Winter weather from a southerners perspective.
Beauty, yes however it is a beauty that i would rather see in cards and pictures. The south is not built for this weather. Our houses are seldom insulated for it and the slopes on our rooves are seldom on a steep enough pitch to shed the snow load. It isn't all bad there is a lot of fun to be had with a bit of ingenuity however I think it would lose some of the magic if we had this weather more often. Also I have 0 idea how the farmers of the north accomplish anything during the winter. My pallets are frozen to the ground and the wood is frozen making driving nails almost impossible. Here in the south and in Texas we are used to a 365 day wotk year on the farm. I now understand why I read about farmers taking the winter as a slow down. However I am not at all sure how you all keep you animals alive through the long hard freeze that you get.
My conclusion is I will keep my 107 degree summers with 98% humidity down here and yall can keep the winter up there 😁

The wife and I took a walk up to the north side of our property today. Saw some bobcat tracks and where it or something else caught a rabbit. A couple of pretty sights as well. Then walked down the drive to the road. Thats the last few pictures. I'm from Texas and I own that. I can't drive on ice so I called in again for tomorrow. Thank God I have a good job with an understanding boss

So during all this ice my place of work got a metric ton of salt in these buckets...... if you can believe it they were going to throw them away! (I cringe at the horror of it😂) I scored about 20 of them. I used 5 to make new nest boxes for the chicken tractor. Install will be at some point this weekend
