The Protocols

Lately I've been seeing a great deal of talk surfacing around a text called,

'The Protocols of the Elders of Zion'

that's been bandied around several groups and usually it is given as proof of the 'It's the Jews' narrative, being true.
The thing is, no one who touts that text as proof, never actually look into the history of that text, nor do they try to determine it's actual authenticity. Instead it is always presented as irrefutable proof. An unwavering admission of guilt, irrefutable in it's condemnation of Zionism, in all it's forms.
The thing is, that's not the real story behind the protocols and it's actually had several iterations, rewrites and changes to the text, in order to make it fit the times we're in and often by, completely unexpected sources, the last rewrite being done in 2012 and we'll get to by who and why, in a moment.
First, a little background.
Contrary to popular belief, there are no known copies of the protocols, that date before 1890, when it was being passed around by a young man named Theodore von Sebottendorf, a 19th century mystic and student of ancient historical texts. He would also, later found the Thule Society, was secretly employed by the British and a massive antisemite.
That last part is important, in order to trace where, a great deal of what's written in the protocols came from?
Von Sebottendorf, was well versed in ancient mysticism, he was also an extremely accomplished forger, who specialised in those very same ancient texts and it's this, in large part, where he made a great deal of his money. This in turn boosted his social standing and became the vehicle, that extended his reach to the elite class in Germany. It was through his Thule society, that he would meet his future protege and also founder of the Nazi SS, Ahnenerbe and Gestapo, one Heinrich Himmler, in around the late 1920's. It would be Sebottendorf, who would pass on a copy of his protocols, to Himmler, who in turn, would pass it on to Joseph Goebbels and it's here where the first of the 'updates', would be made, in order to make it more able to justify the Nazi's position on the Jews and their actions thereafter.
It remained, largely unchanged after this first edit, up until the late 1950's, early 1960's, when a young gentleman by the name of James Mason was caught handing out pamphlets quoting the protocols in the US.
James Mason, was the cofounder of the US Neonazi movement. He was also an FBI informant. It was through Mason that the FBI, would take the protocols and then periodically alter the text, every couple of decades, in order to track and trace the growth and movement of the Neonazi, but also 'far right extremists', not only across the US, but also world wide.
Altogether, it has been updated and edited, several times since the FBI took charge of it and has seen the most significant changes, made in the Internet age, it's last update being made on 2012.
Attached, is the version I have of the protocols, that also comes with a further 100 FBI documents, showing the discussions through their memos, as they plan how to use the protocols for their advantage.

The protocols are an interesting read and I highly recommend reading them, but I'd also pay attention to the FBI documents also, as they're a more fascinating read and shows the lengths that, that agency would go to, even back in the 1960's, in order to fabricate an extremist problem, in order to further justify their existence?
