#message Join us for a rowdy noise demo Wednesday, June 3 at 4pm outside SPD's North Precinct (10049 College Way North, Seattle 98133) as we express our rage and sorrow over the murder of George Floyd, and fight for the abolition of police on this stolen land.
North Seattle is the whitest part of the our city. The historic roots of this go back to racist redlining. Nearly every older house, whole neighborhoods, were built with covenants in the deed prohibiting black folks and people of color... except as a live-in servant.
Cops from the North Precinct murdered Charlena Lyles, a pregnant black mother, in front of her children. They fought unanimously against any attempts at reform while demanding money for an expensive new building. They maintain redlining and segregation long after they are no longer legal through systemic violence against Black, Indigenous and PoC communities and individuals.
We welcome and admire the autonomy of children and elders who join us knowing that if the cops attack us, we must fight back.
Bring noisemakers, signs, and umbrellas, wear masks, observe social distancing.
