reVehicle searches
i am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice.
in the US, if cops don’t have a warrant they have to have probable cause for an arrest, see an illegal item in plane view, or be in hot pursuit / in an emergency to search a vehicle.
they can also search a vehicle if they have consent. for the cops, silence is consent. so you have to state “I don’t consent to searches.” which may not stop them but could get a case thrown out later down the line.
even if they have a warrant or you think they have other legally legitimate reasons still state “i don’t consent to searches”

This is a document I’ve put together after talking to my lawyer and friend, Sarah Lippek, who is handling many cases in regards to the protest including the woman who experienced heart failure from a flash-bang. Please feel free to share.
if anyone found keys on the ground, or a bunch of gear/medical equipment at the protests in the last few days, please dm @aprilmayjune1312 so that we can return it to its owner! :)
#scanner 5:37 “can we get supervisor and other units?” “Multiple units and supervisor and route”
sounds like arrest in background.
