General market update
The total market cap of all cryptocurrencies has surged beyond $1 trillion for the first time in over a month, CoinMarketCap data shows. The return to this psychologically significant threshold comes after Bitcoin broke through $22,000. This price point has proven a stubborn level of resistance for BTC in recent weeks, with bulls given a boost after they successfully avoided a sustained fall below $20,000. But it's Ether that's by far the best performer on a seven-day timeframe.

Sandwich Network Product Updates
The launch of SandwichSAFU (tiered-system launchpad) has been postponed until better market conditions, for this reason we will now also weekly recap on the current cryptocurrency market.

General market update
The Federal Reserve has increased its base interest rate by three-quarters of a percentage point for the second time in a row. Bitcoin accelerated to $23,300 in the hours after the announcement was made — the Nasdaq closed up 4.2%. Some analysts had feared the Fed would hike rates by a full percentage point in its quest to tackle inflation. The U.S. central bank has warned further increases may be needed in the months ahead, but there are fears this could spark a recession.

To generate more interaction with our community, we have assigned a new team to creating content and interacting on a more regular basis on all Sandwich Network's socials.

General news
The Ethereum Foundation has revealed that the long-awaited merge will be completed between Sept. 10 and 20. This means the historic switch from a proof-of-work to a proof-of-stake blockchain could take place a few days earlier than advertised. It comes after a series of repeated delays — and it's worth remembering this milestone was meant to have been achieved back in 2019.
