The one that's left, Levi, was the one tribes in the middle, that were the judges who solved the disputes between the 12 camps. The Levite tribes were the only tribe without a direct genecological link to it's founder and namesake, as it consisted of 2 tribesmen from each tribes and then Levi and his wife (I want to say, Rachel, but i might be wrong) to settle any tied judgements. (Book of Judges - Old Testament).
