4/5 years ago I designed and made a handful of these hobby boxes I called ‘The Nomad’.

Primarily designed for model painting, someone used theirs to build lures for fly fishing.

I sold 4 at the time and lost money on all those sales because I’d undersold postage.

I then sold the original prototype on Facebook marketplace a year later and was inundated with requests for more but never pursued it.
It was one of the more potentially successful ideas I had when I was throwing things at the wall to see what’s stick and allow me to escape the rat race. An idea I probably should’ve pursued rather than falling prey to a harebrained quick cash scheme offered up to me.

Maybe I’ll be in a situation again one day where I can take another stab at these…

Over the weekend activists from PA Essex were hard at work repairing four of the badly damaged benches at East Beach in Southend.

The local residents were extremely grateful as these benches had been like this for months due to inconsiderate visitors using disposable BBQs, burning the wood tops. Some of the locals even brought the activists much needed drinks.

Each bench was left with a rustic message so that everyone who sits there knows who is looking out for the people of Southend.
