked me when I first saw it. I initially thought it may have something to do with the effects observed in Calhoun's mouse utopia experiments, which I still believe is true, but could this disease burden suppressing testosterone hypothesis also play a role?
Do Cities Suppress Testosterone?

Immune challenges suppress testosterone. Regardless of whether or not the body is successfully infected by a pathogen, immune activation results in a decrease in testosterone. Ed Dutton mentioned this fact in passing in his most recent video, and although I knew testosterone had immunosuppressive properties this fact stuck out to me and got me thinking.

If immune challenges suppress testosterone, and densely populated areas with highly migratory populations, like cities, hugely facilitate the spread of disease. Do cities lower testosterone levels? What are the implications of this?

We know for example that T levels impact personality and behaviour, and political outlook is largely a function of these. Research shows that giving liberal men testosterone makes them more conservative.

So, does environment of modern cities itself, with their dense and diverse populations, spread diseases rapidly, challenge the immune system of individuals frequently, thus depleting testosterone, and liberalising the population? What is the size of this effect?

Back once again with a Mixed Bag droppa! (I'm sure there's a song in there somewhere?) This one's more of a clutch handbag though, due to the size?
Still, the quality is the usual top notch stuff and we have some nice and rare material for you to check out?
