In my last post, I mentioned that “public health emergency” laws have been subverted over decades to be where we now are.
Within a few emails, I noticed this from Katherine Watt, paralegal, who as far as I know, is the world’s leading authority on the subject (the exception of course is senior government lawyers who presumably drew up some of the more recent changes).
Some people hear the outline and baulk. They refuse to believe it, and of course, if they really don’t believe it, they mostly won’t review the evidence.
It’s quite convoluted but it ends with the Alice In Wonderland situation where a senior government official, a lawyer, has the responsibility for deciding whether or not to authorise, for massed human use, a treatment incorporating novel technology which is intrinsically injurious, while declining to look at what many believe is clinical trials data (but isn’t, check the article).

Stepwise alterations to private property laws have been changed in analogous ways, and each step looks pretty inconsequential here, too.

There is an old saying that “Ignorance is bliss”. Whatever else you think about a circumstance where you’re under attack, I doubt you can stand this up.

I think the perpetrators are counting on few people even being vaguely aware of these two sets of law changes.

After all, Katherine Watt’s opening remarks are sobering. However, I have to point out that, like doctors, lawyers everywhere are members of a regulated profession.

The particular point of this article is to contrast the lash-up that is the floppiness of the emergency use authorization of dangerous products with the precision you’ll be required to meet if ever you were to attempt to make a claim for injury by such a product.
