The connections between the prophecies of the Sibylline oracles (an ancient order of Roman priestesses and oracles, from a time before Rome and also have connections to Orphic myth. Held in the same high regard, by the Romans, as much as the Delphine Oracles of Greece) and those of the Bible, shouldn't be overlooked.
Many a Roman Emperor used their prophecies, for their own political gain and so did those very same Romans, who compiled the Christian Bible. Many of their prophecies have now been lost, due to certain figures taking a disliking to what their prophecies contained, yet some still survived to this day.
