Critical Review of Christopher Turner's Adventures in the Orgasmatron A Defense of Dr. Wilhelm Reich and his Orgonomic Science Against Renewed Sexual Slander and Defamation.* By James DeMeo, PhD http://www.orgonelab.org/DeMeoReviewOfTurner.htm More…
With what relish he quotes the damning list of Reich’s crimes compiled after his death later in her life by his last partner, Aurora Karrer. Earlier information about Karrer, quoted by Turner, shows that she was mystically besotted with Reich and the opposite extreme of besotted mystical worship, to which all mystics swing in the end, is a raging, disillusioned urge to destroy the object of one’s worship, the cycle we see the tabloids go through with celebrities that they build up only to bring them to their knees.

Turner obviously wants to be taken as a serious cultural theorist. To prove his point at the end of the book he cites Huxley’s Brave New World to prove that more ‘sexual liberation’ means more political passivity and conformity. He could just as well have cited Orwell’s 1984 and the Party’s plan to abolish the orgasm. Amazingly, he has already cited the quotation where Julia describes this aim, in order to rubbish Orwell for the thought crime of swallowing Reich’s theories. But maybe he had forgotten that by the time he had got to the last page. To quote Huxley’s story as evidence shows us how shallow and thoughtless Turner’s book is. He does not seem to realise that he is quoting a work of imaginative literature and you can find a novel or a character in a novel to prove anything. If depth of feeling and sense of contact with the world is anything to go by, Orwell’s Julia is far closer to life, far more convincing, than the cynically promiscuous characters of Brave New World, the young people that we apparently have today, as described clearly and horrifyingly in Natasha Walter’s recent book, Living Dolls.

"Obviously the nuclear theory and the vortex theory cannot both be true. Since the proponents of the nuclear theory have already presented their theory to the public boldly as though it were a known fact, it is all the more incumbent upon the author to present his vortex theory modestly as a mere hypothesis. But even with this modest interpretation, it has been persistently denied recognition by the accredited scientific magazines. The author has tried long and patiently to obtain publication of it through the usual channels in order that the public might acquire free use of the same, but without success. It is of course conceded that our scientific magazines have the right to accept or reject any theory according to their best judgement, but they do not have the right to present their highly speculative and unproved nuclear theory to the public in a tone of absolute certainty, as though the existence of the atomic nucleus were a known fact. The public is ennoscriptd to correct information as to what is mere theory and what is fact. The dogmatic manner in which nuclear theory is being thrust upon the public by our "highly ethical" scientific magazines is neither scientific nor ethical. It is typical of the sort of pseudo-science which usually prevails wherever there is "no conflict" between science and religion."

The Immanuel Velikovsky Encyclopedia is about the author, Immanuel Velikovsky, and the people and controversy that has resulted from his works. It does not set out to judge whether Velikovsky and his critics were right or wrong, but to document with sources, who said what, and why, and where, and when. There is no doubt that some scientists have labeled some of Velikovsky’s work, pseudoscience or worse, but also others who have acknowledged that Velikovsky made predictions that have turned out to be correct.

Robert Otto Becker, MD (1923 – 2008) – 5 decades of electromedical research by a man far, far ahead of his time.

The father of electrotherapy and electrochemically induced cellular regeneration; a pioneer of silver plated nylon bandage in chronic wound care and regeneration of tissue. His entire bibliography with links to PubMed is offered for your education and not intended as promotional material for EarthPulse.

In the 1970’s Becker warned that power frequency and radio wave fields were damaging to health. He lost his research funding and was forced out of the Veterans Administration Hospital in Syracuse University. If anyone deserved a Nobel in medicine, it was Bob, but they couldn’t allow a Nobel prize to a man warning about dangers of EMF. Little did he know that EMF’s were going to destroy the sleep patterns of all planetary inhabitants,

Jackie Bosworth, M.D. tells Dr. Burritt about her adolescent patient Drew who lived in a residential treatment facility for children at risk. She had great difficulty managing her anger and frustration and attacked anyone who got in her way. Listen in to hear how Dr. Bosworth was able to connect with Drew and provide relief for this teenager’s pent-up emotions.
