Child-Trafficking Drama 'Sound of Freedom' is America’s #1 movie, taking the top spot at the box office on Independence Day.
- Indiana Jones (Disney) was released in around 4600 theatres.
- Sound of Freedom (Angel Studios) was released in around 2600 theatres
- Indiana Jones July 4th daily box office gross: $11.5 million
- Sound of Freedom July 4th daily box office gross: $14 million
For a limited independent release, this an absolutely incredible achievement. Congratulations to all involved.
Human trafficking and child slavery must be eradicated. The first step in achieving that is awareness.

N.B. Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny was released 4 days prior on June 30th and has so far grossed nearly $84 million domestically. It will be interesting to see in the coming days, particularly as we head into the weekend, where both sit on the weekly domestic chart.
