Carl-Gunne Fälthammar
Carl-Gunne Fälthammar (b. 4 December 1931, Markaryd, Sweden) is Professor Emeritus at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden, specialising in space and plasma physics in the School of Electrical Engineering. He succeeded Hannes Alfvén as Professor of Plasma Physics in 1975.
His research interests include plasma electrodynamics, with application to space and astrophysical plasmas, especially in the context of auroral and magnetospheric physics. He is also the Associate Editor of the journal Astrophysics and Space Science.

In another to A.S. Neill, Reich wrote, "Would you be willing to sound a warning about the difficulties of ‘self-regulation’ in education to all you can reach? It is very necessary to kill a new false religion of easy-going heavens before it is too late."
In answer, Neill writes, "Damned annoying all the same to find how strong a hold the other side gets on a kid. Ena (his wife) and I counter-act all the time of course."

Dr. Morton Herskowitz was the last therapist trained by Wilhelm Reich personally. He was the president of the Institute Orgonomic Science and author of the book, Emotional Armor: an introduction to psychiatric Orgone therapy.

1947 brought with it two inflammatory articles about Reich & his work written by Mildred Edie Brady. The first, "The New Cult of Sex and Anarchy," appeared in Harper's; but more damaging was her "The Strange Case of Wilhelm Reich" which appeared in The New Republic. Brady's article gave rise to an investigation by the Food & Drug Administration.
The Food & Drug Administration's inquiry into Reich's use of the orgone accumulator culminated with a Complaint for Injunction filed in Federal Court in February 1954. Reich's written response was dismissed by the Court, and the Complaint by default became legally binding Injunction. This federal statute required that all of Reich's books & journals that mentioned the word "orgone", were branded as ‘labels’ for the ‘fraudulent’ device, & to be destroyed. Reich's books & journals were burned in a New York City incinerator in 1956 & again as late as 1960.

Reich’s death, his daughter Eva became the Trustee of his estate; however, after a year she stated she no longer wanted the job. For several weeks no one stepped forward, causing a perilous legal limbo for the fledgling Wilhelm Reich Infant Trust created in Reich’s Will. Ms. Higgins had never met Reich in person, though she had attended his 1956 trial in Portland, Maine. But because she deeply felt the injustice of how Reich was treated, she volunteered for the Trustee job. Dr. [Chester M.] Raphael at first opposed this, thinking it was far too great a responsibility. But Higgins persisted as no one else offered, and eventually it was decided she should try it. In later years she said, "I had no idea how huge a task I was getting into. It’s so much more than a full-time job." After meeting with Eva Reich, who legally transferred the role, Higgins became Trustee in March 1959—a job she continued to execute faithfully for almost 60 years.

Dr. Karl Fossum, psychiatrist and longtime member of Institute for Orgonomic Science, passed away in February, 2017. He was a good-natured man with an exultant smile and a wisdom that commanded respect. With the exception of this last year, Dr. Fossum regularly participated in IOS meetings, which were held in Dr. Morton Herskowitz’s house in Philadelphia. I enjoyed talking with Dr. Fossum because of his pleasant demeanor, his wisdom, and his knowledge of Orgonomy. After our IOS meetings, I usually gave him a ride back to New York City where he resided. We often talked about issues related to Orgonomy such as Orgonomic institutes, the future of Orgonomy, as well as the history of Orgonomy, in which he was well versed.
