Hot off the press from James Roguski - details on the new expiry dates to reject the 2024 IHRs, and by when we need to adjust governance and law.
For States Parties to which the 2022 amendments apply:
Any State Party intending to reject or to make reservations to any of the amendments “adopted” on June 1, 2024 may notify the Director-General accordingly within a period of 10 months from the date of this notification, i.e. no later than July 19, 2025.”
Further, any rejection or reservation
received thereafter shall have no effect.
Plus…”Any State Party that intends to make a declaration pursuant to paragraph 3 of Article 59 of
the IHR concerning its inability to adjust its domestic legislative and administrative
arrangements fully, may similarly submit such a declaration to the Director-General within a
period of 10 months from the date of this notification, i.e. no later than 19 July 2025.”
Plus…Implementation of the IHRs must occur by the 19th September 2025.
